Sid's Sing Along Special is a recent release of NCircle Entertainment. Here's what this DVD is about: Sid wonders what he could possibly do on his day off from school.  But when all of his friends come over for a play date, they quickly put their science minds together and decide to put on a show in the backyard!  They each take turns rocking out as they sing their favorite

We received this game back in December and I promptly wrapped it up and forgot all about the whole "oh yes, I need to review it" part of the deal. My bad. Franchi$it is a board game that some call a modern-day cross between Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit. I'm not sure about the Trivial Pursuit aspect, but it does have a Monopoly type of feel to it. Here's what Franchi$it has to say about itself

This past January, Big Idea Entertaiment repackaged three of their shows into one DVD. The Happy Together DVD combines stories on family, friendship and faith, all rolled into one big "happy together" package. Here's what's on the DVD: Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler takes you on a mysterious adventure with Sheerluck Holmes and his venerable sidekick Dr. Watson as they work together,

Okay, I'm going to gush just a little bit here, so bear with me. I don't gush that often, so take notice. Just Jen has a good thing going on. Just Jen is a t-shirt shop, but a t-shirt shop with pizazz. By pizazz, I mean they do rhinestone t-shirts. I'm not normally into rhinestones on my clothes, but they have options there that would suit just about any style. Check out these cute "Going to Be

Family Matters was a sponsor at the Relevant Conference I attended last October. While there, they gave me a copy of their new Kids Flag Page activity kit: This is billed as the "operating manual that should have come with each of your kids...but didn't." They also say this is a "fun way for moms and dads to interact with their kids and truly discover the heart of each child - who God created

Okay, my gentlemen readers my want to skip this one, but for the mamas of tween girls out there, you may be interested in this. It's the Dot Girl First Period Kit. This is normally the kind of thing I don't really talk about much on my blog because some things are private and should stay so. But I really like this idea of having a preparatory kit to give a girl before she has her first period.

My girls loves them some Polly Pockets to be sure! We have a plethora of Polly Pockets already, but we didn't have any of her stuff. Thanks to Mattel, now we do. In December we were sent this Polly Pocket Pollyworld House Playset and Polly Pocket Cutant Doll and Pet Assortment to review. It was instantly whisked away to be combined with our other Polly Pockets and my younger two girls have

Amazingly, it doesn't take much to convince my kids to give. They are very free with their money and I have learned a lot from them in this department. I love the philosophy of the Blessing Bank site: Handmade keepsakes that teach children "it is more blessed to give than to receive." Based on Jesus' words in Acts 20:35, Blessing Banks are more than a gift; they are a lifelong

I'm not going to lie. I fell in love with Build-A-Bear Workshop last summer during the blogger conference they invited me to here in St. Louis. It was a really awesome experience. Whenever I get an email asking me if I want to do another review and giveaway with them, I always jump at the chance. So here I am, jumping at the chance again. This time they want you to know about their Valentine's

Say it with me: It's a pillow...AND a pet! *giggle* You've seen these all over the place, but have you seen the Valentine's themed versions of the Pillow Pets? Just in time for V-Day, they have: Luv Pup and Luv Kitty: And here's proof about how cuddly and lovable these critters really are (and how cuddly and lovable the other critter in this photo really is too...): She loves it. The kids' CDs of Andrew Peterson and Randall Goodgame are all on sale through the end of January. You can get Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies for only $10. That price includes shipping AND a digital download. It also applies to a Slugs & Bugs Christmas CD. Sweet! You can also just get the digital download for only $8, but for the extra $2, why not go for the actual CD? I love liner notes...

We don't do friend birthday parties for all of our kids every year - too much expense and really, too much of everything when you do that. But for my oldest, who turned 12 on December 29, she hadn't had a friend birthday party since she turned 8, so it was time. But unfortunately for her, most people are not available on December 29, so we waited until January 17 to actually have the party. When

Now *this* is what I call a huggable teddy bear. Seriously. I'm of the opinion that stuffed animals are a dime a dozen and I don't really choose to buy many (any) for my kids, but don't mind if they keep ones they are given. But I've been around the teddy bear block long enough to know that not all bears are created equal. There are definite quality differences in the way various bears are made.

Izzy's Popstar Plan by Alex Marestaing is the first in a series of "devotional novels" being developed and targeted to tween girls. The book is presented in sort of bloggish form, set up like a devotional, but read like a novel. It is being billed as a "cutting edge new product which will meet girls where they are, and girls will love following Izzy on her incredible adventure. Plus, they'll get

Tommy Nelson is kicking off 2011 with another storybook Bible option for you. This one is the Precious Moments Storybook Bible by Sam Butcher. I used to be a Precious Moments junkie. I collected all the figures I could talk someone into giving me and distinctly remember buying one for myself the first summer I landed a job during high school. Confession: I still have a couple of these figures.

It's probably no big surprise that we didn't teach our kids to believe in the tooth fairy. Nope. But that doesn't mean we don't still have fun with them when they lose their teeth. Indeed, losing a tooth really is a rite of passage and our kids enjoy putting said tooth under their pillow in hopes that the "Tooth Fairy Mama" will come and reward them for pulling random things out of their mouths.

Are you familiar with the book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons? I've used it with two of my kids and really think it's a great resource. The authors of this book have also created a computer program, Funnix, based on the book. This program usually runs about $250, but for the month of January it's absolutely FREE. Even if you aren't sure it's the right fit for your child, for the

Okay, here's the deal with this one: we have a natural pest killer right now and that is our 5 degree weather and heap of snow outside. We haven't had any pests to deal with in a few months, but it's Missouri and spring is on the way. The bugs...lo, they will return. And when they do, I'm looking forward to trying out some of our new organic insecticides to see how they work against the things
