Under water, inside a train or both?

We all know that it is difficult to hold our breath under water, unless we are familiar with scuba diving! Nonetheless, the Amsterdam based design duo Million Dollar Design managed to take a deep breath and design an underwater world into an old rundown subway train. Commissioned by the Amsterdam Public transport Company, Million Dollar Design, represented by Dutch creative production agency Shop Around, were selected by Artists & Co to give a facelift to one of the 30-year-old "Silver Gulls" metro trains in Amsterdam.

Anneloes van den Bergh and Pauline Teunissen, founders of Million Dollar Design, blend illustration, photography and fashion to create a dreamy wonder-world with some dark accents. Their work is romantic with slightly rough edges. Faithful to their design values, they came across a romantic concept and they created an underwater world. Instead of a dark sense of dull gray stones on the ground and the plastic walls in the subway their design gives a sense of infinity in an underwater world where you feel like you can swim away. And although still being underground as a passenger, you are now in a colorful world of fantasy.. ..

Is'nt is lovely? I will board that particular load whenever I board the train. And I mean every single day! Ahhhhh.

I especially love the combination photo shows six of the finalists of the men's 10-meter platform diving competing at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) August 24, 2010. The finalists shown are (top row l-r) Canada's Marc Sabourin-Germain, Venezuela's Robert Paez and Ukraine's Oleksandr Bondar and (bottom row l-r) China's Qiu Bo, Malaysia's Ooi Tze Liang and Germany's Tim Pyritz.

Dancers in Motion

Dancers are admired for the way they move. Fluid and graceful, they are often seen twirling and spinning across an open stage.

Photographer Bill Wadman wanted to capture these movements, but in an unconventional way. Instead of taking boring still shots, he decided to go with long-exposures, allowing us to track the movements of these modern-day ballerinas.

A team of students at the Columbus College of Art & Design painted a mural to the Super Marios Bros. Nintendo game theme.
The interactive mural is 16 feet tall, 38 feet wide and took 12 students 8 days to create.

Two lenticular lighted panels were installed in subway stations to mimic “The Wave”, the celebration of Brazilian fans. Those walking past the panel will see the Gigantic Wave forming right before their eyes as they pass the 16-meter long panel.

Whao Whao Whao Whao Whao~ In Singapore we called it the Kallang Wave! How signifant!
