I love it how Carlis and I both decided to wear colored denim with a blue shirt the same day. I swear we don't coordinate these things...it just happens sometimes ;) This H&M pair are my "go to" jeans because they are so comfortable and I love the pop of color they add to my outfits. However, as sad as this makes me, I think it's time to retire them from the blog. I don't want to be known as the girl who always wears that one pair of red skinny jeans hahah. Oh and how cute are these flats from H&M, love them!

I've been looking for hot pink jeans for a while now. I remember how frustrating I felt finding them at Zara but they didn't have my size (blogger's nightmare!) lol, but a few weeks later I went to use my Macy's gift card I had forgotten about and found these hot pink jeans staring at me. I could feel the love between us instantly, so I decided to adopt them hahaha. I wore them out the night before for a wonderful dinner with some of our fav bloggeras with a burgundy top. The next day I decided to wear them again for brunch (yes I'm that in love) but this time dressed them down by pairing them up with this silk, navy blouse and prob the most comfortable JC wedges ever made! I also got a little too excited with the weather and opted for this scarf to serve as my coat in 40 degree weather! #FAIL lol

I seriously put this outfit together in 10 minutes or less and I call it 'beautiful disaster'! It consisted of grabbing all my current winter & spring favorite items and throwing them into a pile ... this is what you get as a result. Gotta give Katya credit for making sure I wore comfy shoes that day since we had a long afternoon of walking. Before her input, this outfit was paired up with my 5 inch booties. Thank you BFF. I would probably still be limping if it weren't for your adivice! ha

This weekend I decided to dress down a bit and give myself a break from heels. This was probably a good decision since NYFW is around the corner and we all know the beating our feet take during those insane few days - ouch! So anyway, this look is my perfect definition of a low key outfit. I love how comfortable these Madewell boyfriends jeans are, but they can look a bit too dressed down at times so I paired them up with my mom's vintage DKNY blazer to give it a more chic feel. Throw in a few fun accessories and there you have it. Cool & Comfy!

Here is a little recap of our Saturday afternoon adventures. Our day started with a special tasting at Mad Fox Brewing Company in Falls Church where we enjoyed some delicious lunch items, a full beer tasting, and the unforgettable bacon-caramel donuts (I know sounds weird, but they were truly out of this world good). If you're a DMV local, this place is definitely a must try. As a bonus, we even had a private brewery tour by the brewer himself, Bill Madden. It was fun to learn how beer is actually made and taste a few straight from a beer tank - too cool! Later we attended a trunk show of some of the best accessories in town by Shop Jeen. We were super impressed with the selection and can't wait to shop for our favorite items. Hope all of you had a fabulous weekend!

I found this maxi vest the other day and immediately fell in love with its cozy look and feel, as well as the rich cognac color. I can already tell this will become a staple piece in my closet this season and will make the cold winter months a little more bearable because as soon as I put it on, I felt like I was wearing a soft blanket - it truly was a little piece of fashion heaven. So please don't judge me if you see me waring this in every other post lol. Hope you enjoy this "down to earth" look as much as I enjoyed wearing it :)

When bloggers get together for an event, it becomes this whirlwind of fashion, photography, collaboration discussions, business card exchanges, up close accessory shots, and all of this happens while you're trying to hold your purse, sip on champagne, and take random photos at the same time -- no easy task if you ask me. Last night's CapFABB event at Madewell in Georgetown was no exception. We were glad to meet some of the newest members of our quickly growing group (welcome all), catch up with old friends, and of course, make plans for more fabulous meet ups. Being a blogger most certainly has its perks, but the best one of all is having these opportunities to meet interesting, stylish, creative people who share your same passions - each new friendship opens up a new world of possibilities, and we love every minute of it!

As most of you probably already noticed, I absolutely love colored denim and this J Brand pair is probably my all time favorite. I got them over the summer in Miami, but try to wear them every time I get the chance to -- the citrus color is so fun, the fit is perfect, and the best part is that they reminds me of fresh squeezed lemonade lol. Yesterday was another incredibly warm January day (60 to be exact) so I opted for a spring-inspired look and felt just a little bit happier knowing that spring/summer days are ahead.

I got this pretty little Mini skirt from LPM Vintage the night before and was originally going to wear it with a teal Dior vintage blazer (also from LPM), but when I woke up I felt like going for a more casual look (it was brunch after all) so I decided to layer my favorite leather jacket and trench coat together. I was also happy that the skirt looked good with black leggings. Despite the weather not being 20 degrees, it was still way too cold to be out with bare legs, at least for me! Much props to the girls who aren't afraid of some cold wind lol. C-

Our New Look + Two-year Anniversary

Dear friends & readers, today's post is a little bit different from our usual "outfit or inspiration" posts, but it is very close to our hearts for two very special reasons.

1. As you probably already noticed, we updated our logo with a look that we feel truly embodies the essence of SpicyCandyDC, and we hope you love our new and stylish "outfit" as much as we do! We were very fortunate to work on this project with our good friend, and probably one of the most talented and professional people we know, Mike Matera of Simplxity. Mike's simple process of helping us understand who we are as a brand and where we want to go from here was insightful, exciting, and just plain ol' cool! When we decided to work with him on these updates we knew we wanted to take our brand to the next level, but never did we expect for this process to be so eye-opening and fun. So we want to use this opportunity to extend a special Thank You for all of the hard work that went into creating this new look and for our awesome Portfolio (we'll be happy to provide our portfolio/media kit to those interested in working with us - see our contact page for details).

2. Aside from these exciting changes to our blog's look and feel, today we are also celebrating our Two-year Anniversary...yay! Sometimes it's hard to believe that it has been that long since the first day we decided to embark on this creative journey. No words can describe how proud we are of how far we've come, how much we've accomplished, and where we are headed in this new year. So thank you for reading our blog, for all of your sweet comments, and for encouraging us to continue doing what we love most. We hope that you find inspiration in what we do as well, because that truly is our biggest gift!

Quick post from our Sunday morning venture to Old Town for a fun project we're working on right now. Old Town is definitely one of our favorite VA neighborhoods where you can find great vintage, antiques, yummy restaurants, and other fun shops. It's definitely a quiet neighborhood, but it's absolutely charming!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending a very special, Le Cirque Brunch Extravaganza at Napoleon Bistro & Lounge in honor of our friend, fabulous blogger, and the woman who's going to help us cure cancer, Dr. Carla Cabrera. It still feels surreal to call her that, but this title is very well deserved now that she officially obtained her PhD from Georgetown University! We absolutely love the combination of beauty and brains, and you must agree that this sexy lady certainly has both. In the midst of all the free-flowing champagne, incredible food, sexy tunes, and random burlesque performances, we completely forgot to take photos together, but you can check out Carla's incredible style on her blog here.

I got this vintage blouse two years ago and just rediscovered it in my closet last week - it really was a small moment of joy! Cleaning out your closet seriously feels like Xmas because of all the treasures that hyde somewhere in the back corners. I love pairing up funky 80's patterns with basics like this Zara leather belt and Joe's skinnies for a more chic look. Sometimes a lot of vintage and 80's can get a little out of control :)

I planned this outfit around my fav pair of wedge booties I got at SMU last Thursday! I also love this vintage blouse I found at Unique thrift store a few months ago. I like that it's oversized, and I think its safe to say that my fav pattern of all time is polka dots! The fur vest is actually my mom's and I love that it's not too bulky but thick enough to keep me warm in 30 degrees weather.

The best crab benedict ever! My favorite part was the artichokes in it. YUM!

South Moon Under Event + My Winning Look

Hi loves! As you know I participated in the South Moon Under and Refinery29 Holiday Styling contest a few weeks ago. The winner was announced at their party last Thursday and I was fortunate to win first place .. yay!! I seriously did not expect to win because I have never won anything in my life, so it was def a nice surprise. All the other participants had great outfits as well so I'm sure it was a tough choice for the judges. I styled my outfit at the South Moon Under/Clarendon location and my blogger friend Alejandra was sweet enough to take my photos that day. I was happy to know she also made the finals and won 3rd place. When styling this look, I wanted this holiday outfit to be fun, comfortable and not too overdone with glitter and sparkle. I opted for this comfortable vegan leather skinny pants with a zipper on the sides, a silk green blouse to stay in the holiday spirit and a classic Tuxedo blazer! I love hats so I knew I needed to incorporate this 'must have' accessory into my look so I chose this burgundy fedora hat that really gave my outfit the much needed fun twist! It was tough to pick out the right shoes but when I saw the sparkly pumps, I knew it was the missing piece I was looking for to complete my Holiday party look.
I want to give a BIG 'THANK YOU' to all my friends and readers who voted for my outfit. I'm super excited to go back to South Moon Under and use my $300 certificate so that I could create more outfits to share with all of you!
