However, you know simple isn’t always my style.  So, I took some time to ask the G-Kap team about their start, where they are now as well as future projections. The source of a good product or service is not only an idea, but the passion to follow it through.

The idea originated when we were back in college in the early 2000’s. While smoking on several occasions, we noticed that some of our friends would be sick; however, we did not want to deny them from sharing the community pieces. In turn, we did some research and discovered that glass is a breeding ground for germs, and these germs only a require a touch in order to be transferred to another person. From there, we envisioned to create products that would protect users that smoked amongst each other. We not only wanted to produce accessories that kill germs on contact, but products that would be more comfortable to the touch, that are ‘self-cleaning’ and don’t have to be removed each time a piece is used. …We had all been working for several years in various industries and had accumulated enough knowledge and funding to create these types of products…that being said, we founded G-Kap in late 2011.

Based out of Bay Area, CA the G-Kap team consist of four core members. They work without titles and contribute as much as their time as possible…outside of their regular 9-5 jobs. On Monday a marijuana dealer in Manchester, Connecticut known by her street name of “Mama”, was arrested in the parking lot of a Burger King. Police say she had more than five ounces in total on her and charged her with both the possession of more than four ounces of marijuana and intent to sell more than four ounces of marijuana. Her bond was set at $100,000 however since she had three prior warrants out for her arrest (for exactly the same things) she had three additional bonds set at $100,000, $175,000, and $100,000.

Mama, who police identified as 48-year-old Cassandra Thomas, of 127 Wooster St., Hartford, was caught selling marijuana in the parking lot of a Burger King, located on Center St.

Looks like “Mama” is going to need a lot of cash to bail her out of this one. Guess she didn’t learn the other three times how not to get caught.
