New beginnings are making moments

a time to survey and scan the horizon

holding memories melodied with stories

of people and events weaving the threads

of life into a tapestry of many colors.

a time to draw deep from roots

of foremothers and fathers

whose legacy of wisdom and courage

gives meaning to the past

value to the present

hope for the future.

a time to revel and drink deep

from life’s wellsprings

bubbling up new dreams to fulfill

other paths to follow

trusting the one who invites

a tried and true companion.

What do I know for sure?  Only this

God is faithful

love lasts forever

everything belongs

life is precious

living is holy

all is gift.
