It’s was summer (back then in April) and Rachel sought the help of US Girls in choosing which bikini would be the most bagay for her — as if there’s any bikini out there that would not look good on Rachel. The viewers were asked to log onto the official Multiply site of US Girls to see the photos of Rachel and vote for their favorite bikini for her.

She’s not playing anymore in the current Shakey’s V-League Season 6 (1st Conference) but continues to support the Lady Eagles as one of the trainers. The fans will surely miss her “One Big Fight!” attitude whenever she plays volleyball.

Francis (who is actually just 24 — I learned about this after reading a feature article on this month’s Entrepreneur issue), is doing another online contest for bloggers to promote the spa. Last time, I joined their Spa Movie Theater contest and my blog post entry was one of the lucky winners!! But unfortunately I was too busy at that time and wasn’t able to attend the free spa treatment.

To join the content, I simply have to answer the question: What service would you like to do in BlueWater Day Spa Capitol Hills and why?

MY ANSWER: I would definitely be thrilled to experience their new deep tissue massage called the Athlete’s Massage (Php850). This has been specially developed by Blue Water Day Spa to cater to active sports-oriented men and women. I heard this was conceptualized in collaboration with PBA basketball coach Alfancis Chua (of Sta. Lucia). To quote from the Entrepreneur feature article: “[Athelet's Massage] focuses on the pressure points that are important to any sportsman, stretching the body to get the athlete ready for the next game or practice”.

Just recently, I’ve just started playing badminton with fellow blogger-friends every Tuesdays 9-11pm at West Drive Badminton Center in Brgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig. A total of 10 teams will be competing for the V-League crown. Game format will follow a single round robin eliminations with the top four teams advancing to the quarterfinals. These 4 teams will then be joined by 2 top provincial teams namely University of San Jose-Recoletors and University of St. La Salle-Bacolod. From hereon, the top four teams to emerge will advance to the semifinals.

The defending V-League champs are the Lady Stags from San Sebastian College-Recoletos. The Lady Stags completed a two-game sweep over the UST Tigresses, winning their first ever V-League title during the second conference of Season 5. This time around, they look even stronger with the advantage of being one of the maturest teams in the league.

The Lady Stags will continue to enjoy the services from their suki guest players Jaroensri Bualee and Suzanne Roces. Veteran players like Ancheta, Devanadera, Pepito (Margarita), and last season’s MVP Laurence Ann Latigay will have to step up and play consistent if they wanna win the crown one more time. And with Roger Gorayeb as their head coach, San Sebastian is expected to dominate the tournament.

In the world of running, the annual Condura Run is perhaps the most popular and most anticipated running event in the country. My goal tomorrow is to, well first of all, wake up early so I can start the race. Assembly will be at the 28th Street near NBC Tent. My target is to complete, NOT compete! I decided to join this event at the last minute (and after going back and forth reading Jaymie’s blog) so I wasn’t really able to prepare for it. I also hope I don’t get cramps like I always do.

Time for me to sleep now. Wish me luck. I’ll be race bib# 6791.

It was a star studded event. Nestea endorser JC Tiuseco was there to witness the games. Celebrity hunks John Prats and Polo Ravales were also seen. There were also mini dance workshops on Hip-Hop and Capoeira after the games. Later that evening, a fashion show was held featuring “Hot and Fit Body of Work” by Nautilus PJ Ara?ador. This was followed by a concert with guest bands 6 Cycle Mind and Sandwich.

After three days of action, the winners were announced for the Luzon eliminations. FEU’s beach volley veteran Joshua Alcarde and rookie Jan Berlin Paglinawan sealed the men’s title after beating Joseph Ramos and Eden Canlas of Letran. On the women’s side, the Adamson University’s Angela Benting and Lizlee Ann Gata grabbed the top spot after winning over the breakthrough performance of the ladies from the University of the Cordilleras – duplicating their victory last year. All top 3 teams emerging from the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao eliminations will battle it out during the Semis and Finals to be held in the shores of Boracay on May 6-9, 2009.

Summer is here and the hottest place to be is…. the beach!!! On March 14-16, me and a number of my friends stayed in Matabungkay, Batangas for our early summer outing. Matabungkay is a place where you can relax, swim, and of course, play our favourite sport – volleyball by the panoramic view of the sea. It also served as a pre-despedida event for our friend Precy, a former volleyball player from San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite, who is now an OFW and about to return to his work on a cruise ship. So before his literal overseas occupation, we decided to strengthen our ties on this frugal but definitely enjoyable summer getaway.

In Batangas we went and rented a “kubo” with three rooms for PhP 3,000.00 and that’s good for three days. There we take pleasure in swimming on the pristine waters of Lian and enjoyed the heat of the sun. There were a number of beach volley courts on this shore so you will surely get your doze of volley action almost everywhere. We played 6 on 6 on our first day and yours truly, (yes, Me) had a taste of raw beach volley using the new Mikasa MVA330. It was pure fun. My more competitive friends had their own share of “pustahan” with some locals who happen to play really good. And guess what the “pusta” is… soft drinks! But hey, with the excitement and high level of plays that we saw, the bet is not that important. On our second day, we had a mini-beach volley tournament. 14 teams of 2 members each were formed for a cash prize of PhP300 for the champions. These people that I am with are current and former varsity players of SSCR-C and street volley league thespians of Cavite, and we are with their coach, so you just can’t imagine how the games went, it was remarkable.

It was a fun filled vacation for all of us. Being with my friends and meeting new people and see them play gives me a different kind of high. I suggest that you guys try to have the same kind of adventure that we had. Lastly, I would like to thank the people that I was with during our three day escape, old and new friends, Lee, Thony, Chang, Tootsie, Koren, Edmond, Precy, Ellie, Joey, Ma’am Earl and Sir Aris, Teng and Joey, Mac-mac, Gretchen, Ivan, and Coach. I had a blast during those days; I hope that we could do it all over again. Let’s keep the ball flying high!!!
