It looks like plenty of folks are liking the show like we do here at Spectral Review.

One of the things we really like is the opening text on the show:

“The following program documents the case studies of Everyday Paranormal. All evidence has been gathered by the Klinge Brothers and their team of investigators. Nothing has been manipulated or manufactured.”

DIRTY JOBS Continues Strong Second Week of Premiere Episodes

On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, premiere episodes of DIRTY JOBS and GHOST LAB helped rank Discovery Channel as the #3 primetime cable network in primetime for Men 25-54 and 18-49. The network also ranked #4 for Persons 25-54 (858K) and 18-49 (872K), and Men 18-34 (308K).

In only its second week, GHOST LAB bested its household numbers from its series premiere last week, going from .79 HH to 1.11 HH, a 41% increase. GHOST LAB also saw a big bump in M18-34 with a whooping 87% increase from last week, +47% for M18-49 and 28% higher P25-54.

DIRTY JOBS continued strong with 1.38 HH and 0.91 in the key P25-54 demo. DIRTY JOBS was the #3 primetime cable telecast for M25-54 delivery (660K) and ranked at #5 for M18-49 (691K). In the 9PM time slot DIRTY JOBS was the #2 cable telecast for M25-54 and M18-49, only coming in behind VH-1’s Hip Hop Honors.

GHOST LAB follows brothers Brad and Barry Klinge as they take their mobile lab on the road to uncover the truth behind Americas most haunted sites. From a music hall where Elvis is believed to have never left the building to Civil War battlefields where the fallen are still heard, Brad and Barry employ the latest technology to research the supernatural and separate fact from fiction.

The team from Everyday Paranormal lead by Brad and Barry Klinge visited two locations in this first episode. They were the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium and the Myrtles Plantation.

In this episode they tell us of a theory they plan to explore and test called “Era Cues”. A haunted location sometimes is reported to have spirits from a certain time period or activity during a period in history. The Klinge brothers are testing the idea that paranormal activity can be triggered by promoting the particular time or era in some way. At the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium they decide to play music from the 50’s because much of the reported activity seems to be from that time. At the Myrtles Plantation they center on the Civil War era because on a previous investigation there they captured a terrific EVP “Colonel…Are you afraid?” So they ask a historian to speak about the Civil War and replay the recording during their investigation.

A unique idea that your editor here at Spectral Review has not seen done before on TV.

A second technique they presented in this first episode that we had not seen before was using a set of “digital data loggers”. A digital data logger takes continuous readings of temperature, humidity and EMF. In the past a “shadow person” was seen in a hallway at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium so they used the digital data loggers in a “linear sweep”. Using several digital data loggers placed about 4 feet apart they hope to be able to track an entity as it passes through the hall.

This episode captured two very good EVP, one at each location. They also captured a voice audible to the ear at the Myrtles Plantation of what sounded like a child singing or laughing.

Ghost Lab certainly looks to be a terrific and refreshing addition to the paranormal TV landscape. We are looking forward to seeing how future exploration using “Era Cues” triggers paranormal events. We are also intrigued by what other ideas Brad and Barry Klinge and their team will come up with in this series.

This first season of Ghost Lab will be 13 episodes and will air on Tuesdays at 10PM Eastern and again 3 hours later.

Two brothers lead their team of paranormal investigators to Louisiana on a mission to collect scientific evidence that can provide insight into the alleged hauntings at the Myrtles Plantation and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

We all know who the two brothers are – Brad and Barry Klinge from Everyday Paranormal. And people who have been following them know they have been to the Myrtles Plantation. So we can’t wait to see what additional findings they have found there and what they have found at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

I think this new series is going to be terrific. Brad and Barry are going to take a fresh look at ghost hunting with many new techniques that have not been tried before. The plumbers have fallen into such a routine that every one of their shows is very cookie cutter.

Ironically Ghost Lab will probably improve Ghost Hunters because it is going to give them a kick in the ass.

The plumbers can claim they have “the best evidence so far this season coming up”, but so what when it’s just faked? Or why get excited just because Meatloaf is going on one of their investigations? The plumbers show has gotten so desperate they had to go the “demon” route last week.

Truly sad.

Brad and Barry Klinge of Everyday Paranormal will premiere their new show Ghost Lab this Fall on The Discovery Channel.

From the press release:

The Klinge brothers aren’t satisfied with merely going into a home with the hopes of catching a voice on tape. They want to test real scientific theories. With the help of the latest technology, a decked-out travelling “ghost lab” and one of the world’s foremost specialists in science measurements, they test cutting-edge theories. Is there more ghost activity around water? Are spirits attached to specific items or locations? The Klinge brothers are on a mission to find out. And they aren’t testing these theories in ordinary places. Instead, they are tackling some of America’s most haunted locations – including Tombstone, Ariz., home to some of the most violent deaths in history and a hotbed of activity, and the Shreveport Auditorium, where Elvis got his start and may have not left the building.

We will let you know when the show will actually premiere.

Yes that is right, this Friday Zak, Nick and Aaron head to Ione, California for an investigation in a condemned building known as Preston Castle.

The castle has a dark history as a former reformatory that housed angry juvenile offenders and abandoned children. It is the sight of an unsolved murder, countless instances of corporal punishment, and the scene of many tragic deaths due to ravaging epidemics.

The webisode documentary will be in three parts and will show their return to Bobby Mackey’s. Purported to be the portal to hell, Bobby Mackey’s Music World has a dark past that includes unrequited love, murder, and satanic rituals. Their first visit was a warning, this time the spirits mean business.

The Movie. I’m am proud and excited to finally deliver the news that Chad Calek and I are in production for an upcoming feature film. That’s right, a movie. It is about the journeys we face as paranormal investigators, where we come from, and the people affected along the way. We will confront a life-long haunting that has terrorized so many, and hopefully, win the war that we’ve been fighting for so long.

The entire journey is being filmed and soon you will be able to come along with us.

This is something that Chad and I are doing together and that we have complete control over. We believe in it so much that we turned down offers to have it bought and produced by a third party. This is something we decided needed to be done ourselves. It’s a privilege to be doing this with my friend, Chad.
