Lay theologian Courtney Cowart will be visiting St Matthew’s this coming weekend to participate in services commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  Courtney is an old friend of St Matthew’s who worked with a group from here who went to New Orleans to help with the clean up after Hurricane Katrina.  

She will be preaching twice on Sunday, 11th September - in the Morning Service on Radio 4 at 8am, live from the Grosvenor Chapel, and in Westminster Abbey at 6.30pm.  Do come along if you can.

This year our celebration will be particularly special.  The preacher at the Solemn Mass at 7pm will be the Dean of St Paul’s, Bishop Graeme Knowles, and the principal celebrant will the Bishop-elect of Lincoln, Christopher Lowson who earlier that day will have been consecrated as Bishop in Westminster Abbey.  Fr Christopher is an Associate Priest of St Matthew’s, and his wife Susan is one of our churchwardens.  Do join us for this very special occasion.
