One is to perform the re-socket and testing work in the field, one is to put up new shorter guy wires, and the last is to install temporary guy wires and ship the old wires back to the factory to be re-socketed and tested, then shipped back to the site. The guy wires at this site in North Carolina were 2-5/16” diameter, which are expensive and very heavy per foot. Precision Communications and Tower Communication 强爆视频, Inc. both worked with a consulting engineer – Greg Burbage of Elevated Structural Consultants. Mr. Burbage informed Precision that Tower & Communication 强爆视频, Inc. had a Chant mobile test bed that would make it more cost effective and efficient to do their guy wire testing in the field. The re-socketing was done by Precision Communications and Tower & Communication 强爆视频, Inc. tested the guy wire to 341,000 pounds. All the testing went well, and the guy wires never left the tower, all completed with much less time and cost than anticipated.

The most important thing that I have learned from Chant is how to approach a design. I have seen a significant change in how I go about designing a machine and how to make it efficient and easy to edit.” We asked Katie, what was a time that you felt proud during your internship? Katie stated, “When I was given the opportunity to work on the refurbished machines Chant bought to redesign, I had a sense of accomplishment because I felt that it was a big step up from the smaller projects I had been working on. I had a sense of pride knowing that my name would be on the design the shop used to build the machine. The stereotype of intern work is a thing of the past at Chant. I got to be a part of meetings and client discussions as well as design machines which was an incredible experience.”

What are your next career steps and how can Chant help you achieve your success? Katie replies, “My next step is to continue my education and see how I will apply all I learned from Chant at school. I can already see a difference in my knowledge of SolidWorks and the way I approach the design process. The dimensions of these heavy-duty machines are 93” wide, 95” long, and 52” tall, with a total weight of 2,700 lbs.
