In 2011, there was lots of growth on both the Sportiqe side and the personal side as well. Sportiqe continues to evolve in to the brand that we all thought it would be. We are becoming THE fashion brand for the fan! Whether it’s your favorite band, sports team, university, race care driver, casino, gaming company, movie studio, television station, beverage, restaurant, music venue, etc. From the waist up, WE GOT YOU COVERED!

On a personal note, I am humbled by the amount of people around the country that take time out of their day to spread the word about Sportiqe Apparel. Our marketing efforts are strictly grass roots, so one person telling another person is the way our company grows. As I travel the country at a feverish pace, the number one question I get is: “Do you ever get tired of traveling?” The one word answer is No. The long answer is that I was put on this planet to revolutionize an industry. I am willing to work everyday, and dedicate my life, to continue to achieve the goal of revolutionizing fashion for the fan. Sportiqe has accomplished quite a bit in the seven years that we have been in business. This is just the beginning!

I promise to blog more often. We have so many exciting things in 2012 to share with you all. I promise to take pics and write as much as I can.

Pebble Beach is known as one of the most beautiful and prestigious golf courses in the world. Located in Pebble Beach, CA, the course features incredible views of Carmel Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Sportiqe and Pebble Beach teamed up for an incredible “off the course” collection. The collection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, and headwear. Look for the collection to expand in the coming months! At the event, I thoroughly enjoyed browsing Sportiqe’s new US Open collection, eating some delicious appetizers, sipping some cocktails, playing Wii tennis on a big screen TV, listening to some great music provided by a live DJ, catching up with Sporitqe Principal Jason Franklin, and of course meeting others at the event including Chris Terranova and Paul White from the USTA and Jerry DePizzo, Chris Culous and Richard On from O.A.R. The collection received compliments all night from the various patrons I talked to, who seemed excited about the concept of a company providing comfortable and well-designed apparel for the fan.

We all look forward to the final week of US Open tennis here in the states as the competition heats up. Sportiqe is thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate US Open tennis with the USTA through providing this amazing collection for the tennis and sports fans around the country. The 2011 US Open kicks off today at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park, NY. The event will take place through September 11th, 2011. Sportiqe is proud to be providing the US Open with casual fashion apparel for the fourth straight year. Sportiqe is excited to add a new iconic restaurant to our acclaimed Hometown Classics Collection. In a city known for its delicatessens and brilliantly cured meats, New York City’s Carnegie Deli stands shoulders above the rest.

Founded in 1937, Carnegie offers epic-sized sandwiches, decadent desserts and unique sides in a casual atmosphere in the heart of Midtown Manhattan only blocks away from Times Square. For decades, just about every celebrity you can think of has stopped by the deli some of its famous meat – every inch of wall space inside the restaurant is covered with photos of the rich and famous hanging out in this Big Apple staple.

I had the opportunity to feast at this establishment and wasn’t let down. Hoping to beat the crowds, I went to Carnegie at 3:00 on a rainy Sunday and there still wasn’t an empty seat in the house – I even shared my eating space with three guys from South Florida.

Because I wanted the full New York Deli experience, there was no other option than to order the pastrami Reuben. This open-faced sandwich is worth every penny as it could be fit for an episode of Man vs. Food with its overly-generous portions. Being the first time I’ve eaten a sandwich with a fork and knife, it was a humbling experience. This meat salad had over a pound of the most deliciously-flavored warm and moist pastrami piled on top of a slice of rye bread topped with pickled sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese, and homemade Thousand Island dressing to bring the whole sandwich together.

So next time you’re in the city that never sleeps, you HAVE to stop by Carnegie Deli. If you don’t have time to dine in, you can still order their world-famous meat at their deli counter.

And if you aren’t able to make it to NYC, there are locations in the Mirage Hotel in Vegas, Foxwoods Casino in CT, Six Flags in NJ and The Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA. The World Series of Poker dates as far back as 1970, when the top seven poker players in the country played a single tournament for a $30,000 pot. The tournament has grown drastically since its humble beginnings. This year the WSOP featured nearly 7,000 entrants and the winner will be taking home over $8.7 million! The tournament is down to the final table of nine, which will take place in November on ESPN. Sportiqe teamed up with WSOP sponsor Harrah’s Entertainment to put together a great collection of hoodies and caps for the event.

The DMB Caravan kicked off at Atlantic City’s former airport, Bader Field.  With an expected attendance of 75,000 fans the reaction to the festival has been nothing short of superb. The DMB Caravan  lineup was highlighted with bands such as Lotus, Rebelution, and Bassnectar, to name a few. The Caravan’s stop in Atlantic City was only a taste of what’s to come this summer.

The next stop begins July 8 in Chicago. The theme screams diversity as Chicago’s lineup includes some of the same bands from Atlantic City but also adds its own unique touch with performances by Kid Cudi, The Wailers, and Soja. A full preview of the lineup in Chicago can be seen here.

The Chicago show will be followed up by a stop in New York City, August 26-28.  There is a lot of buzz surrounding the New York caravan as it will be hosted on Governor’s Island and will also feature performances from O.A.R, Dispatch, and the Roots.

The DMB Caravan will conclude at the ever popular venue the Gorge Amphitheatre  in Washington, September 2-4.  With performances by De La Soul, Blind Pilot, and The Moondoggies the end of the Caravan will be prove to be epic.

DMB has teamed up with Sportiqe to create a shirt dedicated to highlighting each location on the caravan. Look for big things this summer out of DMB and their Caravan! Rock on!
