Fishing can be a relaxing way to spend your weekends. It has been proven that fishing is one of the all-time treasured experiences of thousands of American families. However, any sport has its dangerous side and fishing is no exemption.

Majority of fishing equipment have sharp tools such as metal hooks which may lead to accidents when the fishing environment unexpectedly changes for the worse. Storms, hurricanes, wild currents, and other mishaps, could spoil your fishing trip.

If you are planning to go on a fishing expedition with family or friends, here is a list of urgent situations and what preparations you need to face each scenario.

1) Weather – Before packing up your bags and traveling to you fishing spot, consult or be aware of the weather conditions for the day and the following days. Whether you are fishing on shores or in a boat, you should be cautious of the conditions such as flash floods, storm movements and darkening of the skies. When signals such as extreme lightning strikes, you should head to dry land immediately.

Having a sun-drenched day is not really an “appropriate fishing day.” You should be aware that spending many hours with exposure to the sun could damage your skin. Be prepared by bringing sun block to avoid sunburns. You should be aware of heat sickness symptoms such as nausea, breathing difficulty, lightheadedness, and unable to concentrate on tasks. Prepare a supply of water or liquid beverages to keep hydrated.

2) Sharp fishing equipments – Since fishing includes many sharp tools, you should always be prepared to treat injuries by packing disinfectants such as medicated lotion or spray and hydrogen peroxide. If an incident leads the skin to bleed, you would need bandages, cotton or paper towel. Bring your own first aid kit.

3) Tangles – One of the most common fishing hindrances is wherein your line is caught in anything surrounding your fishing spot such as trees, logs, etc. Try to get your line or fishing rod out of the tangle immediately to avoid the problem that could lead into a major accident. You could either snap off the branches of the tree or carefully and slowly remove your line away from where it is tangled.

4) Bait – When you run out of bait, it could spoil your while fishing trip. Avoid this by splitting up the rest of the bait into halves, quarters or thirds. The worm, even if divided, could still move, so the divided worms could still lure your target fish.

Be prepared to face any scenario to keep your fishing adventure as relaxed as possible. With all these in mind, you could enjoy your fishing trip safely and successfully.

The idea of attending golf school sounds ideal. You get to spend a couple of years learning about a sport that you love, improving your game and working on completing an education which you hope will lead to a lucrative and satisfying career in the future.

But, wait a minute. Exactly what career might you obtain after graduating from golf school? After all, you love the thought that you might land a professional golf career out of the deal but you realize that the likelihood of that isn’t terrific. It could happen, but you don’t want to spend your money on an education that has only a small chance of getting you closer to your dream. Don’t worry; there are a number of other jobs that you can get after graduation from a golf college. These jobs are all related to the golf industry but will let you explore different interests as well, interests which may increase your likelihood of obtaining a job upon graduation.

For example, if you are interested in golf but are also interested in education, you could work on getting a job teaching golf. There are many different locations and settings in which golf instructors are needed. Many high schools have golf teams that need coaching. Resorts hire golf professionals to teach their skills to beginners who are just trying to enjoy a few days out on a luxurious golf course. Busy professionals pay to have private golf lessons for themselves or their young children. And golf schools also hire people to teach at their institutions. Teaching golf is one of the major careers that people graduating from a golf college enter. Those who get a jump start by working in some form of golf instruction during their college years are, of course, the ones who see the most success in making the transition from student to teacher.

Perhaps education isn’t your thing. You may be great at sales and marketing. If you have a penchant for sales or any aspect of marketing, you can get a job in the sales and marketing division of the golf industry. Golf schools offer courses that teach you the skills that you need to head large marketing divisions of major golf organizations. There are many different types of jobs related to this. For example, you could be a marketing copywriter for a golf publication. Alternatively, you could work as the head of sales for a company specializing in certain kind of golf clubs or golf attire. As long as you are willing to work at making the sale and letting people know what’s great about the product, you can do well in this area. Since you already love golf, you’re one step ahead of people who have marketing skills in other industries.

Maybe you have a more creative interest that you would like to indulge while making the most out of your golf education. There are many different ways that you could use golf school as a launching pad for combining golf with other creative endeavors. If you are interested in photography, you could start networking during your college years to meet people who will later employ you as a photographer at special golf events. Similarly, perhaps you are interested in alternative healing. Use your golf school time to get to know people working at golf resorts. Later, you may come back to these people to get hired on as an alternative healer or physical therapists specializing in massage or therapy for golf injuries. Golf school is just a stepping-stone to a number of interesting and lucrative careers. Deciding what type of golf career you will pursue after graduation is limitless.

If you are interested in golf training, there are a variety of teaching options to get you started. From the internet to the video store and even the classroom, there is no shortage on available lessons. Depending on the type of golf training that you ultimately select, prices can be quite affordable. Professional golf training, however, will be more costly.

If you would like to hire an instructor to help you learn to play golf, consider a professional instructor or someone who has a lot of past experience in golf training. The first thing that you will learn is the difference between clubs and the names of each. At first, golf training may seem intimidating because there are so many clubs and they are each used for a different situation. But, after a few golf training lessons, you will be able to recognize the clubs and their intended use in a snap.

It may be a good idea to learn to play golf on a beginner level before hiring an instructor. Become familiar with the clubs by purchasing an instruction book or video. These type of manuals offer an introduction to the different clubs, how to grip them properly and even the proper way to swing. By reading closely, or watching an instructional video, you will enter into golf training with more confidence. Rather than starting from scratch, your instructor will notice that you will likely learn to play golf a lot faster than absolute beginner students.

If you aren’t comfortable staring on your own, there is nothing wrong with entering golf training as a beginner. After all, that’s what the training is for. For practice purposes, it is a good idea to have access to a full set of golf clubs during the times that golf training isn’t being given and you would still like to practice. Your instructor may or may not ask that you practice but, if they do, it will help you to be better prepared for future golf training lessons.

When selecting a golf training instructor, you may even have the option to learning to play at a golf course. Many golf training instructors work one-on-one with students while others offer instruction to a group of students, which is similar to any other type of class. Online instruction is for anyone who doesn’t want to leave home or doesn’t have the time to attend regular classes, but this type of golf training does not provide an actual hands-on teaching technique.

There are many kinds of fishing equipments in stores, numerous fishing methods in books, and fishing advices online. To make it all simple, here are the basic things you need to know for your first time fishing adventure.

1) How to fish with bait

* Tackle. To plunk the bait, you should purchase lead weights. The weight of the lead would vary depending on the current of the environment. Anglers commonly use and recommend bank sinkers with a number-two hook.

To avoid sinkers to slide, you would need a swivel to act as a stop. To protect the knot, you could use plastic beads between the swivel and weight. Using two appropriate swivels could allow you to rig the sliding sinkers.

* Bait. The commonly used bait for all kinds of fishes is worms. Another popular bait is chicken liver. Remember to buy fresh bait and keep them cold to avoid them from getting soft and allowing the bait to stay within your hooks.

Some of the commonly used baits are cut-baits which include skin from fried chicken, fish entrails, grasshoppers, salmon eggs, shrimps and crayfish tails.

2) How to fish – There are three basic methods for fishing.

* Plunking – It is the most common method used. Use a suitable amount of weight for you to be able to take hold of the bait in a position which is against any current. An option in plunking is to use minimal weight for the bait to move along with the water current.

* Back bouncing – It is done by lifting the bait out the bottom and raising the tip of the rod for one to two feet. Allowing the bait to walk with the current, you should free the back reel or spool. Repeat the steps when the lure settles down on the bottom. Back bouncing is effective in deeper water like fishing in a boat.

* Drift-fishing – It is a simple method wherein you cast upstream or downstream. This may vary depending on the current’s amount. You should count the appropriate depth and start reeling.

3) How to fish from a boat – It is important to determine in which location you would perform your fishing. Deeper water needs heavier jigheads compared when fishing on shore.

* With heavy weight which keeps your bait near the bottom of the water and the line straight down from your boat, you are able to drift the boat along with any current. A good technique of fishing on boats is trolling slowly with a fishing device called bottom-walker.

Fishing is easy as long as you’re enjoying the trip. Bring some of your family and friends along and make your first time fishing a memorable one.

During the 1972 British Open at Muirfield, Scotland, Tony Jacklin and Lee Trevino attacked the 9th hole from the tee. Jacklin went for the carry over the left-hand fairway bunker, while Trevino played more conservatively down the right side. Both finished in the rough, but within iron distance of the green. Two amazing shots followed, both landing about 20 yards (18 m) short of but running onto the green. Both players then holed their putts for eagles.

Hitting into the rough is the most common problem a golfer faces. Even golfing legends like Trevino and Jacklin find themselves in the rough more often than they’d like. But by making a few adjustments you can get yourself out of trouble and back onto the fairway without costing yourself strokes.

When a recreational golfer finds himself in the rough, he often lets the situation intimidate him. Instead of assessing the lie, like many golf instruction manuals suggest, he grabs a club and slashes away, hitting into the rough again or into more trouble. By the time he finishes, he’s hacked out an 8 on the scorecard.

Hitting from the rough—whether heavy and thick or light and fluffy—trips up many golfers—even those who’ve taken golf lessons. But learning how to can get out of the rough doesn’t take a lot of instruction. It just takes a bit of discretion and knowing what adjustments to make.

Thick Rough

Hitting into the thick rough is the more common scenario. The problem is the thickness of the grass. It grabs the hosel of your club and closes the clubface at impact, causing you to pull the ball left (for right handers). The grass also reduces club head speed and takes backspin off the ball. Heavy clumps of grass require almost brute force to get out of.

Choosing the right club is crucial, as most golf tips point out. You need a club with a sharp leading edge, like the shorter irons. The edge cuts through the thick grass, giving the best chance of catching the ball squarely. Try a lofted wood (5,7,9) or lofted iron (9 iron, pitching wedge). The loft gets you airborne quicker. If the ball is buried, try the 6 iron. And don’t try to hit a big hook or big slice. The deeper, thicker grass makes the ball go straight.

Ball position is also crucial: Too far forward means there’s too much grass to get through. Too far back means there’s not enough loft to get the ball airborne. Position the ball left of center (for right handers) with the longer clubs, and right of center with the shorter clubs.

In addition, do the following:

• Take a steeper angle of attack
• Keep your hands ahead of the club.
• Lean your weight forward
• Take a normal stance
• Aim your body slightly left
• Open your clubface
• Take a divot after the ball

Two other adjustments: set your wrists a fraction earlier than normal during takeaway and center your weight over the ball at the top of your back swing.

Light Fluffy Rough

Hitting from a light fluffy lie requires different adjustments, but it’s no less challenging. Like the thick rough, the real culprit is the grass.

With fluffy grass the ball sits up high, almost as if it were on a tee, so don’t take your normal swing. You need to avoid undercutting the ball, which prevents solid contact. Instead, try sweeping it off the “tee,” with the blade of your club barely touching the tips of the grass.

In addition, do the following:

• Choke down on the club
• Play the ball father forward
• Hover the club at address
• Restrict your back swing
• End with a balanced finish

Move your hands about an inch (2.5 cm) down the grip and position the ball farther forward in your stance, which encourages more of a sweeping motion through the swing.

Hovering the club permits you to catch the ball flush and guards against the ball moving at address. Choking down on the club restricts your backswing, but also hinge your wrists just a little earlier in your takeaway. Also, stop the club short of the horizontal position at the top of the backswing. Try to end with a balanced finish.

Hitting into the rough—whether it’s deep and thick or light and fluffy—doesn’t have to intimidate you. Just gather yourself and make the right adjustments and you’ll overcome the challenge. Also, stay within yourself. Don’t try to do too much. If the rough looks really challenging, punch it out onto the fairway.

The idea is to put yourself in position to hit the next shot, not cost yourself more strokes by hacking away. You may not land on the green with your next swing, but like Trevino and Jacklin, you might just hit a shot that leads to a surprising finish—and maybe a lower handicap.

Fishing is not just about fishing. Its About fishing, during a fishing trip, families and friends relax together as they enjoy being outdoors and learning new skills. Fishing is considered as a great sport in almost all countries and Canada is no exception. Fishing is the kind of gift that lingers, one that’s sure to outlive you and me.

What is Fly Fishing.

Fly fishing is a distinct and ancient angling method, most renowned as a method for catching trout and salmon, but employed today for a wide variety of species including pike, bass, panfish, and carp, as well as marine species, such as redfish, snook, tarpon, bonefish and striped bass. Fly lines are heavier than regular fishing line, some made to float and some heavier to sink. Fly fishermen seeking bass developed the spinner/fly lure and bass popper fly, which are still used today. Fly fishing can be done in fresh water or salt water. Fly fishing for trout is a very popular sport which can be done with dry flies, sinking wet flies and sinking nymphs.

What About Bass.

Bass fishing is a wonderful activity and to derive the maximum benefits out of it, it is better you get to know few basics about the activity and it will be sure your additional knowledge can see you through your success in bass fishing.
Trout About.

Trout tend to be looking upstream for food, explaining the success of fishing “from” downstream while wading upstream. Trout tend to strike at the “edges” between fast and slow moving water.

Salmon

Salmon are known for their size and beauty. One of the favotites among fishermen.

No Bait,no Fish

Bait includes, but not limited to fish, fish eggs, crayfish, worms, grubs, crickets, corn, cheese, bread, pork rinds, putty or paste-type products, and flavors or scents applied to or impregnated into artificial lures. For a beginner, live natural bait such asworms, minnows, crickets, and other insects is a good option. You might also need a live bait container (such as a minnow bucket or aworm box), a stringer or an ice chest to keep your catch fresh, a landing net,rod- and- reel cases and a first- aid kit for minor emergencies.
Streams and Rivers

Fly Fishing Colorado’s 6,000 miles of streams and over 2,000 lakes and reservoirs offer numerous fishing opportunities for cold water or warm water species. Colorado cold water streams and lakes contain native cutthroat trout, brown, rainbow, brook or lake trout. Our warm water streams and lakes contain perch, sunfish, walleye, bass, catfish and other warm water species. Men – Wading trout streams can be a lot of fun and, trout fly fishing is it brown trout, lake trout, rainbow trout or just about anything else that is trout, can keep the fly fisherman engrossed for hours on end.

Fishing is something near and dear to many of us, as are our families and vacation days. Fishing is a great way to beat the heat, but it helps to know how to use the high temperatures to your advantage. Modern fly fishing is normally said to have originated on the fast, rocky rivers of Scotland and Northern England.

Fishing for sharks is an extreme form of fishing and is not for the faint hearted. As this can be a dangerous sport, it is very important that you know a few things about it before going out to sea and hunting these magnificent creatures.

The first thing to do when embarking on a shark fishing trip is to make sure you start off with all the gear you need on hand. Remember your straps or you may end up overboard with the sharks and become fresh bait! The equipment you use needs to be able to withstand a three hundred pound fish or larger – you never know the size of the shark you might encounter.

If you know the specific type of shark you are looking to catch then you can more easily determine where to set your trap. First, attach your bait using a flat clip to the bow rail. Once the bait is on, attach a balloon or a weight and make sure it goes down roughly 80 feet. Rest the second bait in the trolley holder and sink it to 60 feet. The third line should be down 30 feet and baited without a balloon. If you allow your drags to be loose you will quickly hear them making noises if you get a bite. Similarly you might want to use different colored balloons so you know which line is being pulled.

As soon as you have caught your shark take care! All sharks have different temperaments and you need to be aware that they can behave erratically. Some sharks may take the bait and swallow and be landed with little struggle. Others may attack the boat or try to drag the line in the opposite direction. If a harness is required, make sure is it properly attached to the reel and boat.

When the shark is close to your boat, quickly gain the assistance of a fellow fisherman to help pull the shark on board. Use a hand wire to help you do this, and never fasten it to yourself. You must always be in position to release it easily if the shark appears likely to injure you. Sharks are very strong creatures and they can be volatile, so extreme care must be taken.

Take care to return the shark to the water unless you have a very good reason for keeping it. Legitimate reasons to take it with you include using it for food, being in a fishing competition, or you think it is a potential record breaker.

If you adhere to these basic tips, you will enjoy a much safer and successful shark fishing expedition that leaves you with great memories.

Golf trainers who have been to high level training sessions, such as any PGA program, know the discipline of picking the right golf clubs.

These trainers also know how to understand the effects of the body’s movement in respect to the golf club being used. Trainers act as consultants, giving important tips to their students. It is easy to fall prey to marketing hype, however. If your trainer favours only one brand, this is a sign that he may be just riding the hype. It is better to find golf trainers who are flexible in their choice of brands. This is a good sign of objectivity.

Luckily, common golf players are becoming more and more knowledgeable in getting the right equipment. Attribute this to the many shows on TV providing guides to the audience.

Common knowledge dictates that golf equipment, especially golf clubs, have a very strong influence on your game. Having substandard equipment can be a headache for trainers in teaching their students. Remember, a poorly constructed golf club, for example, does not do its job well. If you work with this ugly equipment, you will be forced to compromise form to compensate for the insufficiencies of the club, resulting in poor form, and eventually, bad habits.

Bear in mind that all golfers need correctly designed golf clubs in order to play the game in the right way. When you swing forward you produce a centrifugal force that leads your hands and club shaft into a linear angle that hits the ball. This is the natural motion of our bodies. A bad golf club can and will distort this natural motion.

Quality golf clubs are, aside from being efficient in design, also durable in temperament. Golf clubs, when made with high quality materials, should last you quite a while. These are viewed as investments. Substandard golf clubs tend to be cheaper and easily get broken.

If you do have a good trainer, he should impart to you the importance of a good investment. Many golf clubs out there are reasonably priced and have a very high level of quality in terms of craftsmanship. Value for money is your main goal. You need not jump into expensive brand names at once.

Latest golf clubs now give you the luxury of allowing modifications and adjustments. Ask your golf instructor on ways you can adjust your clubs to your unique specifications. You can make do with what you have. If your golf clubs are not brand new, you can most likely have it adjusted to fit your needs. Once your golf game gets better, then you can explore the possibility of buying new and better equipment.
