Hey guys. As far as I know, I have a tethered jailbreaked (redsn0w) iPhone 3GS with ios5.1, preserved baseband to unlock.

My phone crashed yesterday, and now I can’t enter DFU mode. Usually when this happens, i’m able to enter it using the normal method (power button, power+home button, home button).

This time, the phone is restarting every 3 minutes with the Apple logo. My hard resets (holding power&home) do nothing to reset the phone–it’s only every 3 minutes. I feel like this HAS happened before, and I was still able to enter DFU. This time I can’t. I have the phone plugged into USB. At this point it’s impossible for me to turn the phone off–it just restarts. I tried draining the battery overnight, but i’m not sure it completely drained (don’t think so). I might have to open it up to ‘reset’ the battery (?)

I try to coordinate my button holding with when the phone resets automatically. I hold the power button (which is almost broken, but I think it IS making contact) and then start holding the home button about 1 second after the Apple first appears. However, I never get the 2nd reset after about 9 seconds that tells me i’m entering DFU.

Help with Iphone4 on 4.1 (8b117) to uprade preserving baseband using Gevey Sim

I have an iphone 4 on 4.1 (8b117) and need to get a good tutorial on how to create a custom firmware to preserve my 2.10.04 baseband so I can still use my gevey sim for t-mobile. Also, i am probably going to loose my jailbreak but will that loose my apps??? If so how can I save my current jailbroke apps?? I know i need redsn0w but just need a little guide on the steps so not to brick my phone.

Hey guys, quick question, I have jailbroken ios 5.0.1, and if i upgrade my phone, im sure i will lose the jail break. how do I after the upgrade, put everything back on it after i rejail break it?

No wifi on 6.15.00 4.2.1 (8c148)

I have a 3G that has no wifi. It has been jailbroken with 6.15.00 modem firmware When I open Cydia I get an unable to load (The internet connection appears to be offline) message. Any help would be appreciated. I Am trying to unlock this for use on tmobile but am not getting very far. I tried Sn0wbreeze to unlock but could not load the custom package with Itunes or redsn0w.

redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 Hangs on wating for reboot.

I have a 3gs with 4.2.1(8C148). When trying to Jailbreak so I can unlock. redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 and redsn0w 0.9.6b5 lock up on the waiting for reboot window. Tried with only Cyndia still having same issue. Also if I try to restore from Itunes I get a version issue. The serial on my phone starts with 5K9495, and the model is MB046LL.

Newbie needs help with possible bricked 3GS!!

I will make this as simple as possible and would really appreciate help.
1. Had iphone 3GS on 5.1.1 locked with AT&T
2. Jailbroke and unlocked it, put in T-mobile SIM…all fine (except poor GPS accuracy)
3. Found out that AT&T would legally unlock phone so I applied and got unlock permission.
4. Followed instructions to connect to iTunes and restore (expecting an unlock message at the end)
5. Upon iTunes restore get "There is no SIM in phone…put in SIM and retry".
6. T-mobile service is now gone!
7. So, phone is stuck here (although I can jailbreak again but T-mobile service is still gone)

Is there any way to restore it completely without this SIM card error message?
I would really like to return phone to total stock and unlocked by AT&T so I can get good GPS and phone service. Don’t need or want any jailbroken features.

But now, even if jailbroken the phone service does not work.

Please help me.

How to Recover Photos (Files) From Iphone 3G Stuck In Recovery Mode?!

hey guys,

i own a iphone 3g jailbroken 4.2.1, randomly i found my iphone was stuck in recovery mode. I have tried to exit out of recovery mode, i already tried tinyumbrella. I found my iphone’s backup file on my computer, but it was backed up in 2011. I want to recover my photos, dont really care about the music. I tried iphone backup extractor, but it only allows you to transfer 2 files at a time. i have close to 700 pics. are there any free programs like iphone backup extractor, i really dont want to pay the 25 dollars. can anyone give me a link to a cracked version. Also if i restore my iphone using redsnow will it erase my photos. please let me know guys. i really need my iphone up and running asap.

3G unlocked phone restore

I have a 3G phone running on 4.1 and modem 5.13.04, it is jailbroken and unlocked and open to any UK network.

Anyway I am wanting to sell it so would like to restore the phone to delete all personal data etc, so I believe I could create a custome 4.1 firmware package for it with redsn0w and then restore in iTunes. But this doesn’t work as Redsn0w will not create a custom ipsw for 4.1

Any suggestions?:-7

Memory exhausted by redsno0w

Iphone 3G stuck at Pineapple when attempting to “Just Boot” from Redsn0w

The phone is on 4.2.1 FW but the baseband is on 6.15.00 as a result of upgrading using Redsn0w. The upgrade first worked then while at Cydia to get Ultrasnow from the source, the phone froze. I powered down the phone and attempted a reboot. It finally worked and again noted I was on 4.2.1 FW and 6.15.00 BB, but again failed while at Cydia to complete the Ultrasnow download.

Now it seems that I am unable to much of anything from Redsn0w. I attempted to reinstall the downgrade again using Redsn0w. I get all the way to the screen where the data is being downloaded to the phone then well into the routine where the little guy with the Pineapple is loading all the data, then to the reboot. As the phone displays scrolls through the data that is being processed, everything stops with an error stating mounting rootfs as read-only then the next line is error!

If I simply try to boot tethered, again all appears to be normal, redsn0w finishes and then after the hard drive image shows loading data, the phone displays a pineapple on the screen where it remains for several minutes then the phone reverts to recovery mode.

If I choose the option in Redsn0w to fix recovery error, the above cycle is repeated again where I finally get the error of mounting rootfs as read-only then the next line displays error and it will sit there forever.

Any suggestions to restore, repair to get the phone to just do a normal boot. Am I bricked?? Is there any solution for me?
