As for Fernando Torres, as far back as his initial months with Chelsea,there was this conclusion (in terms of views from here) that he will be walking down the same path as Andrei Shevchenko. It wasn't and is not a case of Torres or Chelsea being the problem then, now and in future. In short, the 2 players mentioned belongs to an unsaid category of footballers; This category in my perspective is more of a mutual mis-fit (Club and Player), where blending becomes a problem, both parties will not only not benefit, but with the possibility of loss and negatives that could prove detrimental, especially to a footballer.
Unique (As i would term it) and talented footballers of top class pedigree has this difficulty of complementing each other on the pitch (Not all but as said, these 'unique' which carries with it a few vital factors). Torres if given the full weight of responsibility to shoulder in the club and/or is playing in a club where his presence carries a certain importance and influence, would excel and be / play like how he is and can be as a footballer.
It isn't title, EGO, star-attitude, etc... Players of this nature excel when they are given the full weight of responsibility and pressure. Part of their footballing nature is left stagnant when placed in an environment not meant for them, in terms of football and their own game-play and personality as a footballer/
No definites in this area. Examples are almost evident everywhere; England is in such a state where this country would be the least expected of to be on the margins of International Football. Stevie G And Frank Lampard isn't a good pairing in CM, but both are fantastic players , without doubt; Rio Ferdinand And John Terry, the actual anchors of England's defensive wall, only recently things became severe that the world got to know; but in their own ranks internally, no one can tell what has been happening behind in dressing room and on training grounds...ever since the days of Gazza, Lineker, Barnes, Butcher, Walker and so on....the difference is obvious without needing to analyse.

This isn't just limited to 1 country or rare few, but a problem almost present everywhere; with the level of severity being the only difference. A decade and back, every footballer played due to passion, and solely that; the love for the game, nothing else mattered; while that was when majority of historical legends were created and etched in the history of football...What more can be said.....

He will be looking to continue his great season with a stellar performance in this semi-final first leg. With Fernando Torres to contend with for a starting spot as the going seems to be in that direction, Ba will have to be at the top of his game at all times to keep the Spanish star on the bench.

Swansea are in a safely place in the league, thus, they will not have anything to hold back on players' rest and similar for this game. Expect them to field their best outfield players.
Swansea will look to hit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge; with the 2nd league in mind. Swansea' Michu would be an attacking threat, as are many others in the Swansea squad;.
