So this was a pretty random thing to do... They poured the rubber duckies over the Kalakaua Bridge into the Ala Wai and had a little duck race... A charity event for Cerebral Palsey. It was a windy day and I think the winner came across the line in record time! Top 50 and last place ducks won prizes... My duck? Somewhere in the middle of the pack...

We celebrated at the new Jimmy Buffett's in Waikiki. Strange place... People walking around on stilts, dudes making animals out of balloons, a video wall with the beaches of Hawaii and a bar area complete with a simulated lava stream... Happy Birthday Kathy!

Car Takes Out Fire Hydrant in Waikiki

I was just walking down the street from my parking space shortly after 3am when I saw this scene. This is pretty much why I don't like to drive on the holidays, and why I don't walk along or stand by the curb... Some drunk is always out there ready to take you out! Too dark to see the car but it was in pretty bad shape... The emergency personnel didn't seem to be in a frenzy so I don't think anyone was still in the car, but couldn't really tell. The fire hydrant in question is (was) on Ala Wai Blvd. The fire fighters eventually got it under control and we're all safe again... This would have gone nicely with that car fire not too long ago...
