Filipino Culture in the Pacific Northwest

  • Date: July 25, 2017

Filipino culture has been embedded in the backbone of Oregon’s communities for more than a century. After the 1898 defeat of Spain in the Spanish-American War, newly nationalized Filipinos moved to the United States. The community in the Pacific Northwest has been growing ever since - and the singular musical stylings of the country continue to be a staple across the region.

More than 10,000 Filipino Americans call Oregon home, and each person brings the unique culture of this place to the heart of the Pacific Northwest.

Spirit Mountain Casino is excited to celebrate our Filipino friends at the Filipino Music Festival this August, and you’re invited to experience the music, the entertainment, and the fun.

Here’s what you need to know: The Filipino Music Festival kicks off on Saturday, August 26th at 7 pm. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now. This celebration will bring some of the most Filipino performers to the stage at the Main Event Center. Join us to experience:

  • Headliners Joey Albert and Nonoy Zuniga
  • Hitmakers Fe de los Reyes, Eva Caparas, and Jet Montelibano
  • Music that spans classic ballads to beloved covers

Music is a core part of Filipino culture, and Spirit Mountain Casino is excited to share this experience with you. Join us this August for Filipino music at its finest, and gear up for a complete evening of unforgettable entertainment, song, and dance. We can’t wait for the celebration - and we can’t wait to see you at the show!
