Updated to latest JDBC drivers from Oracle, Sybase, Postgres and Microsoft (SQLServer 2005 driver now included). The legacy drivers are still available from the download page if they are needed.

To work around a Leopard issue, when running on 10.5 or later, the editor is always opened at startup. This preference should be reenabled once the issue is resolved.

Revised look and feel to fit more into current Mac OS X paradigm.

Fixed a syntax coloring issue seen when opening certain SQL files with certain comment constructs.

Fixed a problem that was causing an opened file to be processed and stylized multiple times when it should have only been processed once.

A class of Java exception that was only printing a stack trace to the console is now displayed as a proper app error that the developer sees like any other exception.

Added slightly improved UI updates when an exception occurs.

SQLGrinder is now a Universal Binary, and will run natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs.

[ADDED] Added preference to quote table column names in the internal queries used by the schema browser data table. This allows the data in tables that use reserved words as column names to be retrieved.

[FIXED] Fixed a problem with new windows repositioning themselves after window is displayed and "Display login sheet when new window is opened" preference is set to true.

[ADDED] Handling of lost connections is now handled is a more robust manner. Connections are now checked before use, and if a connection is lost, the user is prompted to see if they want to reconnect to the database.

[FIXED] Fixed a problem retrieving schema table columns for FrontBase.

[FIXED] Reload Keywords menu item is no longer enabled when preference is disabled.

[FIXED] Corrected a problem where keyword completion wasn't working when a table or procedure table had an underscore character in the name.

SQLGrinder 2 Beta 3 includes the following changes:

[ADDED] Added "All Columns" to search field menus, so that all columns of a result set can be searched at once.

[ADDED] User now prompted to save new logins upon successful connections to databases. Can be turned on and off in Login preferences.

[ADDED] Added an icon that shows the edit state of the data table in the schema browser. Only tables with primary keys can be edited.

[ADDED] SQL statements can now be sent with command-return as well as command-enter.

[ADDED] Added preference to automatically retrieve rows for data table when switching to the data tab in the schema browser. Thread for loading rows can also now be canceled.

[ADDED] Added schema qualifier to reduce schema retrieval data set. Primarily for Oracle users, the database in the login sheet can now be specified as SID:schema so that instead of the entire world being pulled back, which is what the Oracle JDBC driver returns, a specific schema and only that schema will be loaded. Usage: DevDB:SCOTT will retrieve only the SCOTT schema from the database with an SID of DevDB. This is a lot faster than pulling everything back and displaying it, even when you can't view and edit most of the schema outside of SCOTT and don't need that data.

[FIXED] Resolved issues related to switching to working offline while editing schema browser data table.

[FIXED] Windows are smarter about their saved sizes and positions.

[FIXED] Hitting return to end schema browser data table change now updates data correctly.
