Though digital rights management itself is a good thing, gets it benefits to the content providers and the copyright holders, most importantly it could limit piracy and also ensure continued revenue flow for the copyright owners, the same time DRM could as well be much a trouble for legitimate customers. One would have issues creating backups for purchased stuffs as CD, or DVD’s, these are anyways perfect legal things to do. When it comes to ePub e-books they support features as DRM, comes as an additional layer that could be added along; and few content providers would go along locking their published content with the DRM system of their own choice as the ePub’s doesn’t specify on a particular DRM system to use, giving the sole freedom to the publishers would go along a DRM scheme to their choice.

One would want to consider about ePub DRM Removal as the purchased ePub e-book comes up with restrictions or is DRM protected. After all you have payed the price for the book, its really much unfair to have restrictions made to what you payed for. One can go along ePub DRM Removal to take off the restrictions put on by DRM and view ePub files on Windows, iPad, iTouch, iPhone, Sony Reader, Android or Nook. Additionally user could convert the ePub e-books to pdf or take hard copies.

If one would search for breaking the restrictions made on ePub ebooks, there are lot ePub DRM Removal software available in the market. Good to have ePub DRM Removal software that doesn’t affect on the quality of the e-books, but it just takes off the restrictions put by DRM. While going along any ePub DRM Removal software, one would really need to check on the quality offered after the DRM removal, most of the software does offer quality same as the original ePub e-book, one click DRM removal are added benefits.

Smartphones are incredible pieces of technology that can help you do almost anything you desire while on the go. You can write emails while sitting in a subway, look up obscure facts while standing in an elevator, and coordinate a ride home while mingling at a party. The list goes on and on. However, despite all its uses, the smartphone often serves the purpose of disconnecting us from our physical surroundings. While it can give us facts, figures, data, and access to people around the world, it rarely – outside of mapping services – provides direct contact with your immediate locality.

Slowly this is changing, though. In a world where range of technologies, T1 included, can support data transmitted by services such as PBB, MPLS-TP, and mpls networks, there are countless ways for two devices in physical proximity to communicate with each other. Simply by holding your smartphone against an object, therefore, can translate into an instantaneous transmission of information from that object to your phone, or vice versa.

This ability to connect with its surroundings is an increasingly important smartphone use – a use that stands to only gain in prominence in the near future. While the applications for this are incredibly wide-ranging and varied, here are some of the main ways that you can expect to interact with your surroundings using your smartphone in the next several years – if you do not already do so.

Payments

Carrying a wallet filled with cash and credit cards looks like it will, someday, become an outdated practice. This is because people can now enter their credit card information into smartphone programs. Then, when they go to buy something, they simply have to wave their phone in front of a special scanner. While security concerns and a lagged adaption by retailers have slowed the growth of this technology, we can surely expect to regularly see it in the near future.

Information

We already use our smartphones to search Google or Wikipedia to learn about something that we are physically encountering. Soon, you’ll be able to take this a step further: by holding your phone in front of a painting, or a car, or a certain type of plant, your phone will be able to process that image and tell you exactly what it is you’re looking at. This is already available for identifying types of flowers, although the technology is still being perfected.

Shopping

Similarly, waving your phone in front of an item at the store will soon allow you to read detailed information about that item and to see a demo of it being used. A select number of retailers, Home Depot foremost among them, already offer this service. Some companies plan to furthermore provide the price offered by competitors’ websites, thus allowing you to price compare while at the store and to leave that store confident with your purchase – or, conversely, with your lack thereof.

These are just a few of the many ways that smartphones will more concretely help people interact with their surroundings in the near future. While it may make your life easier and more complicated at the same time, it undoubtedly will leave you more informed than before.

When viewed from the technology side, running call centers have always been made easy over the past few years. Advent of technology and more dynamic implementation of software as a service have always made this happen in ease. The age we are in offers much comprehensive technology, better handling the requirements and tasking things easy; its always good for an upgrade and and harness what that is latest and run your business even smoother.

The technology used earlier is premise based. Built on PBX equipments hosted and owned by the call centers. Feature and function side this technology offers automated call distribution, IVR and skill based routing etc. One drawback is that the operator needs to do the maintenance on his own and so would be the software upgrades.

Virtual call center technology stays ahead in every aspect and also it cuts the need for the operator to do the back end works or other maintenance. What happens here is the call centers never own or need to own or to host the equipment, but this is done by a vendor and for the service the call centers take, they pay an amount monthly or annually. Call centers connect to the provider by making use of public switched telephone network or VoIP, the rest procedures are done from the vendor end.

Its a good choice to make an upgrade and run things smooth and more efficient as it should always be. Could be a much of a problem going for an upgrade, just the simple reason that you can find lot vendors offering virtual call center software. What you need to is chose a provider that offers virtual call center services cheap and the same time exceptional services.

Fully featured software would deliver you maximum productivity on the floor and the same time perfect customer service. Running things low cost is one main concern for any enterprise and so would be efficiency. So its really required that you stick to a provider that got for you prompt, impeccable service delivery and the charges levied light.

These are few of the other features you can expect from a good provider other than getting you high quality calls cheap. Call campaigns with voice broadcasting, provisions for your executives to work off the office or work from anywhere options, multiple dialing programs, inbound calls auto process features, online reports and admin facilities, easy use CRM with advanced management capabilities. Few of the providers got their own patented software to run things smooth and easy as you could ever imagine, but the cost to feature ratio is what one need to really weight before choosing to stick with any.

Digital reading devices have changed the way people read as well as turned the entire publishing industry on its head. The two top contenders are The Kindle and The Nook offering similar and a varying of features. Compare the two leaders in this industry to figure out what works best for you.

Buttons

The design of these two devices has morphed considerably. Currently the most recent models are the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet. However there are five other versions of the Kindle and one of the Nook available at varied pricing. o The Kindle Fire now has a touch screen which, at its inception and for several models thereafter only offered a tangible keyboard. However, now that this design only has one button, the on/off switch, it is located in a difficult spot along the bottom which has some users complaining that they inadvertently shut it off now and again. o The Nook Tablet as a touch screen with iPad like capability. It has an easy access ‘n’ button that easily takes you wherever you need to go such as the home screen, settings or web.

Screen

Each device comes with a seven inch screen however the Nook offers their VividView(TM) feature which they claim delivers a full clarity, no air gap experience with reduced reflection and indoor or outdoor no glare reading capability. The Kindle however offers a “chemically strengthened” screen that is twenty times stiffer and thirty times harder than plastic for ultimate durability.

Total Size and Weight

The Nook is slightly larger but actually weighs less than the Kindle. o The Kindle Fire measures: 7.5″ height x 4.7″ width x 0.45″ deep and weighs 14.6 oz. o The Nook Tablet measures: 8.1″ height x 5.1″ width x 0.48″ deep and weighs 14.1 oz.

Memory, Storage and Servers

The Nook Tablet comes with more memory and storage however because the Kindle is linked with Amazon, the number one online shopping network, it touts many more available books, apps and games. The Nook, linked to Barnes and Noble is slowly attaining more titles. o The Nook Tablet offers an impressive 1GB of RAM with 16GB (up to 32GB with additional SD card) of storage. o The Kindle Fire comes in at 512 MB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

Internet

Both models offer wireless wireless Internet capability. Keep in mind that the higher priced versions do not infiltrate your reading experience with advertising pop-ups. The lesser priced models have advertising (that’s why they cost less).

Battery

The Nook Tablet wins with 11.5 battery hours of reading while the Kindle Fire comes in at 8 hours.

Other Features

Both play music, videos (7.5 hours of battery each), include color, apps, games and more similarities.

Overall, it looks like the Kindle still leads due to its enormous library and its $50 less price ($199 vs. $249). However if you are patient, the Nook is a close second and rising.

As debit and credit cards replace cash in most transactions, the risks to consumers increase. While a cash theft is limited to the amount carried at the time of the crime, debit cards are tied directly into a victim’s bank account, and safeguards at the point of sale are often insufficient to prevent access to the compromised account.

Convenience is another key issue, as multiple interchangeable debit and credit cards can be difficult to track. Fortunately, programmable credit cards can overcome many of these hurdles, bringing innovative levels of security and convenience to the purchasing experience.

Programmable cards look much like their static counterparts, with most of their additions beneath the waterproof plastic surface. A series of buttons on the front allow passcode entry for increased security, or facilitate switching the card between several linked accounts. The magnetic strip on the card’s back is instantly reprogrammable, and the card is powered by a battery with a lifespan of four years.

Programmable credit cards are more secure. When locked, the embedded magnetic strip contains an invalid code that will not scan. In order to be of any use, the customer must first enter a unique passcode using the keys on the card’s front. Anyone who steals the card without knowing this passcode simply has a useless piece of plastic. Even the number is not displayed, rendering the card useless for online transactions. Since these enjoy none of the security checks of physical points of sale, programmable credit cards effectively counter the largest risk of credit card theft.

Programmable credit cards can also store more than one account. Consumers can store personal and corporate accounts on a single card, or can keep all consumer cards in a single place. Programmable cards are not limited to credit accounts, however. Any card with a magnetic strip can be stored, including most customer reward cards.

Programmable credit cards are a unique technology not only for their benefit to consumers, but also due to their compatibility with existing systems. Rare is the technological leap that brings massive value to one participant in an interaction while requiring few or no changes for another. For instance, Near Field Communication is poised to revolutionize payments entirely by replacing cash or credit cards with phones, but these technologies require custom point-of-sale hardware. Programmable credit cards work well with 40-year-old magnetic readers, and sales staff require no additional training in their use.

As with any other new technology, its method of adoption is key to its success. While this universal remote of credit cards seems like a great consumer product, it appears to be experiencing initial distribution by banks and other financial institutions. In particular, Citibank is performing a trial run of a programmable card that allows exchanging rewards points for cash. With any luck, versions of such cards that are programmable by consumers themselves will soon be available. Furthermore, these cards use the same magnetic strip made via ID card printers. These two technologies might one day converge, providing the ability to create more than just credit or reward cards.

Programmable credit cards offer customers increased security and greater convenience in a package that is compatible with existing sales hardware. This powerful combination poises these rewritable cards as a technology which is sure to transform how payments are made.

Facebook does not seem to be getting things right. Call it bad times, bad omens or whatever, but the company that is looking to go public next year is really having a tough challenge on the home ground in ensuring user security and privacy compliance.

First, it was the Facebook cookie that collected user information without any user-sanction that caused a global uproar causing the FTC to intervene and ask for privacy compliance measures on the Facebook platform. If this was not enough to embarrass Facebook, we have had a security breach on the website and the nature of this purported security breach implies that many users have had a rather unpleasant experience of seeing pornographic images and violet pictures when they tried to access the Facebook site this Monday.

Analysts are perplexed at what is really happening, and whether Facebook has its own house under control. It is clear that the recent hacking of some Facebook accounts would have come as a telling proof of inability of the platform to handle user-injected malicious code. The question is that whether the company is geared up to manage the user-security or whether it is actually demonstrating enough fire-power to assure users of fool-proof security.

Who caused the issue or what caused this disaster is something that is irrelevant. The fact is that a particular vulnerability within the platform was exploited by the hackers to inject pornographic and violent pictures, thereby causing deep mental anguish to the users who were subjected to this mental cruelty. Think of many youngsters whose parents would not have liked them to see any of those violent or porn pictures and you can appreciate the concerns that come to the mind.

So, is the Facebook doing enough to gauge the vulnerabilities on the system? Or has it done enough in the past to reach a stage of in-depth vulnerability assessment on the site? These are very tough questions, but at the same time these are some of the most essential questions that need to be asked of a company that is intending to trade on the major indices across the States next financial year.

Facebook, on its part said that is has been able to contain the damage from spreading virally within the website. It also mentioned that the security breach happened because users were tricked into copying-pasting malicious code in their browsers and this allowed inadvertent access into their Facebook profiles, subsequently leading to the hacked profiles showing unintentional content. However, this again calls for the control flow within Facebook to be modified so that any malicious code and malicious site URLs can be tested before being allowed to percolate throughout the site.

Whether Facebook’s defence can be taken on a verbatim basis is something that is unclear; the fact still remains that the malicious piece of code did come to the users of the platform and spread from within the platform. The question, however, is whether Facebook would spend its efforts in trying to pin the blame somewhere else to deflect the blame or whether it will take this as a way forward to promote user security and fix its own house to prevent such a recurrence in the foreseeable future. Time shall tell, and we shall see.

Slowly but surely, the amount of materials and devices that litter your home is shriveling up. The TV, desktop computer, and everything in between are destined to become one solitary device or system that is your portal to all communications, functions, media, and knowledge that is available to you. Picture an object no bigger than the latest iPhone 4S, but with the power to project a 72-inch HD image onto a wall while remotely handling the climate control of your home five miles away. It’s not a possibility, it’s an inevitability.

While we aren’t quite there yet, it’s worth listing five of the more bulkier mainstays of the household landscape that are now just about gone for good thanks to the prevalence of smartphone technology:

The Radio

While most American families haven’t gathered around the radio for probably at least half a century, the kitchen radio used to rock out during cleaning and cooking sessions has remained a component of most living situations despite the age of the Walkman and beyond. But with the advent of Pandora, and the ability to plug a phone packed with tunes into virtually any speaker system, who needs the AM/FM radio?

The Phone Book

The online white pages directory has existed for sometime, but previous incarnations have historically been lousy at keeping up-to-date information. That’s definitely no longer the case, and the ability to instantly access such information through the very device used to establish a potential connection has made the phone book an archaic waste of paper product.

The Gaming Console

Sure, there’s no way that smartphones are going to come close to the realism and revolutionary environments inherent with the latest PC and game console releases. But smartphone-optimized games have been cutting into the major game market for sometime now, something traditional game developers consider to be a serious risk to their companies. Kids are preferring to play games on their phones instead of on systems, and parents are more willing to buy a $1 download versus a title priced at $59.99.

The Bookshelf

The saddest sight to see disappear from most homes, the bookshelf and its holdings are becoming irrelevant. While Google Books and other smartphone apps are definite reasons for the reduced number of printed titles being bought, credit also needs to be given to the tablet and Amazon e-readers.

The Printer

The best thing to see most families get rid of, the smartphone has sealed the fate of home printers. The expensive and environmentally-negligent method of holding onto information is irrelevant when documents can be stored and emailed with ease, and when things like directions can be provided to you in real-time on the road via smartphone technology.

We aren’t at the technological singularity yet, or even to the point where every modern function we could possibly ever need is accessible through a pocket-sized device, but look around and it’s clear that we’re on our way. When room opens up to get a bigger TV or to buy a new lamp, stop and consider how your smartphone made that possible.

When the DVD arrived during the mid-90s as a superior storage medium to VHS tapes, it took nearly eight years before it was finally able to outstrip VHS in sales. Some tech experts predict that the same thing will happen between DVD and Blu-ray, but this latest storage format is facing additional obstacles that might lead to it becoming like the Laserdisc technology of the early 80s.

When compared to DVDs, Blu-ray outstrips them in nearly every way. A single layer DVD, for example, can carry about 4.7 GB of data, whereas a single layer Blu-ray disc carries over five times that amount, allowing it to store more special features. Blu-ray also has much better picture quality and sound, and the discs themselves are coated with a protective layer that makes them more durable. DVDs still have faster loading times, but the newer Blu-ray players are improving this.

If Blu-ray provides better storage and higher quality video, then why do DVD sales still outperform Blu-ray in the marketplace? The higher cost of Blu-ray is the main reason most people decide not to purchase this format. Blu-ray discs cost an additional $10 from patent fees, while DVDs have plummeted in price, becoming as cheap as $8. Those who have spent thousands already on their DVD libraries are highly unlikely to replace them all at $30 each. Moreover, the library of movie titles in DVD format is much larger, and it will take some time for Blu-ray to catch up if it ever does.

Blu-ray also suffers from a lack of hardware support when compared to DVDs. Blu-ray discs require larger, higher quality HDTVs to show their worth, unlike DVDs that have always been superior to VHS regardless of the TV. The hardware needed to play DVDs is also much cheaper and more widespread, making them a more popular choice when it comes to media sharing. For example, a Verbatim DVD-R 50 pack is only a third of the cost of six Verbatim BD-R 25 GB discs. The 50 pack also offers more total space and a greater chance of finding a compatible player since nearly everyone has at least one DVD drive.

Lastly, the demand for media storage devices is slowly beginning to disappear with the advent of high-speed Internet connections. Instead of checking out a physical copy, many consumers will use a cable or satellite-owned Video On Demand service or subscribe to an online streaming site such as Netflix. While the quality and stability of streaming technology is not up to par with Blu-ray at the moment, it is only a matter of time until connection speed and availability improves enough that most households will switch to streaming methods for their entertainment. Blu-ray may very well be the last physical storage medium to exist on the market.

While more time is needed before a clear assessment of Blu-ray’s future can be made, predictions that it would outsell DVDs by the year 2012 has been shown to be false, largely due to streaming technology and higher costs.

Google has introduced a new product called the Chromebook, which runs on the Chrome OS. Essentially the Chromebook is a netbook that simply allows you to access the Internet. Rather than have data storage and extra programs, Chromebook gives you just the basics – the web. With cloud computing becoming a lot more popular for business and personal use, it makes sense that a product like the Chromebook would be useful. If all your data is stored on the cloud, all you need is something to give you access to. Everything else is just frills. The Chromebook is a no-frills way to bring the cloud with you wherever you go. But is it worth it? Do you really want a device that does less? Maybe you do. Simplicity is much sought-after in the digital age. The Chromebook is the epitome of simplicity for your electronic devices. But should you get one? Here are some of the pros and cons to Google’s Chromebook.

Pros

It’s Quick

A Chromebook will boot up in a total of eight seconds. That’s light years faster than most computers, and even most tablets and smart phones.

Protected

Because there is basically nothing on the Chromebook except a Linux kernel that runs processes, you don’t have to worry about viruses – they have nothing to infect. But there is data encryption and sandboxing to further protect you.

Long-Lasting Battery

There aren’t a lot of applications or features running on your Chromebook to suck your battery dry. Even with continual use of a Chromebook, the battery will last six to eight hours.

Lightweight

The Chromebook weighs only three pounds.

Wireless Broadband

You can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, or tap into the 3G or 4G network.

Automatically Updated

You don’t have to worry about downloading updates because Chromebook will do it automatically.

Guest Mode

You can log in and access your data and files on any device running Chrome OS.

Easy to Use

Since it is basically just an Internet browser, the Chromebook is very user-friendly and easy for everyone to use.

Cons

Requires Internet Connection

Because everything is stored in the cloud rather than on the actual device, if your Chromebook is not connected to the Internet you won’t be able to access any of your files.

Compatibility

You can’t run any Windows applications on the Chrome OS.

Google Storage

All of your data will be stored on Google’s cloud. You therefore are entrusting all your files to Google. If you’re okay with that, then don’t worry. But it’s certainly something to consider.

Gaming

You can’t really use the Chromebook for gaming, except to play online versions.

Cost

The cost of a Google Chromebook starts at $349. This is comparable to other similar products on the market, but it is still a significant investment. Is it worth it to you to pay that much for a device that essentially only lets you access the Internet?

Ultimately you will have to decide if the Chromebook is right for you. And only time will tell if this Google venture will end up being characterized as a great success or utter failure.

Mobile is no longer about talking on the phone; it’s about, sharing, organising, being entertained and staying connected. It’s become like a remote control for many peoples’ lives. They use it connect in more ways than could have been imagined in the days when mobiles were like bricks, and all you could do was talk into them. Global Mobile Internet use will soon surpass desktop use. For businesses, brands and agencies, this trend is proving to be a force that is completely changing the way that marketing and advertising campaigns are being developed. Whilst traditional marketing techniques like email marketing, print media and banner ads, mobile marketing is cantered around user’s wants and needs. Consumers want a more active role in choosing what they receive and are much more likely to respond and become engaged with your brand using their smartphones.

It is clear that mobile technology is here to stay. Not only is there is a lucrative market for digital businesses to tap into. Organisations and companies would do well to train in-house teams to develop apps and web sites developed with mobile functionality and usability in mind. We at Silicon Beach Training have seen a growing demand for Mobile Development and iPhone app training to reflect the current skills demand.

Whether it is a game of throwing around disgruntled birds, finding your nearest Indian takeaway, or taking retro-style pictures, iPhone users are all on the look-out for the best iPhone apps to make their iPhone engage inform and entertain them. Being the creator of a great iPhone app can get people talking about a company, and with this level of free marketing, it is clear that creating great apps for consumers can pay dividends. This is why mobile app developers are fast becoming the most sought after employees for the digital age.

The role of the mobile app developer is a relatively new one in the digital marketing industry, but businesses everywhere are beginning to realise the growth potential from using IOS training to develop successful iPhone apps. So, how can your business ensure it is doing its utmost to fill the gap between supply and demand of these apps?

Develop your company

Get yourself a developer or train an existing employee! More and more students from computing courses are leaving university looking to become mobile app developers. Even self-taught developers are entering the workforce, creating from their bedrooms. However, if you are a small company, hiring freelance developers without much IOS training can be lengthy and costly.

Turn developers into devel-app-ers!

The simplest way to get on track to join the iPhone app craze is getting your current employees or developers if you use them, to go on an IOS app course. These courses are a great way of ensuring that your employees are getting the exact and specific training they are going to need to make your company a killer iPhone app time after time. Also training your current employees cuts out the hassle of hiring from outside of the company, and means that your newly formed app developer will already be familiar with the company’s needs.

Choosing the right iPhone course

Look around you. The digital marketing sector has spread so rapidly, you are never more than a stone’s throw away from professional help and training. In Sussex, there are more than companies in this sector than you can shake a smartphone at. And with such competition, it is hard to do all training in-house. Companies such as Silicon Beach Training take all the hard work out of keeping your employees in the know. Choose wisely, we provide a five day training course in Brighton, some companies are offering 2 or three day courses. Shorter courses will not be able to provide all the hands-on practise essential for learning. There is more to iOS development than code, you need your developers to know how to get their app to market and make sure it is easy to find in the App Store.

Get creative

Now that you know how to get your company up to speed quicker than you can say “Bob’s your Apple”, get thinking about what fantastic apps you can create to promote your company and get people talking about you. Most importantly, of course, give your consumers what they want. Give them something that they won’t be able to live without and get them sharing!

The iPhone and its apps, have changed the way people view their mobile phones; make sure your company gets the same treatment!

Silicon Beach Training in Brighton provide a range of Mobile Develpment Training including a iPhone Training course. Trainers are all industry professionals with a wealth of experience. Classes are kept small to allow for pleanty of attention and hands-on experience for delegates. All training courses can be provided incompany.
