It's been an interesting year over at STARpod.us, the new STARstream Research website. We took a look back at the past year and reviewed some of the top stories.

The top stories of 2012 as reported by STARpod.us

(STARpod.us) -- Our number one story for 2012 was the confirmation of a U.S. government psychic intelligence warning of 9/11 -- prior to the actual attack on September 11, 2001. The connections went much deeper than anyone had anticipated even a few years ago, linking NSA senior official Tom Drake, officials at Donald Rumsfeld’s Office of the Secretary of Defense, and U.K. psychic spy Chris Robinson. As expected, our readers had questions, and we attempted to answer them as best we could based upon the available information.

Based upon the information we have been provided by multiple sources, the U.S. government has been tasking “human time machines” to look into the future. The Forecasting World Events project, sponsored by the U.S. government’s Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity or IARPA helped support the STARpod.us website by running numerous advertisements for research participants.

In 2012 we published actual formerly classified documents revealing how CIA sponsored psychics had located and provided intelligence about a secret NSA facility. We also published a secret memo on the importance of Uri Geller’s psychic powers. And we published several STAR GATE documents including a once-secret briefing for the Secretary of Defense about the use of psychic intelligence.

A more disturbing revelation was the discovery that a document provided by Chris Robinson in 2011, concerning terror threats around the anniversary of 9/11, had given the name “Stevens” prior to the death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens in the Benghazi attack

The most popular topic of the year was, without question, the controversial tale of a battle with extraterrestrial alien entities at aerospace entrepreneur Bob Bigelow’s haunted Skinwalker Ranch in Utah. The story, which was first widely reported following our original 2010 article, was brought back to life when Jesse Ventura’s TruTV show “Conspiracy Theory” investigated the tale and managed to interview the reclusive Bob Bigelow on camera.

We attempted to “skin the Skinwalker” to get closer to the heart of the phenomena reported at the ranch and reexamined the tale of a battle between Bigelow’s “BA-D-ASS” defenders of Earth and an evil alien presence.

The man who promoted the story he had heard about the ranch battle, Dr. Jack Saratti, revealed the source of the tale and asked who (or what) was really behind the rumor, after our sources denied there was any truth to the tale.

Going on the record

We also interviewed the always colorful and controversial physicist Dr. Jack Sarfatti about the future of travel to the stars. And in another interview, author Gary S. Bekkum explained the concept of “human time machines.”

The end may or may not be near

In January 2012, the Doomsday Clock moved one minute closer to midnight.

NASA reported global warming was on the rise and futurist John L. Petersen peered over the precipice of change promised to arrive in 2012.

Weird science

Our Sci-Tech department reported how Oxford physicist Dr. David Deutsch had drawn a line in the sand between parallel universes and quantum pilot wave theories. Deutsch is a proponent of the many worlds of parallel universes interpretation of quantum theory, which he believes quantum computers will will eventually prove to be real.

CERN announced the possible discovery of the so-called God particle, the Higgs Boson.

Our “spaced out there” department at PsycheLeaks reported that a U.S. government official denied that President Obama had been teleported to Mars in the 1980s.

Will there ever be a real “Battlefield Earth” shootout with extraterrestrial aliens? Gary S. Bekkum explained why the future of alien extraterrestrial warfare is likely to take place in the human mind and not on a Hollywood inspired battlefield.

Don Ecker went on a “moon quest” and released pictures of unusual lunar anomalies -- and asked if an alien intelligence was responsible. Ecker also reviewed the “long saga of lunar anomalies” and asked, once again, if somebody else was on the moon. Ecker also took a look back at the history of UFO/flying saucer reports.

CIA veteran Chase Brandon went on the record about his belief that aliens really did crash in Roswell back in 1947. Brandon claimed he had seen materials about the Roswell incident while browsing a secure vault at CIA headquarters.

Stephen Bassett tied UFO disclosure to the Clinton and Obama White House. Mr. Bassett’s Paradigm Research Group reported on a petition to the Obama White House to investigate Brandon’s claims, and Bassett wrote an open letter to President Obama about the numerous claims made by former government officials concerning an extraterrestrial presence on the Earth. Bassett also announced the upcoming “Citizen’s Hearing” on government and UFO phenomena.

Danger, Will Robinson

A psychic intelligence source confirmed contact with the U. S. Department of Defense and warned Iran was secretly building a nuclear arsenal. On June 6 we reported confirmation of a March 2012 warning of a horrible increase in violence against the civilian population in Syria. STARstream Research issued a provisional alert for the threat of chemical weapons use in the Syrian conflict in June. A warning notice was issued in July after mainstream media reports appeared to confirm earlier psychic intelligence about the threat. Syria later threatened to use the chemical weapons of mass destruction against foreign invaders. By early September, European officials were warning of a “blistering response” to any use of the deadly weapons by the Assad regime in Syria. The question remains, “Will Assad unleash his chemical weapons?”

In other spy-related news, we updated the latest on the Ron Pandolfi CIA White House hamster affair, explaining why CIA hamsters might be RATS.

One mystery may have been solved when the government released secret files about an object that had arrived from space and was recovered on the ocean floor.

If the aliens are not already here, they might be on their way:

In a publicity stunt violating Prof. Stephen Hawking’s warning to avoid contact with intelligence extraterrestrial aliens, National Geographic broadcast a signal into space.

If Martians had been watching the sky they would have experienced their own version of the Roswell story when NASA’s Curiosity Rover arrived in a saucer shaped reentry vehicle that later crashed into the Martian surface.

For years the UFO community has been debating the story of a secret group of government insiders in charge of the alleged extraterrestrial visitors called MJ-12. According to some sources, the head of MJ-12 was former NSA director Michael McConnell.

And in other news ...

An American hero, Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk upon the lunar surface, passed away on August 25, 2012 at age 82.

We predicted Obama would win re-election, based entirely upon psychic intelligence.

And we looked at the sudden and unexpected resignation of CIA director David H. Petraeus over an affair “through a glass darkly” and ran an informal in-house experiment that may have predicted a lost driver’s license related to the case.

Mystery source for alien battle tale revealed

Throw them into darkness for a few hours, and then just sit back and watch the pattern." -- "And this pattern is always the same?" -- "With few variations. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find ... and it’s themselves. And all we need do is sit back ... and watch."

(STARpod.us) -- Controversy has exploded onto the Internet following a contentious episode of Jesse Ventura's TruTV program "Conspiracy Theory" exposing high strangeness at aerospace entrepreneur Robert Bigelow's Skinwalker Ranch.

At issue: a rumor of a battle with extraterrestrial aliens passed on by physicist Dr. Jack Sarfatti, based upon a story he was told by a "mysterious French woman" Sarfatti has now identified as Antoine Gigal.

In the 1990s, Bob Bigelow funded UFO investigations under a group he founded called the National Institute of Discovery Sciences, also known as NIDS.

Among the many investigations conducted by NIDS was the mysterious case of the so-called Bigelow Skinwalker Ranch in a remote region of Utah, where a variety of paranormal phenomena had been reported.

According to Sarfatti’s account, the French woman “claimed an actual gun battle at Bigelow Ranch with Bob’s paramilitary against aliens out of the wormhole with dead and wounded humans. She was very convincing and Nick Cook heard the strange tale at his private London Club with me and another witness. I debriefed Kit Green and Ron Pandolfi soon after and the story caused a big stir.”

Pandolfi and Green are well known for their interest in unusual phenomena and their history of employment with the CIA. Green confirmed he was the chair of the NIDS science board during the ranch investigation.

“I was asked by the ‘CIA’ not to pursue the story in 2004, but now Bigelow has (allegedly, it seems) opened Pandora’s Box on the story.”

The story of an alien invasion was the latest in a series of odd claims about paranormal events haunting a remote ranch in Utah.

In his 1997 article for Spirit Magazine, republished on line, Dave Perkins recounts on one hellish incident reported by the previous ranch owner.

In the summer of 1994, Terry [Sherman] (a rancher and cattle breeder) and his wife Gwen (employed for 20 years at the local bank) had found their dream ranch ... The family started noticing "glowing blue balls" moving around the property ... Terry described it as "a glass ball about the size of a baseball," which appeared to contain "two blue fluids which intermingled with each other" ... the globe retreated and the Sherman's three dogs, after some coaxing, took off chasing it in snarling hot pursuit ... They lost sight of the ball and then heard a piercing yelp -- the three dogs did not return ... The next day Gwen and Terry found three burned circles in the woods. In the center of each circle, they discovered a greasy blob of what looked to be "shortening or butter" ... Feeling that they could no longer guarantee the safety of their children, they decided to call it quits. They would put the place up for sale and leave the hellish ranch.

The ranch was purchased by Bigelow, the founder of Bigelow Aerospace, a company focused on building inflatable space habitats for the next generation of corporate-backed space explorers.

When Bigelow told the New York Times "people have been killed" by UFOs, Sarfatti resuscitated a tale he had heard at a 2004 meeting in London.

"Why this strange elaborate story? That is the issue whether the events happened or not -- either way ... The issue is where did she get her story from? Why spill it to me?" asked Sarfatti. "Who told her about the ranch if it was not [former NIDS consultant] Jacques Vallee as she alleged?"

Aliens battle BA-D-ASS cowboys at Mr. Big’s Skinwalker Ranch

“Alright people, this one’s a big one.” -- “Are billionaires and politicians plotting with ETs to run the world?”

“Hidden power -- secrets -- cover-ups -- corruption -- you think you know the whole story? Think again!” -- “It’s the most far-out, conspiracy investigation yet -- a cover-up of an extraterrestrial invasion.”

(Spies, Lies and Polygraph Tape) -- Ever since TV producer Marisa Kagan contacted me about the creepshow weirdness at Bob Bigelow’s Skinwalker Ranch, I’ve been curious how “Jesse Ventura’s Conspiracy Theory” would spin the tale of aliens and cowboys battling in a remote location in Utah.

“People have been killed ...”

It all started when aerospace entrepreneur Bob Bigelow -- “a new millenium Howard Hughes ... a mysterious, elusive billionaire ... who’s building his own private space station” -- told the New York Times of the danger from UFOs:

His space stations are not his only interest in space. “I’ve been a researcher and student of U.F.O.’s for many, many years,” Mr. Bigelow said. “Anybody that does research, if people bother to do quality research, come away absolutely convinced. You don’t have to have personal encounters.”

He added: “People have been killed. People have been hurt. It’s more than observational kind of data.”

“I get a lot of calls from a lot of people who want me to investigate conspiracies,” Ventura explains in the voice over, “This one was different from the start.”

“The Skinwalker Ranch: named for the shape-shifting witches of Native American legend.”

In the 1990s, Bigelow funded the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) to investigate paranormal reports and UFO sightings. One hot-spot of paranormal activity was centered at a remote ranch in Utah. Bigelow purchased the ranch and sent in his researchers to try to determine what was going on.

Veteran UFO investigator Don Ecker told Ventura’s team, “All the evidence, all the data that’s been collected has been locked away by Mr. Bigelow.”

Among Bigelow’s original NIDS advisors were Christopher Kit Green, a former senior CIA official, and Dr. Eric Davis, a physicist who was later tapped by the U.S. Air Force to study teleportation. Davis would later tell STARstream Research about a bizarre telepathic attack that allegedly took place at Skinwalker Ranch.

The story of mind-hacking entities told by Davis was truly disturbing, but another, potentially more explosive rumor had been spreading about an alleged battle between Bigelow’s people and something not of this Earth.

“We have a scientist from San Francisco, Dr. Jack Sarfatti, who claimed he had been told by reliable sources that there was actually an invasion of aliens on Bigelow’s Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, and he claims a number of Bigelow’s men were either killed or injured by the ETs.”

I broke the story about Sarfatti’s tale of a battle at Skinwalker Ranch in my story “Bigelow Aerospace Lethal UFO Extraterrestrial Battle Rumor Exposed.”

I reported:

San Francisco physicist Dr. Jack Sarfatti claims to have heard the rumor while visiting London in 2004, while in the company of Nick Cook, the well known aerospace journalist from the private intelligence publisher Janes Information Group.

“I was asked by the ‘CIA’ not to pursue the story in 2004, but now Bigelow has (allegedly, it seems) opened Pandora’s Box on the story.”

According to Sarfatti, the rumor of a battle between Bob Bigelow’s employees and otherworldly beings was provided by a mysterious French woman, who was accompanied by a body guard carrying a mystery briefcase allegedly containing “some kind of ‘psychotronic’ weapon based on alien ET technology.”

Following the NASA / DARPA 100 Year Starship symposium, where Sarfatti unsuccessfully attempted to push open the UFO alien visitation topic, Sarfatti dismissed the Skinwalker Ranch alien battle story after speaking to Jacques Vallee, the famous UFO researcher.

“Yes, the French woman’s story to me,” Sarfatti explained, was “a delusional distortion of [Jacques] Vallee’s meeting with her in Paris at Simon Daniel’s conference.”

Sarfatti seemed willing to entertain the alien invasion conspiracy after he watched Ventura’s Skinwalker episode?

“I remember now I told the Jesse Ventura people that there was no point me being in the show because what I heard in 2004 was only hearsay,” wrote Sarfatti. “ I did speak briefly about it to Jacques Vallee [a NIDS consultant] as I recall, at the first DARPA-NASA Starship Meeting in Sausalito Jan. 2011 … and he denied the French woman's version of what allegedly happened at Bigelow's Utah Ranch: a battle with hostile aliens popping out of a floating star gate with at least two of Bigelow's private army being killed. Eric Davis was one of Bigelow's employees at the time and he also leaked the story. This would explain why Eric got so uptight at the Oct 1, 2011 DARPA-NASA meeting in Orlando when I broached the UFO subject followed by Doug Trumbull [special effects wizard on “2001: A space Odyssey”] who backed me up the next day.”

Opening Obama Gate

The big question on everyone's mind this week is whether or not the explosive revelation of CIA Director David Petraeus' extra-marital affair will evolve into President Barack Obama's version of the Watergate scandal.

This question is of particular interest to STARstream Research since we predicted -- in January 2010 -- that the Obama administration would be impacted by a resignation over an affair under investigation by the Justice Department.

In January 2010, STARstream Research collected information using a new and untested proprietary method to obtain “anomalous mental phenomena” with the intention of predicting future outcomes during the Obama administration.

As best we were able to ascertain, the 'psychic' data predicted Obama or someone close to the White House would become embroiled in controversy over an "affair of the heart" leading to the resignation of someone close to the administration. Other related concepts identified a "military authority" and an investigation by the Justice Department involving a whistle-blower.

After a predicted shutdown of the federal government, we took another look at the notes and I decided to write a brief piece about the data in the context of rumors of inner turmoil within the Obama White House.

In my March 2010 story -- "Is There a White House Resignation in the Works?" -- I noted that the psychic data "also makes reference to 'military powers authority' associated with 'extraordinary measures' taken in response to an 'affair' which was not further identified ... Several psychic spy notes have made reference to 'affair' in the context of 'heart,' in the context of the Justice Department concerning criminal activities and 'witness protection.'"

Today's Washington Post reported that senior lawmakers are calling for an investigation of the FBI’s handling of the investigation of Petraeus. Others are raising concerns about the timing of the Petraeus resignation over an alleged extramarital affair involving harassing e-mails immediately following Obama's re-election. Prior to his resignation, Petraeus was to have been a central witness at closed-door hearings concerning the September 11 attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The chairperson of the Senate Intelligence Committee (Sen. Diane Feinstein) told Fox News, “This is something that could have had an effect on national security."

Rep. Peter King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee told CNN, “It just doesn’t add up that you have this type of investigation. The FBI is investigating e-mails, the e-mails leading to the CIA director, taking four months to find out that the CIA director was involved.”

According to various accounts, an FBI whistle-blower alerted Rep. Eric Cantor.

“I was contacted by an FBI employee concerned that sensitive, classified information may have been compromised," Cantor later stated, "and made certain Director Mueller was aware of these serious allegations and the potential risk to our national security."

So what's the latest in 'psychic spy' data?

One source suggested a possible connection to "an object of possible significance -- found or carried in a coat pocket -- rectangular in shape. Could be a pocketbook or pocket camera / cell phone. May be related to classified materials and/or 'suggestive' images. Possibly lost, stolen or sold on the black market."

According to reports, classified information was found on the computer of Petraeus' mistress Paula Broadwell. Exactly what was found or where the alleged classified information had been sourced is still unknown.

Fox News reports that Attorney General Eric Holder was notified of the FBI investigation into the Petraeus affair last summer, raising more questions about why Obama was kept in the dark until after the election.

Secret TIP on DARK TRACKER

“Confessions in Search of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice” — Who, or what, is the DARK TRACKER?

(STARstream Research) — I thought I’d share a “Jedi Journalism” espionage TIP with our readers from one of our previous STARstream Research investigations.

A TIP, or TRANSIENT INTERPERSONAL PHENOMENON, refers to the anomalous sharing of information by two or more persons, popularly called group-mind, telepathy or remote viewing. In general, a TIP may be any of a number of information sharing sources and methods outside the standard framework of person-to-person communication.

Back in 2009, I was reviewing handwritten notes attached to emails from 2006 for the next installment of the “Knowing the Future” series. Some of the notes had originated with a TIP.

During the file review I discovered that on April 30, 2006, I had emailed our investigative contributing writer Caryn Anscomb a personal TIP — Caryn and a friend viewed during a quasi-dream-state, standing near a vast graveyard.

I sent Caryn a picture of Arlington Cemetery to illustrate the vision.

Later, Caryn related her reaction to my TIP.

“I remember that! — I was taken aback. [My friend] and I had indeed spent a couple of hours walking through Arlington Cemetery.”

Another note in the files concerned DARK TRACKER.

What, exactly, I wondered, was DARK TRACKER? Was this a person, working behind the scenes? Was it a reference to a clandestine Internet monitoring scheme? Was this a reference to the alleged use by CIA’s Ron Pandolfi of a network trace on persons interested in UFO technologies? And what about the AQUARIUM, allegedly a group of like-minded individuals both in and out of the intelligence community who had met shortly before and after 9/11?

Recent revelations by former senior NSA official Thomas Andrews Drake and his British associate, precognitive psychic spy Christopher Robinson of psychic intelligence shared at the highest levels of the U.S. government reinforced the mystery.

I reviewed files from June 2006 — about the same time that presidential great-granddaughter Laura Eisenhower alleged she was recruited by Richard Dell Jr. into a deep black paranormal intelligence program.

“Mother synchronicity appears to be on schedule, as usual. In the face of this I am left wondering about recent offers of new, deep background sources. I understand that the rules of the game have changed in this modern world of Internet and phone monitoring, and that Richard might have some input on how to deal with that aspect of this investigation. One must be careful with deep cover sources as to not allow them to spin the direction of an investigation, thus typically one seeks to confirm from other independent multiple sources. On the other hand, some of the players in this ‘spooky’ game may not be prepared to deal with alternative ‘sources’ such as Richard’s patrons. I am open to redirection, as I agree with Richard that the birds [members of the UFO group called the AVIARY] are not going to be of much assistance.”

And then, almost as an afterthought:

“By the way, in my notes — DARK TRACKER next to Kit’s name. Any idea?”

Sources and methods were in play, and the clock was ticking. I was reminded by my associate that a deadline was looming.

“Remember boys, I have a timeline — that runs out November. If I don’t go the right course I’ll be heading back to the deep blue sea, taking the message with me. The clock is ticking and still no Rainbow Path in sight.”

My associate’s direction to that point had, apparently, been partly orchestrated by CATFISH and SUNFISH, a couple of slippery characters from the AQUARIUM that you know better as CIA official Ron Pandolfi and his civilian proxy Dan Throop Smith. Our instructions had been forwarded, for the most part, by the CAT via the SUN, but it was a TIGER that seemed to attract the most attention.

“While that cat’s away … my DEEP THOUGHT source … sounds like ground rules are going to be imposed shortly. More later, as I deem appropriate. I have to contemplate the meaning of life, the universe and everything.”

We were breaking ranks with our handlers and prepared to play both sides in a gambit to divide and conquer.

My associate replied:

“Our merry band is coming to a crunch situation. Although I don’t advocate disclosing confidentialities, as a rule, there are times when the bull has to be taken by the horns and given a neck twist … It seems to me that we are little more than unpaid agents.”

Yet, we felt we were closer to the alleged insiders than ever before.

“I need to know everything that you know … you are in the best position to move things along. That is my present opinion, based upon sketchy available information; mostly inferred from a few communications recently sent my way. I cannot violate deep background without losing a potential high value asset. Another possibility is interception of the messages regarding reciprocity. That may be a coincidence? What happens next may hinge on your confirmation of ‘deep background’ as an additional source. Should you choose to write about this then there is Dan and yourself, the minimum number of sources traditionally required to confirm.”

I had been contacted by a new source I called DEEP THOUGHT, with a tantalizing offer of new information, but only on “deep background” with absolutely no attribution. And I had confirmed DEEP THOUGHT’s identity and relationship to the U.S. Intelligence Community in official government records.

“Absolutely Cadavers”: Roswell is Dead, Long Live the Roswell Mystery

Time runs our on Stephen Bassett’s latest White House petition to reopen the Roswell crashed flying saucer case.

With only 977 electronic signatures and 24,023 more needed by 10 October 2012, Paradigm Research Group founder Stephen Bassett’s latest attempt to engage the Obama White House on the topic of extraterrestrial visitors has come to an end.

Bassett has been attempting to use the White House “We the People” website to reopen long-standing questions related to government tales of unworldly visitors from somewhere “out there.”

The primary anecdotal evidence provided by Bassett to the White House website come from government officials who have gone on the record concerning their belief in a conspiracy to cover-up involvement of the U.S. government with Extraterrestrial Biological Entities (EBE or EBEN).

Lt Col. Philip Corso (USA): “I came into possession of the Roswell File. This file contained field reports, medical autopsy reports and technological debris from the crash of an extraterrestrial vehicle.”

Capt. Edgar Mitchell (USAF/NASA): “Roswell was a real incident, and that indeed an alien craft did crash, and that material was recovered from that crash site.”

Gov. Bill Richardson: “The mystery surrounding this crash has never been adequately explained – not by independent investigators, and not by the U.S. government.”

Chase Brandon (CIA): “It was a craft that clearly did not come from this planet.”

Lt. Col. Richard French (USAF): “There were actually two crashes at Roswell.”

And to the above list we would add former CIA official Dr. Christopher Kit Green, who heard similar stories from senior government officials (see my book “Knowing the Future: The UFO Spy Games” and Mark Pilkington’s “Mirage Men” for the details).

Mr. Bassett identifies various political issues related to the alleged government cover-up, including “Government Reform, Science and Space Policy, and Technology and Telecommunications.” The serious side of all three issues is the misuse of national security to cover for government waste, fraud and abuse of secrecy. (As an example, see our story about former NSA official Tom Drake.)

At his website, Bassett noted, “The statements of these distinguished men directly contradict the White House’s written statement of October 22, 2011.”

Big Brother is Watching: The Future

Big Brother is watching us, and he wants to know our future.

(STARpod.us) — There is an article at BBC News about the latest in High Definition Closed Circuit TV cameras and public privacy issues.

“Surveillance cams now offer up to 29 megapixels, surpassing many cameras used by professional photographers … It’s the ability to pick out your face in a crowd from a camera which is probably half a mile away… Manufacturer’s figures suggest there will be 129,299 HD CCTV cameras in the UK by the end of 2012 … that number would rise to over 3.7 million by 2016.”

It’s just another step towards the electronic global village, where every public action taken by every citizen will be monitored by artificial and human intelligence.

And over at Forbes, Andy Greenberg reports “‘pen register’ and ‘trap and trace’ orders, which watch only who a surveillance target communicates with rather than the content of his or her communications — and therefore don’t require a warrant — were aimed at more than 80,000 Americans in 2011.”

It seems as soon as the technology becomes available, the powers-that-be deploy it immediately to keep an eye on us, while keeping the details of their own actions veiled in official secrecy.

Now imagine if the spy tool kit included the ability to recreate so-called psychic remote viewing using man-made technology.

If you think the idea hasn’t crossed the minds of at least a few government officials, well, you’re wrong.

Indeed the idea has been around for a long time. Back in 1999, Dr. Paul Werbos, a program director in the Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation gave a talk on the nature of the mind and included his thoughts on remote viewing.

“Many people at this conference have expressed hope that quantum mechanics might explain things like remote viewing or like the collective unconscious of Jung — wild, crazy things. I would like to point out that no form of quantum mechanics can explain something like remote viewing. It doesn’t matter whether you take Bohmian or my kind or Schwinger’s kind or Copenhagen … because all these different forms of quantum mechanics produce about the same quantum electrodynamics … they yield the same predictions, essentially, for the case of quantum electrodynamics (QED). If you consider electrodynamics, that is not enough to generate remote viewing. We know what is possible with QED. The world has spent billions of dollars trying to use QED in the military to see things far away. We cannot do it. So if you want to explain strange things like remote viewing, the only way is by assuming strange force fields and strange signal processing . You have a choice. There is a great chasm. It is a binary choice. You cannot do it a fuzzy way. Either you give up on these phenomena — you give up on all that stuff — or else you have to open yourself up to really crazy things, much more than just quantum theory.”

Strange force fields and strange information processing: both were at the core of an idea attributed to scientists from the old Former Soviet Union about propagating spin lepton and torsion fields that some Russian para-physicists believed might explain the strange ability for gifted psychics to report details of events and places outside of the range of ordinary human perception.

Another idea that has been widely discussed is the possibility of “backwards time” — the idea that our ordinary experience of causes leading to effects masks another direction of time, one that moves information from the future into the now.

Dr. Werbos later addressed this idea, writing:

“The paradoxes of quantum theory can be understood as the result of causality running backwards through time at the microscopic, quantum level … Various people went on to argue that new evidence (from Libet, Radin and Bierman) shows that the brain can respond 1/4 of a second before a stimulus … parts of this evidence were surprisingly convincing to me, personally, and they posed more acutely the need to revisit the concept of SSRN [a superfast recurrent network] and backwards [time] causality.”

If scientists were someday able to recreate this anomalous strange ability of the human mind to witness events before they happen experimentally — what I have called the human time machine — then it would be possible to create technology that receives messages from the future.

And if that ever happens, poor old Schrodinger’s quantum cat — stuck in a superposition of being alive and dead at the same time — could be in even deeper trouble.

Meanwhile, as confirmed by former senior NSA official Tom Drake on Coast to Coast AM, there is evidence of extraordinary human precognitive abilities of the mind, taking place in a highly non-linear space — experiences of strange fields and strange information processing.

But are those fields a product of mother nature, or is there something alien lurking in the shadows of the mind?

Former NSA Official Tom Drake Confirms UK Psychic Spy 9/11 Warning on Coast to Coast AM

NSA whistleblower and former senior intelligence official Thomas Andrews Drake went on the record about U.K. psychic spy Christopher Robinson during an interview with investigative reporter George Knapp, on the popular late night talk radio show Coast to Coast AM.

Drake told Knapp that Robinson, a well-known British psychic spy, had warned American authorities of a plot to crash airplanes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center prior to the actual attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Coast to Coast AM radio program is syndicated to more than 500 radio stations across the United States, and is also heard on Sirius XM satellite radio.

“It wasn’t just the wheels came off the constitution, we were in an entirely different vehicle.”

Drake told the story of how he had been compelled to defend the U.S. Constitution against abusive disregard for the rights of American citizens by the National Security Agency following 9/11, which eventually resulted in an indictment under the Espionage Act for whistleblowing and providing unclassified information to a reporter from the Baltimore Sun. The government dropped all ten counts against Drake at the last minute, and Drake agreed to settle for a minor charge of unauthorized use of a government computer, which he compared to using Facebook at work.

I assisted in making the connection between Knapp and his Coast to Coast Producer to Mr. Drake, hoping that Drake would confirm to a national audience information STARstream Research had received from other sources concerning Mr. Robinson’s pre-9/11 warning to American officials.

In the interview, which took place during the late night and early morning four-hour time slot when most American’s are asleep, Knapp asked Drake, “Among the warnings about 9/11 were some unconventional sources — psychics — there’s one in Britain in particular, I think you’re familiar with him, and warnings that something was about to happen, do you give that kind of stuff any credence?”

Drake firmly responded:

Yes. What some people call anomalous phenomena. I got to know Chris Robinson, who’s a precognitive psychic, his unique ability — it’s still not well understood — it’s kind of in a non-linear space — he certainly, and he was having these dreams, and one of the dreams he had was the towers being hit, as well as a number of other things; you know, he dreamed of these dogs — which were symbol of terrorist activity. I’m well aware, and I’ll say it here, I’ve said it to others, but I’ll say it in a little bit more detail — that information — he’d actually gone to the U.S. Embassy — and he had also gone to authorities in the U.K. That information was openly shared with U.S. authorities PRIOR to 9/11 — and it was ignored.
Knapp then asked Drake, “Were you ever party to conversations within NSA about psychic phenomena — psychic abilities as being a tool, an intelligence tool that could be valuable or are you able to talk about that?”

Well — you’re in a very linear environment — you’re in an environment that is bound by computers and programming — and a highly bureaucratic organization at that. Introducing any kind of evidence that’s outside what some would call the bounds of scientific inquiry or the scientific method — especially when it’s non-linear — is like pooh poohed at — but I want you to know there was a number of people I met — not just NSA — other programs we haven’t even mentioned yet, that were, that knew that something wasn’t right — they knew that there were things going on, and they were using other innovative means that were piecing together information.

There’s actually some stuff that had never been revealed — I won’t go into all the details here — some things that even al Qaeda was doing to flag its activities on a worldwide level to send messages.

And I was involved in teams and bringing this to the attention of certain people as an other means of bringing intelligence to the fore and you can act on it. It was all rejected.

I met Chris Robinson — he didn’t even know who I was — I had to be very careful in terms of who I associated with — but I had met Chris Robinson when he was on a trip — one of the trips that he made to the United States — and I heard, I heard the story — I mean, I accept precognitive psychic abilities — given my — there’s other history that I am aware of — is something that does exist, and its not something — a lot of people pooh pooh it, a lot of people dismiss it — but it’s certainly legit.

But you can imagine, in this kind of, this highly bureaucratic structure — a structure that is still based on a cold-war mentality — a very rigid structure — very hierarchical — this type of thinking is so — I mean there’s not even an “out-of-the-box” for it — it’s like, completely dismissed.

George Knapp to Interview Former NSA Official Tom Drake on Coast to Coast AM

I am pleased to announce investigative journalist George Knapp will be interviewing former senior NSA official Thomas Andrews Drake on Coast to Coast AM, tonight, Sunday, September 16, 2012 (or very early Monday morning if you're in the central or eastern time zone in the U.S.).

George Knapp is one of the best investigative journalists in the paranormal/anomalous phenomena and UFO fields, and it was my previous good fortune to have been George's guest on Coast to Coast, once in January 2009 and again, with Dan Throop Smith, in December 2010. (And it would be remiss of me to fail to mention another superb Coast to Coast AM host, George Noory, who interviewed me in November 2009.)

As explained at the Coast to Coast Am website:

Tom Drake "was charged with ten counts of mishandling documents when he blew the whistle and questioned the legality of domestic spying by the National Security agency. He'll join George Knapp to discuss how all of the original charges against him were dropped after he rejected several deals to 'plea bargain with the truth ... Drake accepted a misdemeanor plea agreement for exceeding his authorized use of a government computer. The Department of Justice had been pursuing Drake for alleged violations of the Espionage Act that might have sent him to prison for up to 35 years. But the government withdrew the evidence supporting several of the central charges after a judge ruled Drake would not be able to defend himself unless the government revealed details about one of the National Security Agency’s telecommunications collection programs."

You may recall Mr. Drake from a series of articles I wrote about an alleged psychic spy program run out of the NSA, based upon two independent sources' accounts.

The first source told investigative author Gus Russo about a secret deep black paranormal program managed by NSA Signals Intelligence, back in 2007.

Later, our second source, Christopher Robinson of the United Kingdom, went on the record about experiments he conducted with U.S. intelligence following 9/11. Robinson had attempted to warn U.S. authorities about the use of airplanes as weapons of mass destruction based upon psychic paranormal dreams, hours before the attacks took place that fateful Tuesday morning. Among the various intelligence officials Robinson met during his trips to the United States was Tom Drake; however, at the time Robinson had no idea Drake worked for and was a senior government official at NSA.

Chris Robinson learned about the NSA connection when Drake's Espionage Act indictment made international news, and was eventually featured in a special investigative report by CBS News 60 Minutes with Scott Pelley, following an excellent article by Jane Mayer in The New Yorker.

Spies, Lies and Whistleblowers

Is there an extraterrestrial presence? Are there aliens living among us? Does the government possess advanced alien machines and are they reverse engineering them? And if so, where are the whistleblowers?

The above are the kind of questions often asked by readers of this blog.

In the 21st Century battle for control of information, we have seen massive classified document dumps, unusual and bizarre claims from former government officials, heavily redacted officially declassified government documents, and more.

But to date, no one has produced any kind of documentation linking conspiracy theories of a massive government cover-up of an extraterrestrial alien presence.

And no one has been charged under the Espionage Act for leaking government secrets concerning an extraterrestrial presence, unlike what happened to senior NSA official Thomas Andrews Drake after he secretly contacted a reporter for the Baltimore Sun to blow the whistle on NSA mismanagement.

Numerous former government officials have come forward with strange tales of extraterrestrial contact.

The most notorious example involved two 'birds' from the so-called AVIARY -- alleged former government intelligence officers who appeared on Fox TV in 1988 during a special program called "UFO Cover-up? Live!"

In the early 1990s, Laurance Rockefeller pursued UFO-related information from the Clinton White House.

In the late 1990s, several persons came forward about odd goings on in government related circles. Catherine Austin Fitts 'outed' strange allegations she heard at John L. Petersen's think tank The Arlington Institute.

"In 1998, I was approached by John Peterson, head of the Arlington Institute, a small high quality military think tank in Washington, D.C. ... John asked me to help him with a high level strategic plan Arlington was planning to undertake for the Undersecretary of the Navy ... I met with a group of high level people in the military in the process --- including the Undersecretary. According to John, the purpose of the plan --- discussed in front of several military or retired military officers and former government officials--- was to help the Navy adjust their operations for a world in which it was commonly known that aliens exist and live among us ... When I attended one of my first meetings, I joined in discussion with about ten people which included James Woolsey, former head of the CIA in the Clinton Administration, Napier Collyns, founder of Global Business Network and former senior Shell executive, Joe Firmage, John, and other members of the Arlington board."

Over the years, we have heard rumors connecting Mr. Petersen's activities to various highly placed persons in the government. Perhaps the most interesting connection has less to do with UFOs and extraterrestrial aliens and more to do with something the government already has confirmed in the official record: a fascination at the highest levels with 'weaponizing' paranormal phenomena.

"It Came From Outer Space"

When is a sunken UFO not a UFO? When it’s a SECRET package dropped out of the sky by an American spy satellite. And now the story can be told.

Over the years, numerous classified government programs have become attached to tales of UFO encounters by American military forces.

One such tale was attached to the tragic loss of a Soviet nuclear-armed missile launch submarine that sank with all hands on board in March 1968. The heart of the mystery was the recovery of at least some of the wreckage from the bottom of the sea by the CIA Glomar Explorer platform. Questions were later by raised by UFOlogists when a CIA psychic spy reported mental ‘observations’ of flying discs stalking Soviet submarines.

American intelligence recognized the potential to use UFO tales as cover stories for their real-world activities as far back as the early 1950s, when CIA Director W.B. Smith noted the utility of flying saucer sightings for psychological and counterintelligence operations. And over the years since, CIA and other American intelligence organizations have, according to declassified public records, also engaged in investigations of paranormal phenomena, like the above mentioned psychic ‘remote viewing’ for intelligence collection, leaving a confusing trail of psychological and real-world operations in the official government record.

In 1972, the U.S. Navy submersible Trieste II recovered a valuable object from the depths of the Pacific Ocean.

Based upon his research into the Glomar Explorer recovery operation and the mystery of the sinking of Soviet Golf-II submarine K-129, conspiracy author Ken Sewell concluded that the Trieste II had recovered an object two years before the CIA arrived on the scene with their massive ocean-going platform.

Author Sewell reported that the object recovered by the Trieste II had been stored in an on-deck refrigeration unit and placed under manned guard. The need for refrigeration only added to the mystery -- had bodies been recovered? And what, exactly, was under guard?

Sewell’s report was, it turns out, only half right. The Navy -- and the CIA -- had indeed sent the submersible Trieste II to retrieve a valuable object from the depths of the Pacific. And, as some UFOlogists suspected, what they found on the ocean floor had arrived from space. What was recovered, however, was neither an alien machine nor parts of the sunken K-129 Soviet submarine as suggested by author Sewell.

Of RATS and Men: Update on the CIA 'Alien' Hamster Affair

Why CIA hamsters might not be aliens, but they might be RATS (Rugged Automated Training System) ...

"The best laid schemes of mouse-like hamsters and men ... Often go awry."

A few years ago I wrote a short, humorous article about how our friend Dan Throop Smith was convinced his friend from the CIA, Ron Pandolfi, was working for the White House. "The White House Hamster Guy" closes out my mini-book "Knowing the Future: The UFO Spy Games," which is also the featured mini-series in my "Spies, Lies and Polygraph Tape" anthology.

Inquiring minds want to know: Is our national insecurity guarded by an elite team of specially trained rodents-in-residence?

You may recall that Dan is the son of the late presidential tax policy adviser from Harvard, Dan Throop Smith.

In the summer of 2009, I had several phone conversations with Dan, as he mulled over a trip to the White House gate to demand to see Pandolfi. I told Dan I didn't think this was such a good idea. Dan also related how his CIA friend had "tasked" him to investigate the small mouse-like Afghan hamster.

Concerned that Dan might find himself under arrest for making a scene at the White House gate, I emailed Pandolfi, to advise him of Dan's intention.

When Pandolfi responded, "Dan is welcome any time. We need to catch up on what Dan has learned about hamsters," adding, "Dan knows I am the White House hamster guy. He may have added things up and concluded that hamsters are aliens," I suspected Pandolfi was once again using Dan to leak information about something he was involved in at CIA.

It seems Pandolfi is a stealthy whistle-blower, and Dan is his whistle. But he blows an odd tune.

Dan may have suspected the hamster assignment was a cover story for an alien investigation, but I knew otherwise, having studied Pandolfi's previous leaks, like the story Dan spread concerning Pandolfi's investigation of an American-Chinese High Frequency Gravity Wave research program in 2007. That leak proved to be accurate when the Federation of American Scientists obtained and published online a copy of the For Official Use Only Office of the Director of National Intelligence MITRE / JASON HFGW Study, in 2008. Pandolfi and many of his associates involved with "weird science" were identified in the official government document. Predictably, the FOUO version of the document had the sensitive (and classified) information about the Chinese connection redacted -- but Dan had already leaked numerous emails between the players in the spy game.

Uncertain how to present the information to the public, I disguised the story using titles of movies made by Alfred Hitchcock as "Inside the Spy Game with the Man Who Knew Too Much."

In the emails leaked by Dan, one intelligence source wrote:

"Publicly accusing a person with seven current contracts with the Intelligence Community, four classified -- with a distinguished career in Intelligence to boot, and who is the current Chair of the Science Board for the Undersecretary of Defense for Chem / Nuclear / Biological matters -- as being in the pay of a Foreign Power who is wittingly passing them classified material …"

Pandolfi chastised me over revealing sources and methods, noting that "methods are more important than sources," which, on reflection, explains why Pandolfi is willing to burn his sources, friends and contacts as a means to an end.

Taking all of this under consideration, I suggested Dan had once again become Pandolfi's designated messenger: but what were we to make of this White House Hamster business?

Why had Dan told me Pandolfi was associated with Special Forces? And why did Pandolfi specify Afghan Hamsters?

CIA and UFOs and Roswell: An Update

Following the sixty-five year anniversary of the alleged crash of an extraterrestrial vehicle at Roswell, New Mexico, talk of CIA involvement in the U.S. government's extraterrestrial contact CORE STORY is again the focus of veteran UFO investigators.

Two stories have been driving the recently renewed interest in what The Agency knows about Roswell.

The first comes by way of Mr. Greg Bishop, who has gone on the record about the alleged identity of FALCON, the AVIARY source left in the shadows following the "UFO Cover-up? Live!" broadcast. During the 1988 Fox TV 1988 expose' two men in-the-dark introduced the public to Area 51, the MJ-12 MAJIC UFO group allegedly behind the government's UFO secrecy machine, and the tale of a human-alien visitor exchange program: AVIARY sources CONDOR and FALCON told a fantastic tale of extraterrestrial ambassadors to Washington, D.C. And during the program, the existence of a then SECRET paranormal effort run by the Defense Intelligence Agency was revealed in a briefly displayed chart that outlined the government's UFO-related chain-of-command.

Bishop recently revealed that Bill Moore of the 1980s UFO AVIARY group identified FALCON as a former CIA officer named Harry Rositzke, who conveniently died in 2002 and is no longer around to confirm nor deny his role in the infamous UFO group.

UFO-specialist Grant Cameron has written a historical review of the roles played by the AVIARY and the FALCON. Caveat emptor, but it makes for an interesting read.

The second, potentially more explosive story actually began in June, when former CIA officer Chase Brandon appeared on the ever-popular Coast to Coast AM radio program and claimed to have seen "evidence" confirming his personal belief that the Roswell crash happened as it had originally been reported: there was a recovery of the wreckage of an alien spacecraft and dead alien bodies.

Brandon, who in recent years has acted as an Agency consultant to Hollywood -- see the movie "The Recruit" for an example of his work -- was interviewed a second time on Coast to Coast AM by George Noory following major publicity from a Lee Speigel / Huffington Post story about Brandon's claim to have seen materials in a box left in a secure vault at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

Lee Speigel's headline screamed, "Roswell UFO Was Not Of This Earth And There Were ET Cadavers: Ex-CIA Agent Says."

Having now listened to this second interview, and based upon anecdotal accounts from other CIA sources to STARstream Research, and a small number of declassified documents that reference a CIA "weird desk" file collection, it is my current opinion that Brandon is actually referring to the informally collected paranormal files held by individuals at CIA. According to the declassified records, a handful of Agency "Fox Mulder" types kept personal copies of items of interest and shared their discoveries with senior officials over the years.

Another former CIA source, Dr. Christopher Kit Green, has been hinting for years that the U.S.government had made contact with "alien astronauts" on three different occasions since World War II.

I contacted senior U.S. intelligence official Ron Pandolfi, who has thus far declined to comment on the role being played by Mr. Brandon. Pandolfi has been associated in the past with alleged CIA involvement in Hollywood film projects by well-known UFO operatives.

Just Another Small Bump in the Road to Disclosure

Out of the AVIARY and into the frying pan? We take a nostalgic look back to 2006 and see how a fish from the AQUARIUM cooked the UFO SOAP OPERA’s goose. For anyone who is not familiar with the UFO SOAP OPERA, I suggest checking out Mark Pilkington's excellent book "Mirage Men" (and the forthcoming film) ...

In 2006, contributing source Caryn Anscomb dived head first where angels fear to tread: deep into the murky black waters of the UFO SOAP OPERA. At the time, the OPERA had shifted its appearance and transmogrified into SERPO, a tale of a human and extraterrestrial alien exchange program with roots back to the 1988 disclosure special “UFO: Cover-up? Live!.”

In 1988, UFO-intelligence leakers would gather together to discuss their latest strategy in a loose-knit group known only as the AVIARY. To keep things interesting, and generally more confusing, everyone was assigned a bird name for identification.

Complicating the situation was the involvement of numerous past and present intelligence officials and their associates, and presumably the need to keep clearances and avoid espionage charges (see the Tom Drake NSA whistle-blower case for what can happen when unclassified information is shared with the wrong persons). Further complicating the situation, our very own source, Ms. Anscomb of the United Kingdom, was accused of being a foreign national who was asking too many sensitive questions. At some point this too was transformed into an unsubstantiated rumor that Ms. Anscomb and some of her British associates were actually operatives for the British Secret Intelligence Service MI6.

As a result, this has been a difficult story to tell; a tale not unlike superstring M-theory, that consists in part of Mystery, Magic (or should that be ‘MAJIC’?) and Murkiness. The deeper one looks into the actors and players, the darker and less defined the story becomes. The plot thickens but cannot be divined by ordinary mortal detective work.

Thus we have uncovered a tale of our time, for all times.

It is also very clearly a tale of some serious investigative inquiries, and here we speak of threats backed by no legal recourse; as we skim the edge of this dark abyss we pause to wonder briefly how close we dare approach the rumblings without becoming trapped by the movement below. Some among us have ventured quite close and are understandably cautious. The recent problems of a certain New York Times reporter involving leaks and scandals over the secret identity of a CIA covert employee weigh in the back of our minds.

Rather than add to the ever-growing shadow of confusion, let me make one point quite clear. CIA man Ron Pandolfi, the same official of the United States Government that previously requested that STARstream Research remove specific items from a story we published and later retracted in July 2006, went on the record concerning a potential threat to the national security — perhaps involving espionage and foreign powers — and has, in his own words, acted to ‘interpret’ that threat to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. We aren’t about to release all of the messages and secrets wrapped up in this sordid affair, but we have been partially freed to tell this tale by a mutual contact — ‘our man in Washington, Dan T. Smith’ — who faithfully blogs about his misadventures with the men in black suits.

Rumor has it that Ron Pandolfi and Dan Smith are the co-originators of the nemesis of the AVIARY group: the AQUARIUM, a loose-knit group of intelligence persons and their associates who are assigned fish-names for identification.

We also made an overture to someone closely aligned with both sides of this recent scuffle, thus far without response. Giving this individual the benefit of the doubt, as he is understandably busy performing his day job, we await patiently for his expected rebuttal.

“I am of course aware of far more than what has been posted at Dan’s blog, coming from various sources. Your input is highly valued, as I am hoping for something more from you than, ‘no comment.’ Thank you.”

Meanwhile, it appears that Mr. Smith is quite willing to push the envelope, but having not quite knocked the ball out of the park, he is not quite ready to run the bases to home plate. We must give credit where credit is due, however, keeping in mind that Mr. Smith points to his intelligence connections as providing direction for his own ‘rogue’ activities. Of course his intelligence connections say otherwise. We would expect no less!

A few items posted by Mr. Smith at his blog are of particular interest. We reproduce them here for the curious reader, with permission, and without further comment, knowing that a fish or two may have been caught up in the net (or should that be the network?) and released. Others may look forward to coming out of the AQUARIUM and into the frying pan, no doubt!

Meanwhile, it smells like someone’s goose has been cooked.

U.S. intelligence services would like to know the future, and are actively recruiting on the Internet.

If you have spent any time at the STARpod.org and STARpod.us websites recently, you may have noticed an unusual advertisement featured prominently -- often near stories about the predictive powers of "human time machines."

The sponsor, whose targeted advertisements are placed by Google Adsense, is IARPA: The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity.

IARPA is the intelligence community's version of DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the agency in charge of exploring "weird science," including robotic cyborg insects and other futuristic projects for the Department of Defense.

IARPA, on the other hand, is run by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, home of the Director of National Intelligence who oversees the sixteen agencies that make up the United States Intelligence Community, including CIA, DIA, and NSA.

At DARPA's intelligence community cousin IARPA, the focus is on "high risk, high payoff" programs with the potential to provide an "overwhelming intelligence advantage over future adversaries."

Among the various concerns investigated by IARPA for the ODNI are methods of anticipating "significant social events" -- unforeseen world-changing events, like the attacks of September 11, 2001.

I have reported about how Christopher Robinson, a well-known psychic from the U.K., attempted to warn U.S. officials of the use of aircraft as cruise missiles against the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Following 9/11, Robinson met with senior U.S. officials from the Office of the Secretary of Defense who were interested in predicting future attack scenarios.

IARPA has been exploring the use of open-source intelligence -- publicly available information now widely disseminated on the Internet (tweets on Twitter, posts on Facebook, news reports, blog posts, etc.) -- to uncover trending indicators of impending events. This kind of information results in "indirectly observable" clues distributed in "diverse, openly public data" -- the kind of information that might be useful in providing the Intelligence Community with advanced warning of a major change in social dynamics, like the Arab Spring revolution last year.

The advertisements placed by Google at the STARpod websites are recruitment tools for "Forecasting World Events," an on-line experiment of the IARPA ACE (Aggregative Contingent Estimation -- gotta love those government acronyms!) program, which is managed by the non-profit MITRE Corporation. You may also remember MITRE as the home of the elite JASON scientific advisory committee, the same group tasked by CIA's Ron Pandolfi to look into the threat of 'UFO technology' in the form of High Frequency Gravity Waves.

At their website, Forecasting World Events explains the program:

"Our study will investigate various aspects of individual and group predictions to gain fresh insights into the factors that influence people’s predictions about key world events and trends. In addition, we will look at ways to leverage and integrate this information to develop more accurate overall predictions ... Our objective is to advance the science of forecasting, focusing on methods of prediction that rely heavily on human judgment. We are specifically interested in factors that shape people’s predictions, how these predictions vary depending on the person or type of question, and how the predictions of a group of people can be combined to form an accurate overall prediction."

Why It Matters: "NSA could have stopped, I say stopped 9/11."

"Why does it matter? I'll tell you exactly why it matters. Prior to 9/11, many of us, notably Christopher Robinson, were aware of plots to target the homeland of the United States of America. Robinson even reported on the use of civilian aircraft as cruise missiles to British intelligence in June 1999. And John Gannon's CIA National Intelligence Council reported on the threat of aircraft as weapons of mass destruction that same year. Richard C. Clarke, who was the White House counter-terrorism adviser, also ran a desktop simulation of a suicide attack according to notes in the 9/11 Commission Report. So why does it matter? Some of the same sources -- sources who warned us prior to 9/11, using anomalous mental perception -- have also reported mushroom clouds over American cities. Now is that something that is going to happen in our future? Of course we don't know, but the greater question is whether or not our government is prepared to take action to prepare, based upon the intelligence at hand. And now we know -- we have a pretty good idea -- many in the government knew al Qaeda might conduct suicide missions here in the United States -- and CIA knew about two al Qaeda operatives who had arrived in Los Angeles prior to the 9/11 attacks. And they didn't share that information with the FBI -- it's the FBI's responsibility to deal with domestic threats, not CIA. So again, you have to ask: What will happen the next time we are faced with terrorists using weapons of mass destruction?" -- Gary S. Bekkum, from an unpublished interview.

Thomas A. Drake is a former senior National Security Agency official. A few years ago Drake lost his career, and shortly thereafter was indicted under the Espionage Act, for whistle-blowing on NSA mismanagement following the Intelligence Community failure to prevent 9/11.

In a recent interview, now published at the Huffington Post, Drake cited NSA management at the core of the 9/11 failure:

"I can't say fully, because it's classified. But I showed that NSA knew a great deal about the 9/11 threats and al Qaeda, electronically tracking various people and organizations for years -- since its role is to collect intelligence. The problem is, it wasn't sharing all of the data. If it had, other parts of government could have acted on it, and more than likely, NSA could have stopped, I say stopped 9/11. Later, it could have located al Qaeda -- at the very time the U.S. was scouring Afghanistan."

When the Obama Justice Department went after Drake with the Espionage Act -- their poorly constructed case fell apart a day before going to trial, after causing Drake years of needless suffering -- they revealed details about Drake, his former senior NSA position, his role at Signals Intelligence, and other information that may have compromised a deep black operation at NSA.

Another NSA source had previously identified Signals Intelligence as the home to a secret effort to obtain a scientific understanding of paranormal extraordinary human abilities.

Among the persons recruited to provide the government "psychic" insight into future threat scenarios, and to "remote view" locations of interest (including secret underground Iranian nuclear installations) was Christopher Robinson, the same man who tried to warn British and American intelligence about the threat of civilian aircraft as cruise missiles.

Robinson immediately recognized Drake as the man he had worked with for seven years, from shortly after 9/11 until Drake lost his job over his NSA whistle-blowing.

In the interview, Drake explains, "I can't say fully, because it's classified."

We are left wondering if the classified information included warnings sourced from a deep black NSA psychic spy operation.

Under the Spell of an Alien 'SuperMoon'

So why did we cancel our lunar missions? No plans for more lunar missions in America’s future. Decreased funding for our once thriving space agency steadily negates any definitive answer to this ever provocative moon mystery, as well. -- Don Ecker, Dark Matters Radio

Conspiracy theorists have pointed to alleged 'evidence' to support the claim of an Alien Moon Base, but someone who should know -- Apollo 14 Moonwalker astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, a believer in alien visitation to the Earth -- says NASA has not been hiding evidence of alien visitors and none of the astronauts have witnessed anything to support the claims.

I asked Dr. Mitchell about Ingo Swann, one of the CIA's extraordinary human performance superstars in the 1970s, who once held a TOP SECRET security clearance and trained psychic spies for the military. In 1998, Swann self-published a small book about extraterrestrial visitors and his own personal encounters which began while he was working at the CIA-sponsored Stanford Research Institute on anomalous mental perceptions -- psychic remote viewing of targets in the Soviet Union.

Swann was contacted by a mysterious "Mr. Axelrod" (a pseudonym) who had a target he needed to be 'remote viewed' -- typically this was done by providing coordinates of the location. When Swann agreed to have a look -- after being blind-folded with a bag over his head and strip searched and brought to a secret underground location -- he was shocked to discover the target was on the lunar surface, and there, before his mind's eye, were humanoid extraterrestrial beings staring right back at him, using the powers of their mind's eye. And according to Swann, whatever these beings represented, they appeared to have super-human powers of perception far beyond anything he had previously encountered.

"Very suspicious of Ingo's claims about black ops and aliens on the moon," emailed Mitchell, who then added, "It is certainly possible and even likely that ETs have had operations on and around the moon, but nothing that we (NASA astronauts) have seen and reported."

This was not exactly what lunar conspiracy theorists wanted to hear, but at least Mitchell left the door open for otherworldly possibilities.

"I know of quite a few credible stories of ET communication with earthlings."

Creep Show Weirdness at Skinwalker Ranch? Or why I turned down an interview with "Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory"

Contrary to popular Internet folklore, I don't 'do' conspiracies ... My personal focus has been (and remains) on uncovering 'real' government investigations into inexplicable phenomena -- the so-called "government phenomenology problem" -- and emerging trends in science and technology. (The CIA-released STAR GATE files are a wealth of information about how the government works high-strangeness inside the intelligence community.)

On the other hand, a conspiracy can be a lot of fun, so I was intrigued when television producer Marisa Kagan contacted me last week. Marisa was seeking information on an alleged battle between aerospace entrepreneur Bob Bigelow's staff and extraterrestrial aliens at his remote ranch in Utah. You know, the kind of far-out information that makes for a really good conspiracy.

What follows is, more or less, the reason why I turned down Marisa's offer of "a possible interview opportunity" to appear on Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory on TruTV. But first, a bit of background on the high-strangeness alleged to have taken place, taken from a story I wrote for STARpod.org.

If you're a fan of the TV series Lost, then you're probably familiar with "the smoke monster," the strange power that manifests itself in odd sounds heard moving through the jungle; is seen moving through the woods knocking down trees along the way; and experienced in close encounters as a weird polymorphic black smoke, capable of lifting people up in the air and smashing them to their deaths. People walking through the jungle are often surrounded by the sounds of whispering voices, or experience mysterious encounters with persons living and dead, as well as insects and animals.

Although the TV series ended recently, leaving many unexplained threads dangling for fans to debate for years to come, the mysteries left behind by the writers of Lost are an odd mixture of weirdness from science fiction and speculative physics, with core elements of the supernatural.

All in all, it sounds not too far removed from reports of the strange phenomena alleged to take place at Bob Bigelow's haunted ranch in Utah.

Bob Bigelow's company, Bigelow Aerospace, is on the verge of becoming America's foremost private space venture.

According to reports, as quoted by the Bigelow Aerospace website, Bigelow has "already spent about $180 million of his own money so far and has said he is willing to spend up to $320 million more" to develop his space stations and lunar base concept.

When it comes to UFO sightings, the FAA advises Air Traffic Controllers, "Persons wanting to report UFO/unexplained phenomena activity should contact a UFO/ unexplained phenomena reporting data collection center, such as Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies."

Bob Bigelow, following shortly after physicist Stephen Hawking's warning to avoid the alien extraterrestrials at all cost, recently told The New York Times that UFOs can have a fatal attraction.

"People have been killed. People have been hurt. It’s more than observational kind of data."

Among the many odd experiences reported by the team during their stay at Bigelow's haunted ranch -- including the story of how the rancher's dogs were disintegrated when they chased after one of the many unidentified phenomena -- was an encounter with what appeared to be a strange being emerging from a tunnel which appeared right out of thin air.

Stranger still -- and this could easily have been a scene from 'Lost' -- one of the physicists on the project was frozen in place by a weird telepathic message beamed into his brain by a dark shadow creature.

The best information I received from my own sources does confirm very strange goings-on at the ranch. The contentious issue that made me decide to turn down the interview request involved a second-hand rumor concerning an alleged battle between Bob Bigelow's staff at the ranch and a marauding band of hostile alien extraterrestrial invaders. Once it became apparent that Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory intended to make the alien battle story the focus of their conspiracy, I knew I could not contribute.

In fact, I had already reported on the rumor and later debunked the story in another article written for STARpod.org:

It sounds like a Hollywood plot for a 21st century remake of Earth versus the Flying Saucers.

San Francisco physicist Dr. Jack Sarfatti claims to have heard the rumor while visiting London in 2004, while in the company of Nick Cook, the well known aerospace journalist from the private intelligence publisher Janes Information Group.

"I was asked by the 'CIA' not to pursue the story in 2004, but now Bigelow has (allegedly, it seems) opened Pandora's Box on the story."

Sarfatti came forward with the rumor following a remark made by billionaire space maven Bob Bigelow to the New York Times about the dangers of UFOs:

"People have been killed. People have been hurt. It’s more than observational kind of data."

The New York Times had interviewed Bigelow about his recent efforts to build a private space station. In the article, Bigelow was quoted about the lethality of the UFO phenomena, but the basis for Bigelow's statement was not pursued.

According to Sarfatti, the rumor of a battle between Bob Bigelow's employees and otherworldly beings was provided by a mysterious French woman, who was accompanied by a body guard carrying a mystery briefcase allegedly containing "some kind of 'psychotronic' weapon based on alien ET technology."

The problem with the story was it was, in the end, just a story.

Following the NASA / DARPA 100 Year Starship symposium, where Sarfatti unsuccessfully attempted to push open the UFO alien visitation topic, Sarfatti dismissed the Skinwalker Ranch alien battle story after speaking to Jacques Vallee, the famous UFO researcher.

"Yes, the French woman's story to me [see , Nick Cook and the Stapleton guy]," Sarfatti explained, was "a delusional distortion of [Jacques] Vallee's meeting with her in Paris at Simon Daniel's conference."

Yes, Bigelow's people (including John Alexander and Dr. Eric Davis) did report to us on very strange events at the ranch. Yes, there is a probable connection between Bigelow's people and the U.S. government (at least one of Bigelow's key advisers, Dr. Kit Green, would later work with DIA on emerging technology threats). Yes, Dr. Eric Davis did confirm to us an incident only briefly touched on in the book by George Knapp and Bigelow scientist Colm Kelleher, where a scientist was 'telepathically' attacked and given a warning to leave the area.

Creep show weirdness at the ranch? If we accept the primary sources' accounts, there seems to be little question that strange, inexplicable events really did take place.

A battle with extraterrestrial invaders? It does make a great conspiracy story, and should be a lot of fun. I am looking forward to watching the Bigelow ranch story through the eyes of Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory.

To Out a Spy, Use Sticky 'UFO' Flypaper

Several years ago I suggested that members of the intelligence community were playing spy games on the Internet to collect real intelligence by using a disreputable topic: government involvement with extraterrestrials and UFOs.

We now have a case example where we are -- apparently -- in possession of real world intelligence, the result of -- again, apparently -- a sticky UFO tale and open-source social networking.

The intelligence in question involves the identification of a CIA asset operating in a foreign country. If true, the information would be potentially damaging to CIA foreign collections, sources and methods.

The UFO tale in question acted as flypaper to attract real intelligence: revelation of the probable identity of a CIA-related covert operations officer working in a foreign country. It is unknown if this person was using official or non-official cover.

Our case file -- if it existed -- would include pictures of the alleged asset posted in social media, including pictures taken in the foreign country of interest, anecdotal accounts of intelligence activities and social events that allegedly took place in foreign locations.

Were we to reveal the information on the Internet, we would be at risk for violation of the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (1982):

Whoever, in the course of a pattern of activities intended to identify and expose covert agents and with reason to believe that such activities would impair or impede the foreign intelligence activities of the United States, discloses any information that identifies an individual as a covert agent to any individual not authorized to receive classified information, knowing that the information disclosed so identifies such individual and that the United States is taking affirmative measures to conceal such individual's classified intelligence relationship to the United States, shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

Recently, the citizen journalists behind the 9/11 conspiracy website SecrecyKills.org were threatened by the CIA when they were able to determine the probable identities of CIA officers using open-source information. The CIA appears to have succeeded, as the SecrecyKills website now appears to have been removed from the Internet.

Although we have no intention of revealing the probable identity of a CIA operations case worker, we have moved forward with our research into an alleged post-9/11 paranormal investigation run out of Donald Rumsfeld's Office of the Secretary of Defense.

A source did provide us with email messages referencing Christopher Mellon at Rumsfeld's Office of the Secretary of Defense (2002) where UK psychic Chris Robinson was described as a 'walk-in' source. Colonel John B. Alexander called Robinson on the morning of 9/11 just after the towers were hit, but it is unknown if Alexander was aware that Mr. Robinson had attempted to warn CIA about the 'planes as cruise missiles' plot.

Dan Smith tells us that CIA official Ron Pandolfi and former senior CIA analyst Kit Green had expressed interest in a group of twenty U.S. officials allegedly briefed on a 'phenomenology problem' -- curiously, Chris Robinson tells us he presented to the Office of the Secretary of Defense for a core group of roughly twenty senior officials.

In addition to Mellon, Linton Wells II was also cited. Mellon and Wells were both in the loop concerning U.S. foreign intelligence collection of Russian and Chinese paranormal research (one name given in declassified files was FENIKS). In the mid-1990s intelligence officials sought funding for U.S. paranormal research from Andy Marshall with the Office of Net Assessments at the Pentagon, months prior to the takeover of the DIA STAR GATE psychic spy program by CIA in 1995.

Dan Smith often refers to a meeting with Mellon's colleague Christopher Straub on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, where the 'phenomenology problem' was discussed.

Investigative author Mark Pilkington's excellent exploration of "paranoia, espionage, psychological warfare, and UFOs" -- the book "Mirage Men" -- will soon be a feature length documentary film.

This is a true story about UFOs and a government who denied their existence, then wanted people to believe in them.

Pilkington and his associate John Lundberg (see Caryn Anscomb's interview with Lundberg at STARpod.org) have been joined by new partners Roland Denning and Kypros Kyprianou to complete the film, which has been underway since 2006. According to the official "Mirage Men" blog, "the film is well on its way to completion."

The "Mirage Men" team promises to release teaser clips from the production over the next several months. The first teaser has been released on YouTube.

Based upon Pilkington's book and the first teaser, it appears that Richard (Rick) C. Doty will play a major role as a source of alleged disinformation in the film.

You may be familiar with Rick Doty from my books "Spies, Lies and Polygraph Tape" and "The UFO Spy Games," as the "fall guy" in the deliberately leaked (and staged?) email messages provided by CIA official Ron Pandolfi. According to Pandolfi, and the leaked email exchange between Pandolfi and former CIA official Kit Green, official interest in Doty revolved around the possibility that a foreign power had conducted a false flag operation disguised as a UFO-investigation, to penetrate U.S. national security installations.

In one of the numerous leaked email messages, Pandolfi wrote to Green:

I am nearly certain that Rick fabricated this entire story, and that he is Mr. Anonymous [source of the SERPO alien tales], Ms. Loscowski [an alleged source to Kit Green], and the two [alleged] DIA sources/visitors [passing classified information]. If so, Rick may just be having a good time, and we need not be concerned for national security. If not, there may actually be a network of foreign agents penetrating some of our most sensitive facilities under the false flag of a DIA operation.

The UFO Spy Games Book

In the book "Mirage Men," Pilkington describes Doty as "a Mephistophelean character" who once worked for the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI).

According to their website, the AFOSI "provides professional investigative service to commanders of all Air Force activities. Its primary responsibilities are criminal investigations and counterintelligence services ... conducting criminal investigations and providing counterintelligence services ... to identify, exploit and neutralize criminal, terrorist and intelligence threats to the Air Force, Department of Defense and U.S. Government."

At least one of our sources questioned Doty's alleged AFOSI affiliation: An off-the-record 'CIA-related' source claimed Doty "does not appear to be affiliated" with the AFOSI, after checking with an OSI contact. Our source then clarified that Doty had been Air Force Intelligence.

Perhaps Ron Pandolfi's interest in Rick Doty was catalyzed by a story told in Pilkington's book.

Pilkington writes, "I became a target ... It began with an anonymous email forwarded to me by an apparently concerned Rick Doty."

A senior DIA official, told me point blank, that a name check revealed that Mark Pilkington, a British citizen and Independent-Film-Maker, is an MI6 [British Secret Intelligence Service] source.

Followers of this blog may recall a similar rumor was passed on concerning our key 2006 British source and contributing writer, Caryn Anscomb, who is another associate of Pilkington. At the time, Ms. Anscomb was also attempting to interview Mr. Doty, who was a no-show following the rumor.

Secrets of the CORE STORY of Extraterrestrial Alien Contact

It's a favorite topic of Hollywood producers and conspiracy theorists everywhere: Are there extraterrestrials living on the moon? Is the truth really 'out there' or the aliens living somewhere in New Jersey?

My second book in the new "Knowing the Future" series explores the far-out possibility that the aliens are, in fact, already here.

Inspired by former CIA psychic Ingo Swann's tale of psychic remote viewing aliens on the moon, and his personal encounter with an extraterrestrial female in Los Angeles in the 1970s, "To the Moon and Back, With Love" examines high strangeness surrounding the personalities behind the CORE STORY of government contact with the unknown.

In the 1970s, Swann was one of America's secret weapons brought to bear against the Soviet Union: a psychic spy, personally tested by the CIA. In the 1980s, Swann held a TOP SECRET clearance, and was instrumental in training Army and Defense Intelligence personnel. Swann's psychic methods were a key component in the mind-war arsenals of the USAF, the Army, The Navy, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and many others, hidden deep inside compartments of the government. In 1995, Swann's secret army of mind-warriors were revealed by former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates (appearing as the former Director of Central Intelligence) on ABC News "Nightline" with Ted Koppel.

A few years later Swann wrote one of the most bizarre accounts in the history of the paranormal war effort, now documented by CIA sanctioned release of the once super-secret programs known as STAR GATE. According to Ingo Swann, and partially supported by documents from STAR GATE, a super-secret group, led by a mysterious "Mr. Axelrod" (his real name remains a closely held secret) put him mind-to-mind and face-to-face against an extraterrestrial avatar in human form. The story of extraterrestrial human-mind to alien-mind telepathy, a dangerous personal encounter, and a near-death experience of coming under laser fire from an extraterrestrial vehicle somewhere in the northern wilderness of Alaska, sounds like pages torn from a science fiction novel.

In "To the Moon and Back, With Love," I go beyond Swann's tales of black-ops encounters with the unknown, and explore the potential reality of extraterrestrial mind-to-mind contact.

Is there a covert alien presence interacting with the human race? Is there a spiritual dimension to the phenomena?

We look at the CORE STORY: allegations from former U.S. government intelligence officers that the U.S. government has been meeting with space-faring representatives of an extraterrestrial civilization.

Among the bizarre stories we have encountered over the years are telepathic messages given to NASA by the late Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper and Apollo astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell's allegation that the U.S. government is covering up an alien presence here on the Earth. We report on an NSA source who claims psychic spies at the agency were blocked by an unknown extraterrestrial source. We test Ingo Swann's claim with a new psychic scan of the moon, and interview Christian science fiction author Terry James about his belief that the aliens are demonic forces of supernatural evil. We look at the strange events said to have taken place at Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, including the telepathic hijacking of one of the mind of aerospace entrepreneur Bob Bigelow's scientists. We even ask if the entirety of human experience is a simulation -- could we be living in the Matrix?

According to astronaut Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, "There seemingly is a global cabal trying to keep the wraps on the ET presence for their own reasons, but it is starting to unravel and will likely come apart before long."

A global cabal? Secretly receiving their instructions by telepathic messages from the great beyond?

Google Gets One Step Closer to Telepathy With Project Glass

Google has moved one step closer to human telepathy with Google Glass, "We think technology should work for you -- to be there when you need it and get out of the way when you don't."

The idea is to create a visual display (with audio) that you can wear at all times -- taking the connected experience with you, everywhere you go. Google is testing the concept as part of their secretive Google[x] Project, where, we assume, telepathy (direct mind-to-mind global communication) is the final goal.

To promote the new concept, Google has produced a short video clip of what it might be like to use a pair of the high-tech glasses, which are designed to keep you on the world wide information highway 24/7.

Needless to say, there has already been some resistance to the idea in the media.

(Big Think ran a review titled "The New 'Google Glassess' Ad: Some Version of Hell," as an example, explaining, "I have nothing against fun gadgets or, for that matter, sensory overstimulation (one of the main reasons to live in a city to begin with), but this video makes me want to curl up on a prayer mat in a Buddhist monastery")

Our point of view is this idea is inevitable -- the whole point of technology should be to free us from mechanical awkwardness and, quoting Google, "to be there when you need it and get out of the way when you don't."

None of this compares, of course, to the full-blown (and mind-blowing numbness) of the presumed extraterrestrial alien information highway called telepathy, but should be recognized as a (very) tiny step forward in that direction. DCI Woolsey: Terror, Psychics and UFO Tales

Former Director Central Intelligence Agency (DCI) James R. Woolsey, a man with interesting ties to alternative science, was interviewed for NEWSMAX by Kenneth R. Timmerman.

Timmerman is the author of a behind-the-scenes expose' of missile technology transfer to China involving real-life X-files intelligence analyst Ron Pandolfi, who is often associated with the UFO AVIARY group on the Internet:

CIA analyst Ronald Pandolfi was the highest ranking scientist at the Agency when he visited the headquarters of Hughes Space and Communications in El Segundo California in 1996. Pandolfi was part of a team of CIA analysts tasked to do research for a new National Intelligence Estimate on PRC's military Science and Technology -- a much more exciting topic than its title might suggest.

Timmerman's interview for NEWSMAX, "Former CIA Director: Terrorist Strike within U.S. Real Threat," confirms concerns behind the 'chatter' seeping out of the intelligence community.

Timmerman asked the former DCI his about the potential for a major attack in the United States, perhaps involving a weapon of mass destruction.

Woolsey responded, "Well, I think the threat of a serious attack in the next few months [2007] is very real. It's what Mike McConnell and Mueller have said, and what Chertoff said about his gut feeling."

Based upon intelligence sourced from anomalous mental phenomena, and statements made by government officials, we previously concluded that the public was being prepared for psychological shock coming from a catastrophic disaster involving greater loss than the 9/11 events.

Woolsey continued, "A lot of people made fun of that, but I think that was a senior government official trying to communicate something without saying here's my evidence, because if he says that, he might have blown the source or method of intelligence. So I think various things that he and McConnell and Mueller and others have been saying all suggest that there's a real possibility -- now I don't know which particular terrorist group -- of something happening and possibly something very bad, late this summer or this fall [2007]."

A brief biography of former DCI Woolsey is available from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he is described as "a Vice President working with the firm’s Global Resilience clients."

According to intelligence blogger and author R.J. Hillhouse, "Almost all of the government data mining has been outsourced to corporations. The data mining controversy isn’t about the U.S. government spying on Americans. It’s about the government using big corporations as a Constitutional workarounds to spy on Americans. It’s not the government that actually sifts through our emails and phone records but companies such as Lockheed Marin, Raytheon, SAIC and Booz Allen Hamilton and their subcontractors."

Woolsey was previously listed as a member of the Board of Directors for futurist John L. Petersen's Arlington Institute. Earlier this year Starstream Research obtained a copy of a AI document for a psychic intelligence project called the "WHETHEReport."

According to the AI web site:

The Arlington Institute's project "WHETHEReport" is predicated on the idea that before catastrophic, world changing events people have intuitional dreams that anticipate those events. While there have been a number of famous people throughout history who have accurately predicted the future, it also appears that almost everyone has premonitions from time to time in the form of dreams, visions, or simple gut feelings.

WHETHEReport will provide an online portal for people to create intuition journals which they could update daily. While maintaining complete privacy and anonymity, their reports will be scanned and aggregated with the most sophisticated sense making and pattern recognition technology available today in order to create visual displays of intuition clusters designed to identify potential catastrophic events.

Woolsey has been associated with various persons involved with UFO fiascos, including 'alien-contactee CEO' Joe Firmage.

Probably the best known story is the controversy over a dinner meeting attended by Woolsey, Petersen, and Dr. Stephen Greer, described in detail by the Presidential UFO Website.

Claims made by Greer about Woolsey's interest in the UFO subject were addressed in a letter from the Petersen's and Woolsey's :

It has just come to the attention of the four of us that you have, without giving any of us the opportunity to comment, published a distorted account of a dinner party of some six years ago at which the four of us, you, and your wife were seated together. In the introduction to your book, "Extraterrestrial Contact," published earlier this year you portray this dinner party conversation during which the four of us listened to your views and politely asked questions as a "briefing" with a "cover story." You further assert that Mr. and Mrs. Woolsey reported a UFO sighting to you and agreed with your views. You include specific alleged quotations from them. None of this is accurate. You have portrayed politeness as acquiescence and questions as affirmations. Your conduct in this matter contravenes both accuracy and simple manners. Sincerely, (signed) John L. Petersen Diane C. Petersen R. James Woolsey Suzanne H. Woolsey

The Presidential UFO site offers a wealth of interesting tales from the UFO disclosure movement, which are familiar echoes of the current situation surrounding "Spies, Lies, and Polygraph Tape."

For example:

There also was a story that Woolsey had been previously involved in a request by former President George Bush to be briefed on the UFO subject. The story is told by Dan Smith, a researcher and friend of the CIA’s UFO expert Dr. Ronald Pandolfi. Later in front of Gus Russo at a dinner party where Pandolfi was in attendance, Smith tried to get Pandolfi to confirm the story for Russo that Woolsey had been called in by Bush, and that he had told the President he had no "need-to-know." Russo was prepared to take the story to the New York Times, but this time Pandolfi denied the story.

Many years later, Gus Russo, (who is better known for his investigations of the JFK assassination and the Mob) and again at the behest of Dan Smith, wrote "The Real X-Files," concluding"

There is certainly a very small percentage government officials with intelligence clearance -- some active, some retired -- who are interested in the UFO research community, if not UFOs themselves. Some of these men are of the impression, rightly or wrongly, that a very few individuals in government and the private sector are keeping the big secret even from them. This is small consolation to earnest UFO researchers, but at least they should no longer feel alone and marginalized as kooks completely at odds with officialdom.

NSA Superpowers and Divorcing the CIA

First, a quick note about President Obama's White House and UFO disclosure.

Time is running out to sign Stephen Bassett's White House petition to compel the Obama White House to explain why Bill and Hillary Clinton were quietly arranging an investigation of UFOs in the early 1990s.

It's been an interesting week in the mainstream media with expose' stories on U.S. intelligence services in the Washington Post and the Wired Threat Level blog.

James Bamford's latest look at the U.S. National Security Agency for Wired magazine is a must read investigation.

According to Bamford, "The NSA has become the largest, most covert, and potentially most intrusive intelligence agency ever." And, as previously reported here, NSA may also be involved with spooky paranormal psychic spying as well.

One source told Bamford about a breakthrough in cracking complex encryption code -- the kind of code used not only by foreign governments, but by U.S. citizens as well.

"Everybody's a target."

Bamford explains how the NSA has turned its intelligence collection superpowers towards American citizens, by establishing listening posts to "collect and sift through billions of email messages and phone calls, whether they originate within the country or overseas."

Meanwhile, Ian Shapira at the Washington Post takes us inside the breakup of a CIA marriage.

Imagine learning that the person you are planning to marry is a covert officer working for the Central Intelligence Agency. And then imagine the shock of learning that the role of CIA wife includes potentially dangerous situations in foreign nations.

That's what happened to one woman whose marriage unraveled, in part, from the stress of being used by the Agency and her husband as a convenient cover for Agency tasked operations on foreign soil.

The woman, who was first told by her future husband that he worked for the U.S. State Department -- after she met him on an Internet dating site in 2005 -- soon learned that her future husband was an operations officer for the CIA. What her future husband, and the Agency, did not tell her was how she would become an unwitting addition to her husbands covert-operations tool kit.

The unwitting wife told Shapira, "[My husband] used me and our [very young] daughter ... to run cover for his undercover operations ... I never felt safe, never knew who people were or why they were interested in us, or why they were photographing us."

Shapira's story focuses on the human side of the breakup, but there is another, more disturbing theme on the surface: To what extent is the U.S. government willing to put innocent civilians in harms way to further an intelligence agenda? And here, I refer to the use of the Internet for intelligence collection, as well as the more dangerous role played when CIA operatives use their families to lure so-called 'developmentals' to spy on foreign nations.

I have raised this issue before, but in the context of spies playing spy games on the Internet. Shapira's story explains what can happen when you get too close to an Agency operative.

One incident described by the wife involved the CIA officer using his wife and child as cover while he monitored a potential informant who was being psychologically tested to see how he would react when another Agency contact failed to show at a prearranged meeting.

The relationship hit a crisis point when police were called to the couple's home after a fight broke out between the parties, with the wife accusing the husband of excessive drinking and the husband claiming the wife suffered from anxiety and paranoia.

The husband, the covert CIA officer, even claimed to have felt threatened by the wife when she wielded a baby bottle.

Some of the wife's divorce-related discovery questions were blocked when her husband invoked the National Security Privilege and the Military and States Secrets Privilege.

I'll have more to say about this in a future article -- I can neither confirm nor deny having additional intelligence -- but I will say this: there is more to this story than was reported by the Post.

Is NSA in the Psychic Spy Business? An Update

The following "Spies, Lies and Polygraph Tape" special investigative report was originally published by Eight Martinis, the remote viewing magazine, and has been updated here with new information, including an alleged connection to officials with Donald Rumsfeld's Office of the Secretary of Defense.

(STARpod.org) -- Is the NSA, the secretive U.S. National Security Agency, in the business of psychic spying?

It is this contentious issue that was first brought to my attention in 2007 by Gus Russo, an author best known for his books on the JFK assassination plot and organized crime.

Russo had been dragged into the issue by his eccentric friend Dan T. Smith, the son of the late presidential adviser Dan Throop Smith.

At the time, Smith was interested in pushing the "human contact with otherworldly intelligence" disclosure movement forward, so he paid Russo to write an article about U.S. intelligence officials who were known to be interacting with UFO investigators on the Internet.

The resulting article, "The Real X-Files: Is Uncle Sam a Closet UFOlogist," never touched on the NSA psychic spying issue, but during his investigation, as he probed his intelligence-related sources, Russo was told of an on-going NSA paranormal program.

Russo wrote to us, "NSA considers remote viewing a valid SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) tool. The program was relocated from CIA and is one of the most highly classified at NSA."

According to Russo's source, not only was NSA pursuing paranormal phenomena for intelligence purposes, but there was an otherworldly element involved as well.

"The source says the program encountered problems when foreign targets were being blocked by an extraterrestrial source that has never been identified."

When asked about the veracity of his source for the NSA story, Russo noted they had been in contact for several years, adding that the source's "accuracy re: facts has never been in question (10 out of 10)."

We found this all very interesting, and certainly more so in light of the U.S. government's declassified STAR GATE paranormal programs -- but a single source, no matter how reliable, is not enough.

We had to look for verification elsewhere.

In addition to numerous NSA references in the STAR GATE files, which range from roughly 1972 to 1994, there is an official reference to an NSA psychic program in Gerald K. Haines article on UFOs, written for the CIA's Studies in Intelligence.

The NSA psychic program is mentioned in footnote (90) to "CIA's Role in the Study of UFOs, 1947-90: A Die-Hard Issue." (The article is available to read at the CIA's website.)

"There is a DIA Psychic Center and the NSA studies parapsychology, that branch of psychology that deals with the investigation of such psychic phenomena as clairvoyance, extrasensory perception, and telepathy."

According to Russo's source, his acquaintance was "sent to a university level course on RV [remote viewing]."

The same source provided us with two locations where research was on-going: Johns Hopkins, one of the research centers suggested by USN Captain Jake W. Stewart (in a proposal for an intelligence community paranormal effort in 1982), and The Monroe Institute, a psychic research center that had provided support for Army Intelligence paranormal operations in the early 1980s.

Rumors of a post-9/11 psychic spy program were reported by author Jon Ronson in his book The Men Who Stare at Goats. However, Ronson did not identify the National Security Agency; instead he focused on a clue provided by psychic Uri Geller, who told Ronson he was "reactivated" by a man named Ron.
