Booklet can be various lengths and computational volume. You can detach the sheets and each sheet will be a full-featured smartphone with a 100% visualizing surface and computational power reduced in proportion to the total volume of the booklet.

Usage scenarios:

The 'gravity stool' designed by dutch designer Jólan van der wiel. The Gravity Stool has got its unique shape from the cooperation between magnetic fields and the power of gravity. Departing from the idea that everything is influenced by gravitation, a force that has a strongly shaping effect, designer intended to manipulate this natural phenomenon by exploiting its own power: magnetism. The positioning of the magnetic fields in the machine, opposing eachother, has largely determined the final shape of the Gravity Stool.

It is the combination of the magnetmachine with the plastic material, developed especially for this purpose, that enabled me to start a small but efficient chain of production. The forms and products are characterized by the freakisch and organic shapes that are so typical of nature itself.
As a designer, Jólan see future potential in the joined cooperative forces combining technology with natural phenomena. It is my believe that developing new “tools” is an important means of inspiring and allowing new forms to take shape.

Removable handles for IDEA Groups

We make lots of complex operations in the kithcen which sequences must be very precisely coordinated in a fairly dangerous environment – hot oven, sizzling frying pan etc. Hence designer Alberto Vasquez designed the removable handles. Alberto's aim was that the instruments must be as simple as possible. The handles are made of a special kind of refractory silicone material that can handle 300-400 Celsius, so you could probably even put it in the oven by accident without incident.

The red clip fixes the handle when you close it. It’s made of the same material but different color – it can be produced by multicomponent injection molding. The clip style of the handles provides plenty of space for water and detergent to spray, splatter and clean (in the sink or the, ahem, washer). There is a metal part inside the silicone to brace the handle. the metal part has concave incisions in its form and therefore after the injection molding as the silicone surrounds the metal part it will be wellfixed inside the polymer and so it cannot spin in the silicone when you shake the pot.

This companion device is inspired by human behavious and designed to keep you attached to it both physically and emotionally. Modai has a social side called Fundai and work side called Prodai, both being paradigms that help the user fit both work and play in their schedule. These paradigms sort incoming content into special screens and stay true to their purpose, so it’s all about work, scheduling, meetings and projects in Prodai and all about Facebook, weather, birthdays, dates and texting with Fundai. Modai also has a special avatar that represents your mood and it can also recommend you stuff to do when you’re in a certain area of the town.

For example, it may suggest you a bus schedule, lunch specials, nearby friends on the map and more. The Modai phone keeps being your friend and greets you in the morning, while keeping silent at night and only showing you the weather widget of special basic UI traits, like the sleep cycle and special alarm. The handset is also able to adapt, so if it senses you overslept, it will create a faster route to work using its GPS.
