Supernatural - Favorite Season 7 Episode, Round 4 - Poll

Things are really heating up in our quest to crown one episode the best of Supernatural Season 7. I don't think we've ever had a vote as close as The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo vs The Born-Again Identity. 5 or fewer votes separated it every time I checked the poll. Generally I call the poll an hour early in order to make the new one but this one I couldn't. In the end, The Born-Again Identity won in the last hour with 12 votes. It joins, Survival of the Fittest, Meet the New Boss, and Death's Door in our final four. This round will take us to the finals so vote your choice and don't forget to comment and to add your nominations for the best quotes from Route 666 and Nightmare.

TVLINE | Just to confirm: The season finale played out exactly as you always intended it, even knowing that renewal was looking iffy?
It really did. I mean, our ratings weren’t great, so there was some suspicion that we might not be back, but nobody had any idea what NBC would do. And literally, that last scene was something we had talked about from before the pilot was even written. Post-Lost, [network execs] are looking to make sure that you have flagpoles that you’re heading toward, and that was always our Season 1 flagpole.

TVLINE | Obviously there has been much speculation about what the heck we watched last night. Will you go so far as to say that it was not all a dream? That there was a car accident?
I’ve seen some really interesting [theories], and I wouldn’t say that anyone is wrong — except the people who are calling it a Dallas or a Newhart, any variation on “…and then he woke up.” That is absolutely not what we intended. If you watch the last few minutes again, I’m not sure what the argument for that [interpretation] even is. I suppose there’s the überpossibility that he’s in a coma and now having a third dream in the coma, but in no way should it be interpreted as, “He woke up and his family was fine. He’d just been having two nightmares.”

TVLINE | I reckon those people are just trying make sense of the fact that both Hannah and Rex are alive in the final scene.
Right. For us, while it provided an uplifting and hopeful ending [to the season/series], it probably would have been a sign that he was getting worse. He had reached a place where he seemed to part with Hannah’s world, he seemed to sacrifice that to get the answers [to the conspiracy] that he did. Dr. Evans pointed that out to him, that he’s once again on that precipice of understanding and accepting. Instead, he does what he’s done from the beginning — and that’s where “turtles all the way down” comes from. Infinite regression. “What if I’m still in prison in the red world, and all the crazy stuff that happened after… was a dream? Even if one of these [worlds] is a dream, why can’t I have a dream within a dream?” Once he realized [he could], it’s as if he seemed to dream the thing he wanted more than anything — to be reunited with his wife and son

It's that time again to give the site a bit a fresh new look. Each year since we started we've had a new banner.

You can see our current and previous banners below.

Now in the past our graphic designer did the all the work.

This time we're turning it over to you as I know we have a LOT of very talented graphic designers here.

1) You'll have at least 1 month to design a banner for SpoilerTV. (We'll give you plenty of notice before submissions are closed)
2) The SpoilerTV Team will then pick the best 20 Submissions and there will be a Poll for everyone to vote on.
3) The winner of the Poll will then be our new banner for the next year, and the winner will win a $50 Amazon voucher.
4) You can submit up to 10 Entries per person.

Submission Restrictions
Now there are some restrictions.

Supernatural - Favorite Season 7 Episode, Round 3 - Poll

We have finished the first level of voting and are moving into the Top 8. Winners from the last poll are: Meet the New Boss, Slash Fiction, Death's Door, and Hello Cruel World. No real surprises there. This weekend is a major holiday in the US so I expect there to be fewer votes than normal the next couple of rounds. That means your vote counts more. Happy voting!

Awake - Interview with the creator on the Series Finale

The day that the cancellation was confirmed, you tweeted out that at least it lasted 600% longer than "Lone Star" did. How would you compare the two experiences?

I think they were really really really different. "Lone Star" was an intentional experiment to see if we could put a cable show on network television, and it was over in the blink of an eye. It was a thrilling creative experience, and sort of painful to lose it after two episodes, when that was something we had a detailed map for where it would go in a single season. So in that way, it's been a lot more satisfying to be able to share the whole story of a single season of "Awake" with an audience, whereas it got aborted with "Lone Star."

Where were you in production of this when you realized how the numbers were trending, and did that in any way influence how you wrote this finale?

The numbers were never great even from when it started. It was always in the back of our minds, every week that it continued to air and continued to drop, that it might not be back. But we were absolutely, completely, totally done before any decisions were made. I think it may have made the powers that be a little more willing to let us swing for the fences in the final episodes — the fact that it may or may not come back. You try to walk a very delicate line of both summing up and giving some closure to things we talked about throughout the season, while leaving the door open for things that we would do in subsequent seasons.

Unfortunately, there aren't going to be those subsequent seasons. I don't know how much you are comfortable in talking about, in both explaining what happened in the finale and alluding to what might have come next. But let's start with the broadest question possible: what happened in the finale?

I will be happy to give you my interpretation, and what we pitched to the network, but I'm genuinely curious — especially from someone who is a connoisseur of television — did you have a take on it? Was it just baffling?

Grimm - Season 2 - Production Begins - Press Release

PRODUCTION FOR SEASON TWO OF "GRIMM" COMMENCES ON MAY 30

Production for season two of NBC's fairy tale procedural drama GRIMM commences on Wednesday, May 30 in Portland.

GRIMM stars Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell and Bitsie Tulloch will join Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber on May 29 to kick off production and celebrate another season of shooting in the northwest.

Also in attendance will be state legislators, members of the Governor's Office of Film and Television Board, NBC and Comcast officials as well as Oregon business owners who have benefited from the impact of local production.

Beginning Monday, May 28, NBC will run encore episodes of GRIMM every week at 10:00pm.

Season two of GRIMM will premiere in August.

"Grimm" is inspired by the classic Grimm's Fairy Tales. Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli, "Turn the Beat Around") discovers he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world. As he tries to hide the dangers of his new found calling from his girlfriend, Juliette Silverton, (Bitsie Tulloch, "quarterlife"), and his partner, Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby, "Lincoln Heights"), he becomes ever more entrenched in the ancient rivalries and alliances of the Grimm world.

With help from his confidant, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell, "Prison Break"), a reformed Grimm creature himself, Nick must navigate through the forces of a larger-than-life mythology, facing off with Hexenbiests, Blutbads and all manner of ancient evils, including royal lines dating back to the original profilers themselves, The Grimm Brothers. Reggie Lee ("Persons Unknown") and Sasha Roiz ("Caprica") also star.

"Grimm" is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production. The series was created by Stephen Carpenter and David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner ("Hot In Cleveland") and Norberto Barba ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent") also serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf.
