Art Briles has been with the University of Houston for a good while and has held a pretty decent record. Hes young and he has a 34-28 record with the Cougars so far. By many in college sports standards, Art Briles is considered one of the top young coaches in the country.

Looking at the boys who he has coached, his Houston teams have already been in four bowl games in a period of five years. They have also won the Conference USA title last season, so yea I guess you could say hes a choice. Hes not a choice but rather a young coach that can only go upwards as he gains more experience and builds upon the team he has playing with him.
The UH athletic director Dave Maggard basically said that coach Art Briles asked him about going on the interview with Baylor and he got the go ahead. Maggard also said that he told Art Briles that he wanted him to stay with the University of Houston team and asked if Art Briles really needed to do this. Art Briles said that he really did need too. I guess this answers a few things then.

Art Briles would make an amazing coach for Baylor university, but nothing is set in stone so we will just have to wait and see where this one takes him. Maybe Baylor will have a new coach Art Briles when its all said and done. Everyone is going to have to sit back and watch.

Marko Jaric has been in the NBA for a decent period of time and just appeared apparently by his teamates of being a bit sluggish on the court. Now that Marko Jaric is dating Adriana Lima he is making more things happen. Is this the whole plan? Is there some kind of conspiracy under the Timberwolves baksetball club to get Adriana Lima to have such an effect on Marko Jaric that He performs better. When I say performs better, I am referring to the basketball court.

Well geez, this guy is pretty fortunate and We al wish the best for his new found love. If your not familiar with Marko Jaric maybe in the coming months you will be if he keeps performing at this level.

Just to give you an idea of his improvement, look at his stats. Marko Jaric scored 21 points and gave six assists for the Minnesota T-Wolves to take out the New Orleans Hornets with a final of 103 to 94 in the New Orleans Arena. There you have it folks!

Todays game will be huge though with 80,000 crazy fans cheering wildly at the oldest college football rivalry in history between the Jayhawks and the Tigers. The differnece this year compared to other years is the fact that both teams are ranked very high this year. The Jayhawks are ranked number 2 and the Tigers are right behind them ranked at number 3. This means the oldest college football rivalry offers some serious bragging rights this year. This game is just amazing and will go on to be talked about for a really long time.

Even former coach Fambrough who is 85 years old had something to say about the oldest college rivalry and this is what he said. “I promise you one thing, it’s not any damn showdown,”The people who call it a showdown are people who have never played in the Missouri-Kansas football game, because it is total war. Their people get up high for it and we get up high for it”.

The oldest college football rivalry between these two teams has gotten so heated up that even the t-shirts that the students are wearing have gotten pretty blatent. A shirt with words like “Muck Fizzou” was a popular one, and then new shirts have been popping up all over the internet that have some interesting conotations. Likening the oldest college football rivalry like a fight, like a battle, and it has proven to be just that.

The longest college field goal hasnt been kicked since, but there has been some recent events which merit attention. The fact that the longest college field goal in the Rose bowl was just recently kicked. This was made by Kai Forbath in the Bruins versus Oregon game. That was the third longest kick in school history and the longest field goal made at the Rose Bowl. for the Bruins which is pretty amazing.

This is technically then the longest college field goal in the rose bowl, but this came after no activity from the Bruins in the Beginning of the first Quarter. But boy it sure got the Bruins pumped.

Besides the longest college field goal recorded the Bruins made some great plays which only happened after they recovered a fumble by Oregon quarterback Cody Kempt.

Then, the next 3 plays by the Bruins were by Chris Markey who ran for 1 yard as well as Osaar Rasshan who was sacked for a 3 yard loss then only more bad news when Rasshan gets the snap and has no where to go and then gets sacked again for a 3 yard loss. Then the Oregon QB goes down later in the game and it just sits like so for the rest of the game. So the longest college field goal wasn’t kicked in this game, but a heck of a long one made a difference, thats for certain.

When getting started as a pitcher and learning better pitching techniques it is important to stay grounded. One of the best kept secrets to being a deadly and effective pitcher is making sure that you are standing correctly. For those just starting out, you will always want to have one leg in front of the other which will help to give the best balance. Keep in mind now that the leg that is in the front is going to be the opposite side in which you will be using to throw the baseball. The reason for this pitching technique is that it will give you more power when you are ready to launch the ball. A necessity is having the right stance, which is tantamount on you finding the right balance for your feet, from this point you can move forward. All of this involves leaning at just the right angle and knowing how to keep the strength in your legs to get the most power from a throw. This is just another better pitching techniques.

Here are now some more better pitching techniques. Now that you have gotten down the stance properly, you can start to test out all different manners of throwing and types of pitches that you are able to. Compiled together this will determine the actions of the batter and what you want him to do. Since your intentions are to strike out a batter without giving them a shot to run any bases, then you will want to focus on putting the ball either in a lower spot or higher spot and at various speeds to counteract. One of the better pitching techniques is to make sure you have the right grips for whatever kind of ball that you will be throwing to your opponent.

Putting things then in a nutshell in relation to better pitching techniques is the fact that the way you hold the ball before pitching as well as the stance that you have will make a huge difference in the effectiveness of getting strike outs and being able to hold your own ground. keep in mind that the way you look at your options in pitching allows you to see more possibilities of the way a ball can go so this will help you determine what types of pitches are better for different batters. These better pitching techniques should help you be on your way to improving your game.

When it comes to being a communicating coach its more than just saying go here or go there or do this or do that. It means responding to individual players and there needs to better themselves and the team, and this should go without saying as a coach. One of the large and successful ways that a coach can actually communicate with the players is simply by sending out non-verbal messages. Lets say a player has done domething good and you want to tell him about it but you can’t cause your in the middle of a game.

Do you let him or her know with body language? Being a communicating coach is so important even on individual plays, so you can let a player know if you are happy or unhappy with their actions, and it also tells them what they may or may not need to do in a given situation.

While you are communicating as a coach with your players, don’t allow anything to be blurred and get out of perspective. Here is a very important point, and that is to always combine the best of your character to win the game with other mixed aspects of coaching. Even if you are pushing hard to winning a game, you definitely want to make sure that you are combining actual feeling or affection towards your players efforts of plays or right moves they may make while they are in the middle of a game. Sometimes its best to show your support by communicating as a coach so that will motivate your players during the game even when they feel like giving out.

Its important when being a communicating coach to not only let your players know th best move that they need to make next but to really communicate as a coach to the team what the next best move is as a whole. Through expression of character and coach communication, this will help to more than ensure that all of the players are able to not only understand what needs to be done as a team, but then effectively reciprocate what you have said by showing it with a better game. This helps the players know when the coach is communicating that he has confidence in his team and what they can do. Are you doing this as a coach?

Priest Holmes interestingly retired exactly one month from the point way back when he started his career with his major debut playing against the Oakland Raiders. Priest Holmes had a few words for family and fans when he said, “I have truly been blessed with the opportunity to play in the National Football League.” Blessed to play priest Holmes has been.

The Kansas City Chiefs organization will remember Priest Holmes as an aspiring star who wanted to succeed and get somewhere in the NFL which he did. Many will respect Priest Holmes as he goes down as a Kansas City Chiefs star for a long time. It’s just a shame he had to go out like this with so many injuries and beatings, but nonetheless a happy man.

It wasn’t possible for Priest Holmes to return with multiple neck and head injuries which kept him sitting on the sideline for over two years. I guess Priest Holmes has just come down to the end of his playing career as a Chief, and now he gets to really enjoy some family time.

Priest Holmes has had some great accomplishments in his NFL history like, being a three-time Pro Bowl running back. As well as rushing for a total of 120 yards on 39 carries. That is some pretty serious game right there. And lets talk about touchdowns. From Priest Holmes 2002 to 2004 seasons he built up a total of 66 total touchdowns which is an NFL record for a span of three years which no one has done. truly a great player that will be missed.

A former teammate had shed some light on some of the issues that Jim Ringo was dealing with. The Former Packers teammate Willie Davis said that Jim Ringo had been battling against Alzheimer’s now for a while.

Willie Davis had more to say about Jim Ringo when he said, “One minute, you’re reliving an experience and the next minute, he’d be asking, ‘Who’s this?”

Willie Davis was inducted in to the hall of fame back in 1981 with Jim Ringo and really knows what its like to see what you have accomplished years later. He too is aging and realizes that life is short and sports is just a piece of the puzzle.

Jim Ringo played football when the toughness of a man was truly tested. Jim Ringo was drafted to the Packers out of Syracuse in the seventh round in 1953, and he turned out to be one of the league’s best centers ever, even though he was an undersized player weighing a mere 200 pounds. A small guy with a lot of heart for the position he played.

Even Vince Lombardi recognized Jim Ringo to be one of the most impacting players of his day, literally. Jim Ringo used his small size to his advantage and this is what made the Packers so powerful.

Jim Ringo will be missed by many. Our hearts go out to the family of the infamous Jim Ringo.

Also keep in mind that Romeo Miller’s dad also a rapper named Master P was a basketball player for the NBA for a short time back in the late 90’s. Romeo who is 18, will be graduating from Beverly Hills High School as an honor student this spring and will attend USC in the fall.

When Romeo Miller goes to USC he will be getting a lot of attention. Getting the knowledge from school won’t be too hard. He will probably be able to get all the tutoring he needs. He may just want to play college ball, who knows. Either way he will be there.

So I am sure people may be wondering how good a ball player he is. Will he get many minutes in games, and if so will he expect special treatment for the fact that he has been pretty spoiled with riches most of his life. I am sure that he is a smart kid and hasn’t had the pressure to make a living and make a way for himself as the rest of the world.

Either way we will see how the school as well as the coach deals with him, and whether he will maybe turn out to be a pro ball player in the NBA. Romeo Miller has and is still making a mark in the world of celebrities and stars and will continue to get lots of attention. Wish the best for him.

Michael Vick surrendering also proves several things. He is a real liar. He was told by his attorney to say one thing and he is paying the price cause it didn’t work for him. For Michael Vicks charges on dog fighting he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.

Does he deserve it? If you hurt animals and then testify before the legal system and lie out your teeth, then sure why not. Maybe this young kid will learn something for his stupid actions and realize that he needs to think before he acts. Also he may learn that your friends that were with you will desert you in hard times when you don’t chose the right ones. We will just have to wait and see how the Michael Vick sentencing follows through.

I think a lot of people may be wondering if Michael Vick will be playing football again? Its possible but it won’t be soon thats for sure. But right now he has to be a man and own up to is bad things he has done. Where is he being held right now you may be asking.

Michael Vick is being held at the Northern Neck Jail in Warsaw until the time is up for his sentencing. This mixed prison holds about 400 inmates. Looks like Michael Vick is getting used to the new life he will be calling home. If he gets out of this one then you know its just a poor judicial system we have that caters to famous people and sports stars.
