How to install Language packs in windows 7 service pack 1 (sp1) Starter, Home basic, home premium and professional Editions.

Welcome back,

windows 7 comes with six editions like starter, home basic, home premium, professional, enterprise and ultimate.
Every edition has different features and the ultimate edition includes all features but problem is every one can’t afford ultimate edition.
Today we talk on Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packages.
This feature is available via windows update in enterprise and ultimate editions all other editions are not supported via windows update.
So what to do if you recently purchased a laptop or a desktop pc with Windows 7 in English or any other language and you want to use it with your national language. But unluckily your windows edition is starter, or home basic, home premium which is not directly allowed to install MUI Packs (language packs).
Don’t worry we have a solution named Vistalizator.
Vistalizator is a small utility to install language interface packs in windows vista and seven.
How to use vistalizator,
First of all we need our language pack file which you will download from internet by searching windows 7 sp1 language packs in google or any good search engine or from Microsoft website. (language packs are also available on vistalizator site)

Then Download Vistalizator here

Now you are ready to install by running Vistalizator.
But our topic is to install language interface pack in windows 7 sp1 (service pack 1).
When you run vistalizator on windows 7 sp1 it will gives you error looks like this.

Don’t upset every problem has a solution, just follow these steps.

1. Right click on Vistalizator and then go to Properties.

2. now click on Compatibility tab then click on "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select windows 7 then click on "Run this program as an administrator" then click OK.

3. Finally now run vistalizator again it wil works fine looks like this image.

4. now click on Add languages and select your downloaded language pack file.

5. now program verifies the file and then click on Install Language and just wait until finish this will takes up to 15 minutes depends on system then vistalizator ask's to restart the system. save your work and restart.

that's it. after restarting system your selected language will be applied.

and if you want to revert to your old Language just run vistalizator the select your language and click on change language.

some times in windows 7 sp1 vistalizator shows one error but it is normal your task will be completed.

Google Doodle Celebrates Independence Day of Pakistan

I Guess this is first time ever happened in Google’s history Finally Google has given Pakistanis a doodle for Pakistan's Independence Day. The design of the doodle is not very artistic. Just something thrown in a hurry. The doodle does not reflect on people and culture of Pakistan or even the importance of the day.

They have used minar-e-Pakistan as L in the Google. Minar-e-Pakistan was built to remember the day when Pakistan resolution was passed by All India Muslim League on 23rd March 1940. This building represents another day that we celebrate which is called the Pakistan Day.

The head of the second g is shaped like the Crescent and star in Pakistani flag. There are other stars thrown in which are all green and the one with the Crescent is white.

Perhaps other stars, and then the one different from other stars point to some sort of symbolism on how Pakistanis are very much like rest of the world yet uniquely different. Happy Independence day...

Today we have a Good news for all the Muslims. Google has announced that it is launching Makkah Live a channel that is video live streaming from Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca during Ramadan. The live streaming is done in collaboration with Saudi culture and media ministry.
An official page at YouTube has been made which will show live prayers from Makkah for the whole month of Ramadan.

Google said:

This is the first LiveStream event coming from MENA, specifically Saudi Arabia, and we hope that it will give the opportunity not only to 2 billion Muslims but to the entire world to observe ~1M Muslims praying each day from the holiest point in Makkah, The Kaaba, for the first time in history.

How To Hide Hard Disk Partition in Windows To protect data Without Any Software

Every one of us want to hide important files and documents or some thing special from everyone specially from computer users who shares same computer. But unfortunately there is no such feature in windows expect hide files and folders but this is such a common way that every one knows and can unhide the files at any time. Another annoying thing with hide files and folders is this that you have to hide each file and folder manually every-time so if you want to hide large amount of data then this will be really hard for you.
The best way is Secure your data is move all those files in a single partition and just hide the partition.
There are so many utilities available to hide files and folder but you have to install them in order to use them, similarly you have to open the application every-time you need to lock or unlock the drive. But here is the little trick that I’m sure most of the users are not aware of.

Steps to Hide a Partition

I have three partitions on my Hard Disk I will hide Drive D:

Just right click on My Computer icon and Select Manage from menu.

A new window will open, Just click on Disk Management link at the bottom of the list. You will see your hard disk partitions on the right side of the window.

Just Right click on the partition you want to hide and select Change Drive Letter and Paths from menu.

Now just click Remove button and then click OK button.

A message will appear: Ignore this warning and click Yes button (Please note that you can’t hide any hard disk partition that contain windows System Volume Information. for example C: drive.

That's it A quick check in My Computer clearly show that, partition (D:) no longer exist.
But do not worry this just hides the partition from my computer, logically it’s still there with all the data intact.

Note: Some times you need to Restart your Computer in order to hide partition.
So what if you want to unhide the same partition you just hide. well same procedure as mention above, and in Disk Management simply right click on that partition, and click on Change Drive Letter and Paths
and Click on Add button.
Assign a letter for this partition (D for my case) and press OK button.

Earlier yesterday, a corruption occured in a small percentage of users' systems that resulted in some of skype community not being able to sign in to Skype. Skype issued some instructions which would allow you to get back online, but understand that they're fairly technical, and have been working hard to produce a version of Skype for Windows which fixes this problem automatically.
If you're using Skype for Windows, and have experienced problems logging in, please update Skype to the latest version now.
or uninstall skype and Install again
and the second way to repair skype you can follow the steps below to fix the problem manually.

Windows

If the Skype icon is displayed in the system tray at the bottom right of the screen, right-click it and select Quit.
Click Start, type "run" and press Enter. (On Windows XP: Click Start and then Run.)
Type "%appdata%\skype" and click OK.
Locate and delete the file shared.xml. The file may be displayed as shared if file extensions are not displayed by default on your computer.
If you cannot find this file:
- Click Start, type "run" and press Enter. (On Windows XP: Click Start and then Run.)
- Type "control folders" and click OK.
- In the View tab, ensure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled.
- Repeat the instructions from the beginning.
Restart Skype.

Mac

Open Finder and locate the following folder:
Delete the file shared.xml.
Restart Skype.

The ~ sign means your home folder. You can find your home folder by opening Finder and selecting Go > Home from the menu bar or pressing Command (Apple), Shift and H keys at the same time.

Linux

Go to the following folder:
Delete the file shared.xml.
Restart Skype.

The Skype folder is a hidden folder - please check Show hidden files in your file browser to view and access it.

How to Remove and Uninstall Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) or Rollback to Internet Explorer 8 or 7

IE9 (Internet Explorer 9) is nice great enhancement and improvement for many Windows 7 and Windows Vista users, however, not all people is having a positive experience.especially IE9 Beta users have faced various issues, errors and problems such as random crash, page not responding, not compliant with websites, not working on e-commerce sites, automatic page stop working and reloading, and worse, some users can’t even install IE9 properly.

For people who still feel uncomfortable to use IE9, here’s the way to uninstall and get rid of IE9. After uninstalling, Windows Vista and Windows 7 will automatically revert and bring back IE7 and/or IE8 as previously installed on the system.

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Click the Start button , type Programs and Features or type appwiz.cpl in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

How to Auto-login your Facbook Account using Google account(Gmail), Yahoo and OpenID's

I really wanted to write this post from a long time. But with lack of Blogging time i can’t post. Most major Web companies – Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc. – have announced support for OpenID, meaning that you can use your credentials from any one of those services to register and login to third-party websites that support OpenID. But Facebook is taking a big leap beyond all of these companies today by enabling you to login to its own site using either Gmail or OpenID.

That means You can now link both your Google Account (including Gmail), MySpace, Yahoo ID and OpenID with your Facebook profile.

ADVANTAGES

The advantage of linking you other online accounts with Facebook is that if you are signed-in into any of the above services, you'll automatically be logged into Facebook as well. So for example, if you working in Google Docs or writing scraps in Orkut and then decide to open Facebook in another tab, you won't see the Facebook sign-in screen anymore.

How To Link
To setup this association between Facebook and Yahoo/Google Accounts do the steps written below.
Step 1. Login to your facebook account,
Step 2. Go To Account Setting,
Step 3. click on Add a new linked account,
Step 4. From the pull down menu Select your preferred service,
Step 5. Facebook will send you to selected service's authorization page,
Step 6. Once you’ve authorized the connection your two accounts are linked!

How To Create A Manual System Restore Point In Windows 7

What is System Restore:

Windows System Restore is an awesome system recovery tool, and it's included with Windows for free. It's the ideal solution for rolling back bad drivers, fixing when buggy software breaks your PC, or simply rolling you back to a previous point in time.

System Restore in Windows 7 Is Better than XP:

If you've ever tried the XP variety of System Restore, the uselessness of it probably left a bad taste in your mouth. Setting a system restore point was often agonizingly slow, and when it came time to actually attempt a system restore, it rarely did what you wanted it to do. But if you've upgraded to Vista or Windows 7, you should really give System Restore another chance. Back in the XP days, system restore simply used a file filter and copied files around, but since Vista, it uses the Shadow Copy features built into Windows—essentially, Windows can create a snapshot of your drive as of a certain point in time, which can then be used later to restore your PC should anything go wrong. while the XP version could only really roll back from certain Windows changes and generally didn't work that well, System Restore in Vista or Windows 7 can actually roll back to a previous version of an installed application.

Create A Manual System Restore:
One of the best practises to keep your system stable is creating a restore point before playing with system files, or installing a new software. Although most of the programs create a restore point automatically before the installation, the same can’t be said for all the programs out there for Windows.
To create a manual restore point in Windows 7 you need to follow the steps given below:

1. Right-click on Computer icon and select Properties to open System Properties window. Alternatively, you can also use Windows key + Pause/Break shortcut to launch the System Properties.

2. In the System Properties window, click on the System Protection link.

3. Once the System Protection tab is opened, just click on the Create button to create a new manual restore point for the drives that have system protection turned on.

4. You will be asked to enter a description for the new restore point. Type in the description and hit the Create button.

5. Wait for a few seconds to see the “Restore Point was created successfully” message.

6. You are done!

This is not a new idea by any means. I first read about this concept on a blog a year or two ago But i cant find this again ! I really like this concept, I want to talk about it again. I have done this before when I was away from home and it worked perfectly. It basically involves using Skype as a security camera to check your home from another location.
Home security systems are extremely expensive these days but a fairly rudimentary cheap but effective system can be set up using Skype and a webcam.

How To Setup:

We assume, you already have a Skype account called MySkype. (if not, you can download Skype for free HERE!)
You need to get another Skype account and give it a name, for the purpose of this example, let’s call it MyHomeSkype. Now log-in to Skype from your home computer with the new MyHomeSkype account.

Select Tools-Options and set up as below:

Privacy > Allow calls from: Only people from my Contacts
Calls > Incoming Calls: Auto-answer incoming calls
Video Settings> Select your Web cam
Video > Enable Skype Video
Video > When I am in a call: Start my video automatically
Video > Automatically receive video from: No one or People in my Contact List

Before you leave home, just make sure your home PC has Skype running in the background with MyHomeSkype account.
Where ever you are, just use Skype with your normal account MySkype and call MyHomeSkype, you will see the video. you can watch the video of your home on your iPhone. using skype iphone app.
just launch Skype app on your iPhone log in on your primary Skype account and make a video call.

That’s it. In this way you can set up Skype to become your home iPhone security camera.

Kill non-responding Programs in Windows [Trick]

To kill non-responding or hung or frozen applications, normally one opens the Task Manager, and right clicks on the process and selects End Task.

But you can also create a desktop shortcut to kill such non-responding applications in a click.

To do so, right click on an empty area on your desktop.

Select New>Shortcut.

In the first box of the Create Shortcut Wizard, type :

taskkill.exe /f /fi “status eq not responding”

Click Next.

Name the shortcut TaskKill. (or what ever you like)

Click Finish.

Then select an appropriate icon for it !

The shortcut uses the Taskkill command to identify and terminate application/s that are Not Responding.

Or you could create a .bat file (right click desktop > New > Notepad) with the following matter:

@echo off
taskkill.exe /f /fi “status eq not responding”
exit

Save it as .bat file.
and if you want to create a hot key for the .bat file then create a shortcot to it. In the shortcut properties, "Shortcut tab" click in the "Shortcut key:" field then press the key you want to assign as the hot key. For example press the left bracket "[" and it will assign "Ctrl + Alt + [". That is your hot key combination to execute the .bat file.

WiFi Hacking Is Now Legal Dutch Courts new Rule

Breaking in to an encrypted router and using the WiFi connection is not an criminal offence, a Dutch court ruled. WiFi hackers can not be prosecuted for breaching router security.
A court in The Hague ruled earlier this month that it is legal to break WiFi security to use the internet connection. The court also decided that piggybacking on open WiFi networks in bars and hotels can not be prosecuted. In many countries both actions are illegal and often can be fined.
The ruling is linked to a case of a student who threatened to shoot down everyone at the Maerlant College in The Hague, a high school. He posted a threat on the internet message board 4chan.org using a WiFi connection that he broke into. The student was convicted for posting the message and sentenced to 20 hours of community service, but he was acquitted of the WiFi hacking charges.
The Judge reasoned that the student didn't gain access to the computer connected to the router, but only used the routers internet connection. Under Dutch law breaking in to a computer is forbidden.
A computer in The Netherlands is defined as a machine that is used for three things: the storage, processing and transmission of data. A router can therefore not be described as a computer because it is only used to transfer or process data and not for storing bits and bytes. Hacking a device that is no computer by law is not illegal, and can not be prosecuted, the court concluded.
If a secure WiFi connection is hacked or an open network is used for WiFi leeching, the action could be tried under civil law, said criminal lawyer Mathieu van Linde of Blokzijl Advocaten . The ruling led to some controversy in The Netherlands. Van Linde found the verdict "remarkable". He reckoned that most people from The Netherlands assume hacking a WiFi network is illegal. He also added that the law used by the court in this case was formed in the early nineties, and could be outdated, since it was not intended to cover WiFi networks.
The Dutch attorney general decided to appeal the verdict. Within two years the case will be reviewed by the High Court of The Netherlands that will decide if a router can be defined as a computer under Dutch law.
Hacking or even 'piggybacking' on an open WiFi connection is illegal in a wide variety of nations. In some states in the US unauthorized access of a network is an criminal offense, in other states piggybacking can be fined. WiFi leechers in the UK can be fined or arrested, depending on the intentions of the leecher.
