Over the past 24 hours, the concerns regarding unlimited talk and text on Verizon MVNO Page Plus Cellular have begun to outrage the community. Specifically, Page Plus has been disconnecting users for talking too long on their “Unlimited Talk & Text” plan.

In the past month alone, users have encountered issues with activating certain Verizon Wireless phones. Page Plus has said through unofficial channels that this was due to data provisioning issues on Palm OS devices, and that ESN-based HTC, BlackBerry and Palm devices could no longer be activated. Because this issue only affected older ESN blocks (serial number ranges), MEID-based Palm and HTC phones can still be activated, though BlackBerry devices cannot.

However, the latest effort described above has the community the most outraged. Users are being disconnected for having too many calls, as well as consuming too many minutes on their unlimited plans. Customers report being disconnected via text message, with no warning. Upon calling in to customer service, customers are told that their accounts cannot be reviewed, and that they cannot escalate the matter to a supervisor.

Worse, customers are being given conflicting information, some are told they can downgrade to the $29.99 Talk & Text plan, which offers 1,200 airtime minutes, while others are told they must port out. Some of these customers report low usages, but spiking to one hundred calls or minutes per day over the course of a couple or few days.

Page Plus has also been reported for losing multiple customer phone numbers during some of these instances, claiming it is impossible to reactive the mobile number, and that it is lost forever.

PhoneNews.com has attempted to contact Page Plus Cellular in regards to this article. Representatives from Page Plus commented that they were not able to refer us to any media contacts in the company. Page Plus has not offered any formal response to any of the situations in this article.

Boost Mobile has updated the Sanyo Incognito with a new firmware update. Most notably, the update adds full screen 3GPP video playback, enabling sites like m.youtube.com to play video in full screen on the phone’s large flip display.

The company’s switch to resuming sales of CDMA phones has led to some of the most attractive plans in the wireless industry today. The UNLTD plan delivers EV-DO Data, unlimited messaging, and unlimited voice for $50 per month. Their Pay As You Go plan offers the lowest data rate in the industry ($.35/day for EV-DO data), as well as inexpensive voice and messaging rates.

This new update does come with a cost, however. The phone disables some abilities to save files. You must use one of the many popular Sprint uploading tools to send unsigned files to the phone after updating. Prior to updating, the Incognito was able to access sites like GetJar with unfettered access.

To update your Sanyo Incognito, go to Settings > Tools > Update Phone > Software Version.

The service will allow wholesale partners and virtual operators on the Sprint network to offer prepaid mobile broadband services to their customers by the day, week or month or even by the megabyte. The service will be demonstrated during next week’s CTIA Wireless 2010 convention in Las Vegas.

The Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go prepaid mobile broadband solution was first offered last year and also recently improved by increased data allowances, placing it inline with contract based aircards from competitors on a prepaid basis.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint-Nextel CEO Dan Hessee will unveil the long-awaited HTC Supersonic dual-mode WiMax/EVDO Android smart device during his CTIA keynote speech this month on the 24th. This follows leaked images of the device which first surfaced at the beginning of the year along with preliminary confirmation, then a correction of the release timeframe for the device.

The Supersonic will be the first in a lineup of dual-mode WiMax/EVDO devices planned by the carrier as it shifts marketing priority from its 3G network and is currently touting WiMax as its advantage over competitors AT&T and Verizon, which have yet to launch networks based on the competing LTE standard.
