I completely forgot I actually have a Twitter account until I read this BusinessWeek article, CEOs’ Take on Twitter.

Remember when Lena Chen first told me about Twitter last winter?
I thought it was some weird porno thing!

She told me it was “like blogging but on crack.” So true! I signed up, created a profile, tweeted a few times but…

I don’t think I’m cut out for minute-by-minute public updates. For one, my life is extremely boring (read: normal) these days. And two, I know the dangers of oversharing.
Besides, who the heck would want to read about my daily life?

Between my pitiful debate coverage and my running BB convos with The ETA, I think I do enough live blogging.

But speaking of BlackBerrying…
I wonder if you can Tweet from a Crack?
Hmmmm.
Perhaps this is something to investigate.

Google Prevents Drunk Emailing

Google released a useful new Gmail feature yesterday in its labs, which could help prevent the intoxicated from sending embarrassing late-night emails they might regret in the morning.

When activated, the program will force a user to solve a series of math problems before allowing any message to be sent.

They are not terribly difficult, but do serve as an extra line of defense in what can be a very dangerous habit.

The service is set by default to kick in only on weekend nights, but you can change the settings to apply whenever.

As for drunk dialing and texting, you're still on your own.

This was, I think, a mauling: a devastating and possibly electorally fatal debate for McCain. Even on Russia, he sounded a little out of it. I've watched a lot of debates and participated in many. I love debate and was trained as a boy in the British system to be a debater. I debated dozens of times at Oxofrd. All I can say is that, simply on terms of substance, clarity, empathy, style and authority, this has not just been an Obama victory. It has been a wipe-out.It has been about as big a wipe-out as I can remember in a presidential debate. It reminds me of the 1992 Clinton-Perot-Bush debate. I don't really see how the McCain campaign survives this.

McCain agrees OB is correct "somewhat" on war issues but they chastises him for failing to admit he was wrong about the strategy in Iraq. OB chuckles to himself and shakes his head.

Someone from the 'net wants to know about Russia. McCain says there is "no doubt" that we'll ever have another Cold War. On meeting with Putin:
"I looked into his eyes and saw three letters: a 'K,' a 'G' and a 'B.'"
Is this intended to distance himself from the Bush-Putin bromancce????
Maybe I am too uneducated to understand.

I know that this town-hall format is suppose to work in McCain's favor, but Obama really knows how to work the crowd. He gets right out there with people and addresses issues in a personal, specific manner. This is why people LOVE him.

Sorry, Johnny. You really can’t mention Obama’s lack of experience when you picked (hello!) Sarah Palin as your VP. Also! McCain really isn’t in any position to provide the country with a “cool hand.” Isn’t he known for being a huge, explosive bully?

Is it just me or is it rude and distracting that McCain refuses to look at Obama when OB is speaking? And what the hell is Brokaw talking about when he asks, “Do you fund a thousand garages so we create a new Silicon Valley”?

McCain babbles about Obama's inexperience and says (again) we don't have time for on the job training "my friend."
Obama fires back with, sure I don't understand how we ended up invading the wrong country after 9/11. McCain looks... perplexed.
Obama points out that we're spending $10 billion A MONTH in Iraq and the Iraqis have a $79 billion SURPLUS.

DETAILS GUYS, DETAILS! The people watching tonight want to hear details! Give 'em to us!

Eeeeeeehg. Obama is tripping up a bit on this morality stuff. It's bad news when he starts to stutter.

McCain uses "my friends" again. For the 9th time? I don't know how the audience is actually staying awake for this b.s. They certainly don't appear to be a very lively crowd.

Guilty Pleasure of the Weak: Sqyntz!

I’m really not a huge advocate of sugar-free food, but these sour candies are my latest obsession – so much so that I’m contemplating buying them in bulk online.
At $1.99 a tin, why not?
I’m not even sure where I got them, but I’ve been looking compulsively at every deli in NYC. They taste SweetTarts, except 900 times better and much less grainy. The tropical fruit variety has three flavors – Maui Melon, Pineapple/Mango, and Kiwi/Lime. I don’t have a favorite – I just wolf them down by the handful.

I wonder what it means when you crave sour candies all day? Am I deficient in some weird nutrient or just a citrus freak?
Hmmmm.

I know I probably shouldn’t – every time I dye my hair dark I regret it three weeks later – but Angelina’s gorgeous chocolate locks make me want to go brown so badly!
