Here at Springfree™ Trampoline we are celebrating a ‘Young Person of the Year’ in our midst.

Belinda, a sales and customer service consultant in our Sydney office was announced as the 2010 winner of the PCYC Young person of the Year.

When asked why do you think you were the chosen one she said, “It was completely unexpected. I had no idea I was even nominated but it might have something to do with my success in table tennis last year.”

And success it is. Here is a list of her achievement from the last two years alone;

- Australian Representative 2006-2009

- U18 Aus Women’s doubles winner 2008-2009

- Australian Commonwealth Youth Games representative held in Pune, India 2008

- World Junior Circuit U18 women singles Semi-finalist 2009

- First Australian to represent Oceania in the World Junior Circuit finals in Tokyo, Japan 2009

- Australian Representative to compete in World Junior Championships in Colombia 2009

- Rank 1 in NSW Women U18 2009

Belinda has been associated with the PCYC since 2002 and they have supported her through a full sponsorship for her table tennis activities since 2006. Belinda said this award made her feel like all the hard work and effort she has put into table tennis over the years has paid off.

The official awards ceremony will be held on 11th September 2010 in Bathurst. Woohoo – Go Belinda!!!

The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.

I look forward to Fathers Day every year. Take Dad out for a breakfast give him his new socks for the year and toast to a great dad that has given us kids every opportunity in life. But I am embarrassed to admit that I have no idea how Fathers Day came about.

So in light of this Sunday I made it my mission to find out.

The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father’s Day while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909.

She was raised by her father after her mother died and Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man.

I’m THAT one in my family that is known for bad present buying. So I did some asking around early this year to all the fathers here in the Springfree™ Trampoline AU office and this is what they thought might be a nice idea for fathers day..

The Norm….

Socks

Boxers

Pyjama’s

A little bit different….

Zoo Tickets (so you can share the day togetherJ)

A massage

Anything from Bunning’s!

A golf day

Straight from the heart….

Personalised photo frame decorated by the kids

A poem

Breakfast in Bed

Make a video about the ‘best Dad in the world’

OR you can check out our page tomorrow as we will be doing a nice little competition to celebrate Father’s Day. Just like we did for Mothers Day…

This cause has a very special place in our hearts, as our Finance and Administration Manager, Leanne has beautiful step daughter with Cystic Fibrosis.

This event is now in its 5th year, being the premiere charity cycling and amateur criterium race on the Sunshine Coast, raising much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland.

It will be held on the Eastbank Foreshore on the scenic Lake Kawana and will feature the Family Charity Cycle, Experienced Riders event along with a live broadcast from Hot 91 with many after event activities planned. This is includes us! We can’t wait to be there providing safe jumps for all the kids (and big kids!).

As I mentioned before the The Charity Cycle raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland – a not-for-profit organisation that provides emotional, financial and physical support to over 800 children and adults affected by cystic fibrosis, and their families.

‘The AHG Adventurers’ launched ‘The Mont Blanc Project 2010’, as a fundraiser for Childhood Cancer patients at Perth’s Princess Margaret Hospital, Ward 3B, The Total Care Unit.

Lead by Perth based businessmen Rick Parish and Peter Wilson the objective is to reach the summit of Mont Blanc in France. It’s a tough, challenging and physically demanding climb but it pales by comparison to what many children and their families go through every day in Ward 3B, Princess Margaret Hospital.

The Mont Blanc Project 2010 – A Climb for Childhood Cancer involves people from all walks of life committed to making a difference to children and families, alike, suffering from cancer.

One of these climbers is Joe Lopino who we have a close business affiliation with in his role at Direct Freight express.

Let’s get behind him and donate to his climb here…

Go Joe!

It was once the budget way to buy – and the old-fashioned lay-by is making a comeback! Major retailers said lay-bys were being favoured over credit cards as consumers found ways to shop smarter through the tough times.

And the Springfree™ Trampoline is a definite favourite for Christmas Lay-by’s.

Lay-bys allow consumers to pay for goods via an up-front deposit followed by regular repayments. Goods are held until the final price has been paid.

Springfree™ Trampoline Lay-by Option is available any time throughout the year for a period of 12 months. All we require is a minimum deposit of $100 on the SF40, and $200 on all other models. It’s really that easy and before you know with consistent payment, your kids will be having the time of their lives .
