“I have one of these and the slightly larger Campingaz Powerbox 36 Classic Te Cooler and both offer impressive performance and fulfill their promises.

This is a traditional ‘cool box’ design – ie an insulated plastic crate with lid providing a small cooling fan whereas the Powerbox is more like a mini-fridge with shelves and compartments.

While camping or ‘on the road’ it can be a battle to keep things cool but this fits perfectly into a footwell and keeps food and drink chilled to 16 degrees below the ambient temperature (the Powerbox is slightly more powerful at 18 degrees below). If your lighter socket isn’t live when the engine is switched off then it will stop running – but the box and its contents still remain cool for several hours. This has a tough build and will withstand the bumps and knocks which are inevitable when camping.

It’s also good for keeping frozen foods cold when restocking the fridge/freezer on a supermarket run in hot weather when there’s a risk of foods rapidly thawing or becoming dangerously warm in a hot car.

I use a mains adapter and leave it on for a couple of hours before I intend to use it and this does the trick. It does not fit 2L bottles in as I read somewhere. “Looked around for good value cycle rack for our Ford Focus last year. Fits well on the glass hatch. Once the straps are tightened it fits very solidly. It takes a few times to work out how to use it quickly. Strongly recommend a trial run before using it in anger – you don’t want to be working out what goes where when packing to go on holiday. Make sure your boot is packed before loading the bikes on! Always pull over and check that the straps are still tight after a few miles. I just wish they made bikes that fitted easily on racks. “I was searching for a robust, simple to use and reasonably priced bike rack principally for one adult mountain bike, sometimes two. I relied on the reviews both on Amazon and on other sites and the peruzzo verona came out as the best buy. It arrived very quickly and it is very easy to fit on your own. I have a 3dr ford focus ST hatchback and even with the spoiler it fits easily. I probably wouldn’t try more than two bikes on it though as the angle you would need the rack would place a great deal of weight on the rear window. If I had an estate car or say a golf with a vertical boot design the rack would easily hold three bikes. The strapping system is easy to use and tough (but kind to paintwork) with the bike not moving around at all when the car is in motion.
