<p>SpectraSoft has launched the latest update of its rehab documentation system: <a href="http://spectrasoft.com/products/dp.php">DocuPRO 10.2</a>. The updated version features time-saving tools designed to help physical therapists spend less time on charting and more time treating patients.</p>
<p>DocuPRO features <a href="http://spectrasoft.com/products/dp-templates.php">branching-logic templates</a> that allow therapists to check off items from pick lists to note measurements, observations, treatments and recommendations. This eliminates the time-consuming task of writing out every aspect of the patient encounter, although the system also allows for free-text entry anywhere in the chart. The selections and text are then converted into complete charts and summaries with full English sentences using language from the APTA guide to practice terminology. </p>
<p>Several new features added to DocuPRO 10.2 help therapists complete documentation even faster:</p>
<p>•	Print reports directly to PDF. A PT practice can eliminate much of the time now spent printing and faxing summaries to physicians and insurance companies, as well as the cost of paper and filing space.</p>
<p>•	Work anywhere &#8212; even away from the network. DocuPRO&#8217;s exclusive Sync feature lets a therapists take a notebook or tablet PC off the network to work on cases from home or on the road. New documentation is automatically added to the office network when the PC is reconnected.</p>
<p>•	Save time charting by exception. DocuPRO&#8217;s Stored Value Templates cut charting time on common diagnoses where the treatment plan is nearly identical in most cases. For example, a therapist can save a completed template for a classic ankle sprain, then pull up that template in the future any time he treats a patient with an ankle sprain. All of the values are already entered, and the therapist simply enters any exceptions to the stored values. </p>
<p>•	Generate home exercise plans in seconds. DocuPRO is available with a PhysioTools module &#8212; the world&#8217;s best-selling home exercise resource for physical therapy. A therapist simply clicks on a menu to select exercises to review and print for the patient. </p>
<p>The updated physical therapy documentation software also makes it easier to edit page headers to contain specific information helpful to the practice; therapists can create and share templates more easily as well. </p>

<p>I have deployed AppointmentsPRO within this very busy Workplace Counseling service since January 2005. Prior to the introduction of this system, tills service was struggling to contain the demands placed upon it whilst also complying, with its Service Level Agreement with the employer.</p>
<p>In the year immediately before the deployment of AppointmentsPRO, we spent a further £100,000 on external therapists in order to ensure compliance with our Service Level Agreement. Within the first six months of using AppointmentsPRO, the demand upon the service grew exponentially, yet we were able lo schedule our time so efficiently that we made no call upon external therapists. Thus AppointmentsPRO quickly paid for itself and saved the service a very significant amount of money whilst also responding to increasing demand.</p>
<p>The cost savings have continued with the deployment of the text message reminder system. This has taken our DNA (Did Not Attend) rate from 16% to under 7%. The system is excellent at helping us prevent wasted and costly therapist time.</p>
<p>The reporting structures within AppointmentsPRO are excellent. They easily adapt to the unique nature of our service, helping us to provide highly accurate and relevant data to this very large Organisation. Through those reporting structures, I can demonstrate to the Organisation exactly what it is that it is purchasing, how the money is spent and where the added value lies for the Organisation.</p>
<p>At a clinical level, it provides accurate memory of a client&#8217;s history and journey through the service. It can carry the memory of clinical action, without the therapist or administration being burdened with having to hold large amounts of data in mind. It facilitates easy handover of the administrative function, thus enabling support staff to be interchangeable. No one member of the admin team, therefore, feels solely responsible for the continuity of service.</p>
<p>The therapists have now come to rely upon AppointmentsPRO, seeing it as a valuable tool that enables them to function competently in this highly demanding environment. No one now could conceive of functioning without the support of AppointmentsPRO.</p>
<p>The service from SpectraSoft&#8217;s support staff is excellent. It is always helpful, clearly very competent at a technical level, and yet always translated sympathetically to enable the less technically minded to understand what&#8217;s happening. I am always struck by their enthusiasm for any project that I have in mind, and they will engage to help me think about the creative application of AppointmentsPRO to the development of service provision and excellence.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TEMPE, AZ – An exhaustive 4-year study has found that SpectraSoft&#8217;s <strong>DocuPRO Rehab Documentation System</strong> boosts productivity and increases revenue for practices of all sizes. Created in cooperation with 50 clinics and over 200 therapists at a leading rehab company, DocuPRO uses branching logic to ask the therapist for key information proactively, helping therapists document cases more thoroughly and accurately with less typing.</p>
<p>The study monitored the implementation and use of DocuPRO at over 40 PT clinics that agreed to help enhance and evaluate the system. During this four-year evaluation, the average charge per encounter at the clinics increased 41%. In turn, collections per encounter grew 19%. The gains occurred primarily because DocuPRO captures charges directly from the patient chart, enabling practices to bill for legitimate items that therapists often fail to note when filling out billing slips. </p>
