Alex Rodriguez to Sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers

Alex Rodriguez has almost come to the end of contract negotiations with the L.A. Dodgers.At 9AM PT Rodriguez’s management was meeting with friends, one person was a high ranking MLB official, in Los Angeles. At this time terms of Rodriguez’s soon to be signed “5 year contract” we’re discussed in detail.

We have sources that say Rodriguez is taking a cut in pay from his estimated at “$33 million dollars per year,” because he has confidence that Joe Torre will bring the team to the World Series.

Rodriguez is signing this new contract with the L.A. Dodgers because he, “wants to play in another major market team that has World Series potential.” We will see…

Final: Oregon 24, USC 17

An interception by Oregon’s Matthew Harper stopped a USC rally and sealed the deal, a 24-17 victory Saturday at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. USC was down 24-10 in the fourth quarter, quarterback Mark Sanchez hit David Ausberry on a 14-yard pass for a touchdown to close to within seven with 4:44 left.

USC’s defense held on the Ducks’ next possession, forcing them to punt. Sanchez led the Trojans to the Oregon 33 on their final drive before Harper’s interception. Sanchez, making his third consecutive start in place of injured starter John David Booty, completed 26 of 41 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. All in all Oregon played a good game.

Josh Beckett played a great game. Dustin Pedroia hit a home run during the first inning, the first rookie in World Series history to do so, and J.D. Drew added a two-run double to give boston a fast 3-0 lead.

Beckett relied on his fastball for the first four innings, 39 of his first 40 pitches were speeds ranging from 95 to 97. He had superb control.

Nine consecutive Red Sox batters reached base with two outs in the fifth inning, three doubles, two singles and four walks, including three straight bases-loaded walks which moved the lead from 6-1 to 13-1 for the final score.
