This video really meant a lot to me. Although it may not seem like much, this was one of the harder mixes for me to make, because of the inspiration behind it. The music is done by Jon Brion on the soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I was going to add dialogue, but I thought that it would take away from the mix, therefore...no dialogue...enjoy!

Splog Video

This is just a little piece I put together. I tried my best to match the hits and actions in the video to the music I have embeded under the video. At first glance it does seem like a collage of hits and sports stuff, but it's fairly difficult when dealing with sports to not just have a bunch of clips and videos collaged together, so I tried to lace it with the music to the best of my ability (and with the tools from Eyespot). The music (Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim) seems to fit all of this amazingly, and the lyrics really fit the video well. Enjoy!

Heading into Dallas, the Sharks(39-25-2) knew that they had to straighten out their game and snap their 4 game losing streak. Even if this game didn't hold that much relevance in where the Sharks were seeded heading into the playoffs, it was a huge confidence boost to leave Dallas with a victory. The Sharks did just that, in dominating fashion, scoring 4 even strength goals to shutout the Stars (38-22-5).

One night after arguably the most disappointing loss on the season, the Warriors showed what they look like at full strength. Golden State (27-35) rolled over Detroit (37-21) 111-93, in what turned out to be the first time the Warriors had Jason Richardson and Baron Davis on the court at the same time in months.

With about 3 weeks until the baseball season begins, the Giants are trying to fine tune their skills to get ready for the 2007 season. Exhibition games began earlier this week and the Giants faced the Chicago Cubs at Hohokam park in Arizona on Friday afternoon.

Norv Turner has agreed with the San Diego Chargers to become their new head coach. Turner, who had his first season as the 49ers Offensive Coordinator, did a great job mentoring

My page is obviously a sports blog. I haven't changed anything because it was my original idea to create a sports blog. I've already been sent two related links by other members of this class (Alex and Scott).

The first related blog is SBNation, which is a sports blog that was created by the guy who started a very popular political blog but then switched to sports because that was his true passion (according to Alex).

The second blog is called The Best Sports Blog. The title of the blog is fairly self explanatory.

The third related blog I found is called Sports Frog. It has a few different writers that contribute to the blog, which gives the readers different perspectives from different events.

I was going through ESPN.com as I usually do every hour or so and I came across an article that really took me by surprise and thought it was worth sharing with anyone who reads this blog. It is about Genarlow Wilson, a young high school football player that was an amazing athlete and student who had nothing but great things ahead of him. He had a sexual encounter with a girl who was 15 when he was 17 and his life changed shortly after that. The article was written by Wright Thompson and is something everyone should read. I have to say I really dont know where to begin this blog. I think I will just take this time to let everyone know where I stand on Blogs.

When blogs are used to share some kind of information or knowledge that might be important to society in any way, I guess I dont really have a problem with it. But when people use it as a forum for them to bitch and whine about their lives, or even to describe and log their lives so that others can read about them, you could say I have a real problem with them. Do you really need a journal for other people to read about your sorrows so that you can get others to feel sorry for you? I might just be in a really negative mood at the moment which might make me sound like an asshole, but I just think people use blogs and other online journal sites in order to portray themselves to other people as something other than who they really are. Me bitching about other people bitching is an example of things I would say is trash on blogs, but I feel as if I should make it clear on this mandatory assigment of where I stand on the subject.

Now that I think I have probably made myself seem like a total ass, lets move on to something that I care about and something that consumes everyday of my life. Sports.

Sports
I love all sports but I am especially drawn to baseball. I dont know why that is. Maybe it is because I played it when I was younger, but I also played basketball, football, soccer and vollyball. Other than the intro paragraph above, I will be devoting my entire splog to Local sporting events. I will break down Warrior games, Sharks games, Giants and A's games when the season begins in a couple months and I will write analysis of 49er activity during the offseason. I will even dive into the sabercats games as well as Stealth games, which will be exciting for me because Ive never covered those at KNBR until this semester.
