Penang Dec Holiday

I can log onto internet here all day long.. :) thanks to sy yuan's laptop.. big and sturdy nice to type and play.. Here the food is very nice!! Ham(the chinese seashell), oyster egg, kuay tiao, pork intestine porridge, penang laksa, chicken wing, chendol nice nice.. maybe tmr try out bak kut teh.. today went trishaw ride.. highlight for today also got peranakan museum, fort corningwall, and some other sights.. tmr will be penang hill and spice garden..

good company, great hotel, wow... this is y we work hard.. so that we can enjoy.. :D

just bathed hehe.. slowly play psp later till sleep.. holiday is good..

Today is a sunny day.. Quite different from the past few weeks..

Later I am going to get a new bag.. the old one has holes already.. quite bad.. one of my favourites.. it was bought off a sale from timerland and lasted me for bout 4 years already.. i think it has been with me countless of exams, interviews, journeys.. it is time to say goodbye to it..

Kahwing is back in singapore.. And before he start his teaching career, he'll hav some free time.. I tried to fix a gathering, but everybro is busy.. Alex, ben, yong jia, jacob.. all got activities.. But it is good we still got sms each other..

Caught up with joanne, weiling and sean during cheekeong's wedding.. Congrats cheekeong..

Work is still the same, nothing much.. This month end, going with a few section buddies to penang.. going to meet up with denise and james over there in penang.. gg by bus on christmas night.. not sure if the bus will celebrate the christmas countdown.. maybe i should bring some drinks on me.. This weekend, my compatriot, jane went bali, so i am left alone in the office to fend off arrows and spears long hours..

Well, as it is a precious sunny sunday, gg out now.. miss all my friends and my free time..

yes, i am getting fatter.. got tummy liao..went to the gym, din train the stomach, but it just gets bigger.. went to learn basic rules of mahjong at friend's place. not bad.. nice enviroment, good teacher.. but i lost 196dollars leh.. luckily fake fake one.. fire water powerful opposites,love hate life's norm,seize time every half have,once passed only marks remain. Been good months, starting easter.. Easter, vesak, labour day was fun.. Been to genting and good food all over.. Genting trip was after a hiatus of maybe 10 years.. It was an eye opener..

Collegues commented i grew horizontal.. Almost no one disagree..

My company had been especially good to me, and i'm giving it back in more ways.. Organised their nature activities on weekends..

Yes, still lazy to go exercise.. Had told collegues if they remember, pls bug me to go and also the ladies to help c wat food i take during lunch..

Watched a good year.. It was good.. It'd easily made a seat in my fav movie list..

Spiritually, not much improvements.. But this month it'll be different..

Got a new pair of sony's latest headphones.. It's pretty cool.. Sounds better than it's earlier series.. I got this new one cos the previous wire broke.. I am strong.. :) got 3 more batteries and a desktop charger.. Now no more low hp batt.. And i commited to use this my good trusty n82 for another few years..

Will be going bali next week, i am worried of the h1n1 virus as bali's main visitors are the americans.. Hope i dun bring back any viruses..

Now on the mrt to buffet.. One collegue is leaving us.. One less worker to share the work load.. But i wish them all the best..

It's a happy day.. spent a lazy morning sleeping in my bed.. Then in the afternoon, went out to meet jerry for a stock market update.. it's kinda cool to exchange information and level up each other.. something like in facebook apps, mafia wars, where we'll help each other out..

This week, i just got my trading account with Philips Securities, will be getting iOCBC and the UOB Kay Hian soon.. I just typical singaporean, kiasu.. so take up all the accounts i can get lor..

Going to the picturesque Bali =) it is a dream come true for me.. This trip will be on SQ and paid for by A*Star since i'll be helping them in a ASEAN COST subcomm meeting. So I will be given 3 nights free and 2 nights i pay myself.. I dun think i'll pay so expensive to Bali.. But it's free y not?

I will take lots of Balinese Java House architecture pictures.. Finally my camera can be put to it's task..

I am loving my job nowadays too cos my immediately supervisor is starting to treat me well.. I think he understood that it is 2-ways.. If u dun treat me well, I leave and If i do my work, then treat me well.. It's simple for me.. anyway, today later going to read newspaper and take a rest and read some books..

May 1st going Genting highland with Mini, Karen, Syl.. yupz all 3 gers.. suppose to balance out with TY but he cant go cos he took leave on vesak day already for prayers.. well.. i dun suppose there is much ladies shopping available in Genting, so it's great.. really looking forward to seeing them..

A terrible day.. The train was pretty packed, so a sweaty man pressed onto my side.. Wa lau!! I was shocked! I opened my eyes and gave back a stare.. Could hav just given him a punch.. No, i got self control, will not do this..

And also, today is the last day i'll hav a partner.. She is leaving.. But at least she is happy, cos my boss may not be as good and work load is huge.. So starting tomorro, i'll be alone.. Alone.. Dun like it..

I watched Red Cliff 2. It was a nice show.. the moral of the story is that smart poeple never die.. and i love rock music.. esp the one currently in my imeem box.. Sonatine by Suemitsu.. anyway, today suppose to go celebrate my frends' birthday, but in the end, both birthday ger and boy cant make it so cancel lor.. i gg swimming.. tata.. hope it does rain so soon..

I wan to complain about the height allowance in sbs buses and lrt.. Singaporeans r evolving taller and bigger, so buses and trains too.. The new buses and lrts hav height allowance of about 1.82 cm.. How do i know?

Cos i'm 1.79 and my hair always touches the doorframes.. It messes up my hair.. The double deck bus is even worse.. I got to drop my head.. 2nd storey of the bus was designed by the japanese? :p

Hope bus and train designer or purchaser reads this.. Hehe

My great uncle were taken and never came back.. They could be taken away during the "sook ching" operations.

I was Googling what buses goes to changi village when i chance upon that changi beach was a popular massacre ground for the jap.. I was taken aback.. Could this be true? I came upon a MINDEF article.. This is an excerpt:

"Chinese males were ordered to report at the "registration camps" around Singapore. At the camps, they were sorted according to their occupations. Among the "purged" were persons connected to the China Relief Fund (in aid of China’s war of resistance against Japan); those who worked for the British or were involved in the resistance of the Japanese army and even students. They were tied and taken on trucks to Changi beach, Punggol beach or to the docks of Tanjong Pagar and gunned down."

and

"Operation Sook Ching only marked the beginning of the Japanese Occupation, however it was definitely a far cry from the "Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere" the Japanese propaganda machine had advertised."

Operation Sook Ching took place in Feb 1942, in Singapore.

Yes, I am still going to Changi Beach tomorrow, but I will be reminded how fragile is human life and how deceptful humans can be..

I was waiting for my army mobilisation at home, but they never call me either days, so shd be dun hav already.. it's 2.30pm now.. spoilt my weekends waiting, cos i dun wan rush all the way back, then go camp..
