The Dreaded Water tank Nightmare

for a month i've been plagued by our leaking pressurized water tank. it started with tiny drops of water under it.then eventually leading to a pressurized water leak. it even made me file a leave at the office several times because i can't take a bath. =))

i started putting some water based sealant onto it several weeks ago just to minimize the leak.

after a couple of days it started to leak big time again.

this glorified water tank is about 3 feet tall. made out of galvanized steel. not sure about the capacity.

the water tank is rusted inside so it slowly eats the metal below the tank.

2nd time i tried using a steel epoxy. good for a couple of days after that it start leaking again

3rd time - this time i'm really serious about this water tank. i'm badly stressed out with so many problems. with this thing adding up to my misery.

so i decided to remove the water tank from its mounting. my guess is that. the adhesives won't

propery stick to the tank because of the rust so i decided to sand it first and then i'll apply the adhesives

i have mounted the water tank. will fire it up tom. see if it will still leak.

Midnight meal

i usually don't eat dinner or breakfast for my diet. but after coming from the office. browsing

the net to relax and updating my blog. i suddenly craved for some food. decided to get up

and do a quick trip outside to buy some foods.

while riding my scooter (yamaha mio) and listening to music. i spotted a fried

chicken vendor. i bought 4 packs of crispy chicken skin and 2 cups of steamed rice.

a pack of crispy chicken skin cost around 7 pesos same goes with the rice.

it amounted to 42 pesos all. roughly around $1 us dollars.

while on my way home. bought a pack of cigarette(winston lights) too, one of the things

included in my survival kit :).

starting today i will try to transfer my DIY adventures from my facebook

this happened on september 19, 2009

since i don't have "that" money for a decent paint job for my car

i decided to practice painting it myself. ofcourse i don't want to

waste that $300-500 materials needed for this DIY.

so i decided to do it first on my Scooter (Yamaha Mio 115cc)

originally this scooter is colored Brown/Pink. its metallic brown on daytime, and its

pink at night.since the color indicated on my OR/CR (Certificate of Registration)

is red.i decided to paint it back to its original color.

PART 1

I wanted to have my car repainted already. but since i do not have the budget for a 20-30K Paint job
i decided to practice and do it my own.

several weeks ago i was researching around to net on how to properly use urethane type of paints.
i bought my spray gun at Ace hardware for p750 petot. got our old compressor at laspinas
and reconditioned it for this job.

before i started messing up with my car i decided to try it first on my bike

finally last saturday aug 30 thinking that i have some ample amounts of information to start this DIY job.
i decided to buy the materials at cavite color paint center.

Items needed:
1. Spray GUN and Compressor - bought my spray gun at ace for p750
2. Anzahl Urethane thinner - 1gal
3. Webber international red - 1 pt
4. Anzahl Top Coat - 1pt
5. Spray Filler Primer - 1pt
6. Sandpaper - i bought 4 pcs 600grit and 4pcs 1200grit
7. Catalyst
8. Newspapers
9. Masilya
10. Breathing Mask (Recommended)

Steps

1. Remove parts you wanted to paint
2. WetSand each part with 600grit sandpaper (don't oversand it)
3. Dry it thoroughly
4. Prepare all materials needed in one table
5. mix the spray filler primer with the thinner. as my friend told me it should be 1:1ratio meaning 1 part thinner for 1 part of primer. this is how it should be for first coating .since the spray gun i bought was too small, the 1:1 ratio was too thick for my spray gun
since it has a very small nozzle. so i tried mixing it near the 1:1 ratio as long as my spray gun can handle it.
6. before spraying it. test spray it first on a can or something. it should

be smooth. my first mix was too thick. that making it spray a web like

texture. you thin the paint more if thats the case
7. after spraying w8 for about an hour and sand it again. light sand only. u only need to remove the imperfections or dusts
that was trapped inside while spraying. you can spray your base coat already. but some of my friends told me that
its good if you leave it to dry for about 24hrs.before spraying again.

PART 2/DAY 2

1. prepare the materials needed for the base coat. the mixing ration should be around 1:2 1part paint for 2 parts thinner. 1/8 catalyst
2. wash the parts you painted yesterday with detergent soap. this is to remove. oils, dust, dirts, insects that might
have accumulated during the 24hour drying time.
3. dry it thoroughly.
4. before spraying, spray test it again onto something. paint should be smooth and wet looked when you sprayed it.
spray thin coats first and wait for around 10-20minutes before doing the second coat. do around 5coats of paint or sometimes
it depends on your mixture. just apply several coats until you think it look good already .
5. hang it onto something and wait for around 24hours again. or it depends on you. it will be dry for around an hour.
but its recommended if you wait for a 24 hour curing time.

PART 3/Day3

Steps:

1. wet sand everything again with 1200grit sandpaper.sand it very lightly removing imperfections again.
2. wash it with detergent soap again.
3. Dry it thoroughly
4. Prepare materials needed for the final coat(clear)
5. mix again. do the 1:2 ratio 1 part clear coat for 2 parts of thinner. mix 1/8 catalyst again
6. turn the knob on the bottom of the spray gun clockwise to decrease air. i noticed that it looked very wet on this settings
with slow strokes
7. apply several coats again. i recommend around 5 coats of clear coat.
8. wait for it to dry.
9. a painter friend told me to wait for a week before buffing.

well nothing fancy happened today on the office. just some typical everyday routines. fixing printers. solving network problems. get called by your colleagues that does'nt try before asking

for help. while at the office im thinking of ways to increase my adsense earnings. so i was thinking

to update this blog regularly.

everything seems fine today. i can't wait to go home. when i sms my wife asking

what time she's going home from work. she says she will timed out at 4pm. so i asked her

if she'll go home to my place after work. she told me she its hard to commute

while carrying our 2yr old daughter and a bag.

my mind went nuts. i just can't stand it when sometimes her boss asking for some favors and

she do it without even complaining. even though its not paid!

FYI i can only be with my wife and kid during weekends. because we both work and my

mother-in-law is the one in-charge of taking care of our kid. her mother's place is only

a walk distance from his home. and my place is about 10km on their place.

i just can't stand her being like that. even though i always picked them up if i have extra money

for my gas. i always told her that she did'nt even care of what i feel.its always her work

and her friends there. no time for me. no time to sacrifice just to be with me.

im getting tired of this. its like this for almost 2years now.

some people can't really understand...

i can't still forget how we spent the christmas last year with my daughter and wife. we almost circled the entire manila to spent xmas on my father side relatives, mother side relatives and ofcourse with my parents and siblings.

4 months to go and its xmas again. cant wait for it im already excited.

well today after work i just went home straight as fast as i can. searching for some online oppurtunities. unfortunately i can't really think of anything productive right.

slightly depressed at work becaused of the so-called salary increase which was promised to me last year. so im thinking on moving to another company. or try my luck at work at home jobs.

its really hard to ride my bike 75 kilomoters back and forth going to work.

a year ago i really enjoyed working at the office. but from some reason. i just felt tired working there.

well here's for now...

3 years recap...

its been a while since i last updated my blog. a lot has happened in my life.its just
i suddenly remembered my blog and wanting to continue it again.

3 years ago i was just a happy go lucky type of person. all i think was just myself
not too worried what might happened the next day. thinking of all the things
i did 3 years ago just put a smile on my face. its like the fun never stop before.
all i can think of everyday before was. "what should i upgrade next?" on my
bike or my car. what should i eat today? where should i hang out?

well everything ends. i think my life 3 years ago was the best.

on my previous post last 2006 was all about my bike and my adventures.
ive had several ex-bikes after that. from my xrm to a wave 125 to a raider 150
waveS 125,waveS 125 again, then a Yamaha Mio(present)

ive been involved in several illegal street race. luckily never been caught even once!

probably the reasons i've lay-low in these activites because my gf got pregnant
year 2007. good thing we were able to buy a 2nd hand car year 2007
so i wont be backriding her anymore in my bike.

right now im happily living at our house at bacoor cavite. together with my wife and my 2 year
old daughter elly.and working as an IT Support at Paranaque MM.

well i hope ill be able to post here as often as i can

its a cold night with nothing else to do but to blog, typing peacefully together with a fucked up keyboard and a turtle slow computer.im about to tell you guys a story about my adventure last night..lol hehe

yes, you read that right its the part 2 of the marks of the biker story.. but hey its not about me ok its about a friend of mine..so here it goes...

yesterday me and my 3 friends decided to take a spin at daang hari.after we drank some vodka and brandy(not recommended). when we're there at the first corner of daang hari. we decided to do a quick fun race.. then the race starts... squeezing very tight on the throttle doing around 120kmh, the stock yamaha crypton r was on the first place. i was the second, the 2 behind me was the sinski bigboy 150cc scooter modified and a lifan saturn 110cc stock. not sure though who was on the 3rd and 4th position coz i didnt cared about anything at that time but reaching the first position.

then suddenly nearing the very tight turn i deccelerate and there was this 2 guys behind me throttling very happy.. then i saw my friend heading to the road gutter and i was like "WTF where is he headin'???" then he slammed on the gutter with his lifan bike and i was shocked i stopped and dont know what to do.. instead i told him "Welcome to the club dude!"LOL coz that was his first bike crash. then the one with bigboy turned back then we helped our friend and asked him if he was ok.. and if he can still drive.he told us yes..

then we're wonderin where did our other friend go.. probably he was too happy that he was on the 1st position and never realized that he's racing with himself. then he looked back and wonder "where did everybody go??hehe" after a while we saw him on the other lane.. we decided to take a quick break at the nearest guard outpost. we fix our friend's bike then we head home

Resizing pictures and reducing size thru windows

this guide will teach you how to resize pictures you took thru windows without using some 3rd party image editing softwares

in this guide you'll learn:
-how to resize image size
-reduce image file size for better distributing

i'll use my recently posted picture as a reference

1. select which image size you want to edit:

-right click on the file of the image and select properties
you'll see some information like size, date modified/created/accesed

*notice the picture above is 260kb in size and 1280x960 in resolution
now the image is too big for some people to send specially if you're on a dial up
connection it will take ages.

2.close the properties page and right-click again on the file select open with..>Paint

*MSPAINT will now be opened with your selected image you'll notice how big the image is

3. now to resize the image. on mspaint click image>sketch/skew

*a dialog box will appear now let's choose 50% for both horizontal and vertical

*notice the image shrinks its size 50%

4.save the image in your desired location,then now check the image size

*noticed the image size got smaller? it's not 31.6kb compared to 260kb
the resolution got smaller too by 50%

now you can resize image size depends on how small you want.

The one that got away

In your life, you'll make note of a lot of people.
Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who
will always mean something. There's the one you first
kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the
one you put on a pedestal, the one you're with...and the one that got
away.

Who is the one that got away? I guess it's that person
with who everything was great, everything was perfect,
but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in
the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but
the cards just didn't fall the right way, I suppose.

I believe in the fact that ending up with someone,
finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely
in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal
part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with
the matter of timing. It has to do with you being ready
to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes
beyond the little niceties of giddy romance.

How often have you gone through it without even realizing
it? When you're not ready to commit in that mature manner,
it doesn't matter who you're with, it just doesn't work.
Small problems become big; inconsequentials become
dealbreakers simply because you're not ready and it shows.
It's not that you and the person you're with are no good;
it's just that it's not yet right, and little things become
the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you're ready. You really are. And when this
happens you'll be ready to settle down with someone. He or
she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the
brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your
life, but it'll work because you're ready. It'll work
because it's the right time and you'll make it work.
And it'll make sense, it really will.

things, and you find yourself to be a different person.

today?" You'll wonder, "What if we were together now, with me as I am

If you're married, you'll just have to accept the fact that the
one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy
tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But
hopefully you're mature enough to realize that you're
already with the one you're with and this is just another test
of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage
when you get past it. Sure, you'll think about him/her every so often,
but it's alright. It's never nice to live with a
"might have been," but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who's already married.
In which case it's the same thing. You just have to accept and know that
your memories of that person will probably bring a nice
little smile to your lips in the future when you're old and gray
and reminiscing.

But if neither of that is the case, then it's different. What do
you do if it's not yet too late? Simple...find him, find her. Because
the very existence of a "one that got away" means that
you'll always wonder, what if you got that one?

Ask him out to coffee, ask her out to a movie, it doesn't matter if
you've dropped in from out of nowhere. You'd be surprised, you just
might be "the one that got away" as well for the person
who is your "the one that got away."

You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won't make a
difference. If the timing is finally right, it'll all just fall into
place somehow and you know, I'm thinking, it would be a great
feeling, in the end, to be able to say to someone, "Hey you, you're
the one that almost got away."

bad habits

ever since i was a little kid.. i always gets annoyed to my mom everytime she lights
a stick of cigar. i simply cant stand the smell..when the time i graduated high school
i noticed some of my friends are trying out smoking, out of curiosity i tried very hard
practicing how to smoke.

now i've been smoking around 4yrs already..yet i already want to quit now.
but i can't live a day without smoking atleast 1 cigarette pack.
there are lots of quitting tips around on the internet.. but i guess nothing
will work for me..

Marks of a biker...

a while ago, a friend ask me if i could accompany him
around casimiro las pinas to help him choose a pipe
for his bike... while we're on our way home crusing at around 30kph
on a intersection, i turned right and i was surprise that there is a large
humps. i suddenly pull the breaks but my wheels skid and there was i
grinding my knee and my left foot on the asphalt. i suddenly got up
no one help me... instead of checking up myself, i checked my bike first if there was
any heavy damage made hehe. thank god im still alive..
