Dear Confirmation Candidates and Families,
St. John the Apostle Church is happy to announce that the Most Rev. Manuel Cruz, D.D. will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on our candidates on Thursday April 30, 2020 at 7 PM and Wednesday May 6, 2020 at 7 PM. An informal reception with light refreshments and opportunity to take a photograph with Bishop Cruz will follow each of the Masses
Students with the last names starting with A-J will be confirmed at the April 30 Mass. Students whose last names begin with the letters K-Z will be confirmed at the May 6 Mass.
Practice for the Confirmation Masses will be for an hour on the evening before Confirmation at 5:15 in the church. Those who are being confirmed at the April 30 Mass will practice on April 29 at 5:15 PM. Those who will be confirmed at the May 6 Mass will practice on May 5 at 5:15 PM. Sponsors should attend these practices when possible. If the sponsor cannot attend, a parent or other trusted adult may represent the sponsor at practice.
As our Confirmation candidates do not wear robes at the Mass, guidelines for dress are as follows. Young ladies being confirmed should wear a dress or blouse and skirt that come to the knee. Slacks are also acceptable. Sleeves should cover the shoulder, or a sweater or wrap may be worn. Dress shoes must be worn. Young men should wear a suit and tie, or at least a shirt and tie with dress slacks and dress shoes. It is important to remember to dress according to the solemnity of this occasion.

Welcome back to school and CCD! Your catechists and I are very excited to help you to get ready to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

CCD starts the week of September 16, 2019. I'm going to stop by all of your classes to see you during this week so we can start the year off well.

Here is a list of important dates for Confirmation Prep. You must attend every event unless otherwise noted.

12 7:00-8:15 p.m. Upper Room Session SNOW DATE if needed
28 10 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Confirmation Retreat (includes confessions and Sunday anticipated Mass)

Confirmation will be scheduled for April or May of 2020. Confirmation Date and practice will be announced as soon as we receive it from the celebrant.
