Here are some BTS photos I took at the latest lookbook I produced with the help of an amazing talented team! Making lookbooks is a lot of fun but there is always challenges you have to get trough to get the job done. I'm thankful we had a decent day to shoot outdoors, it wasn't terribly cold or terribly sunny, It rained towards the end but everyone kept a good attitude and we managed to capture some amazing shots! The Bishop Boutique lookbook comes out later this month. If you live in Alexandria or have plans in visiting Old town soon, you gotta make sure you stop by Kelly's store!

Say hello to the most comfortable shoes ever! I tested them out this past Sunday during an all day Cinco De Mayo fiesta and they passed the test with flying colors! Living in the city without a car has thought me that comfortable shoes are so valuable. Thank you Naya for the amazing pair! ;)

Good times with Cher! I must also give Kudos to Masa 14! you guys def know how to throw a Sunday Funday Rooftop Party. ;)

Timeless Vs. Trendy

So after wearing these H&M pants to the Rock the Vote event last Thursday, I decided to do a post with them because so many people loved them and thought they were a high end designer, and I just had to share with the world that they were only $19! I've been lusting after a good pair of striped pants ever since images of Taylor Tomasi Hill started popping up everywhere after Milan Fashion Week - I mean if one person can make a trend popular, I think she single handedly did just that. But I'm also glad I didn't jump the gun and drop the original $150+ I was planning on spending and found these instead. Anyway, the point of the story isn't my continuous obsession with this trend (which really is getting out of control), but the fact that I found the perfect pair without breaking the bank. Which brings me to my next point. Fashion doesn't have to be too expensive if you know how to mix and match the right way. One way I learned to do that this year is by cutting out a lot of clutter and unnecessary impulse purchases and only investing in timeless, quality pieces like great shoes (hence these Alexander Wangs that I wear almost every day), bags (like this Botkier Valentina I bought last year), and of course I'm lucky to own a jewelry boutique so my jewels are taken care of. So when it comes to trendy pieces like these pants, I feel much better spending $19 not $190 because I know that as much as I love them right now, the trend probably won't last past this summer. To me, fashion is as much about experimenting with new trends as it is building a good base. If you learn to reach that perfect balance you're one step closer to style bliss - or so I like to tell myself! :)

Not sure how you feel about flannel shirts but I like seriously LOVE them! I used to rock this type of button down shirts a lot back in the early 90's, almost wish I kept my intense collection of various shades and colors of flannel shirts which would now be considered vintage.

This outfit is seriously so comfortable! It's also a good outfit to dress up by just changing your shoes, I decided to keep it casual all day and wore my new favorite oxfords.

For my birthday brunch at Brixton (which was sooo yum btw!) I wanted to wear something fun and bright. I tend to do a lot of black and neutral shades, so when I found this skirt at South Moon Under, I knew right away it was the perfect pattern to brighten things up for my special day. The pattern also reminds me of South America - something you'd see on a bag in Peru or Bolivia - so I had to have it! I usually don't do short skirts, but it was nice to feel girly and fun that day. We had such a blast celebrating with all of our close friends, especially since the day started at DryBar with some fabulous blow outs and mimosas. A HUGE thank you to all of you who made it out and helped me celebrate in style! If I could do this every birthday, I'd be one happy girl!

We are so happy to be part of the Glam Style Squad. We just recently got a package full of stylish items specifically picked out for us from Marshalls. I have been looking for a perfect kitten heel pump for a while and these are perfect! They're comfortable, basic, and versatile. I can wear them with skinny jeans as shown above or with my office attire. The bag was also a great surprise in the package! So my obsession with black and white continues! I will probably be that person who will still be wearing everything black and white way into late spring and summer. Now that it's warm out, I see all these happy girls wearing all the happy colors, and then there is me haha. I also got a black and white dress for my b-day from non other than South Moon Under that I can't wait to show you! I guess maybe I should start buying some colorful items for spring to keep up with all the happy people (do my new blue RayBans count? Obsessed!) but until then, expect to see some more black & white with a splash of color here and there :)

This place is seriously so much fun & it has all the key ingredients for a great time. Feels like Fall in the Spring

So after weeks and weeks of non stop work and "life" in general consuming all of our free time, we finally had a quick minute (or two) to shoot an outfit post - miracles do happen people :) hahah! But on a more serious note, our schedules truly have been absolutely crazy lately so after some discussions and brainstorming, Carlis and I have decided to take the blog into a little bit of a different direction this year. It will be exciting, fresh, and a little bit more manageable for both of us.... but more on that later! For now, I want to focus on this adorable Zamrie jacket. The print definitely feels more fall, but the cut, style, and fabric is perfect for spring. Spring is always that fun transitional season (very much like fall) where you can still wear your favorite jacket and booties, but spice things up with fun prints, pastels, and lots of colors. I'm a spring baby so I definitely look forward to it every year...it's an awakening in every sense of the word. Hope all of you are as excited for spring fashion, warm weather, flowers, and activities as much as we are!!!

Chevy Chase Pavilion Grand Re-Opening

So yeah! these yummy chocolate treats were also included in our swag bags, I seriously almost shed a tear when finishing mine! , I WANT MORE!!!

Last Thursday I had the pleasure to be invited to the re-opening of the Chevy Chase Pavilion, It was my first time ever visiting this mall and it was def a great first experience. The event started on their lower level atrium in which guest had the opportunity to mingle while sipping on some bubbly and yummy appetizers, they also had a DJ which made the event extra fun. They eventually invited all the guest to enjoy an amazing dinner at Chef Bryan Voltaggio's restaurant Range, I think I'm still full from all the amazing food they kept on bringing, this also might be my new favorite oyster spot! The after party took place at Civil Cigar Lounge where at this point my partner in crime for the night Morgan and I were full, feeling good and ready for a nap. Thanks Chevy Chase Pavilion for such an amazing event, super excited to come visit again. For more photos of this event click HERE!

This past Monday we were invited to meet handbag designer, Danielle DiFerdinando at the Macy's in Wheaton Plaza, they also treated us to a nice little breakfast and gave us a little more info in how her brand, Danielle Nicole got started. Her story is truly inspirational and I'm totally in love with her bags and best part of it all is that they are ALL under $100! I have my eye on the Alexa Tote in blue and black, which one is calling your name? ;) You can learn more about her story HERE!
