I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. We had a quiet weekend at home and tried to get some packing done. I can't wait to get our new house. It is coming quickly and I am no ware ready. I also go back to work on Thursday. I don't know how I feel about that. A little mixed. It is always hard to leave my baby's.

Today I wanted to share with you this project I created for my online class. It is a Birthday advent calendar. It is made with pockets to put a treat in for each day. Lilly is all about the counting and I can't wait for her to use it. I used the Celebrations DSP. I LOVE this paper! It just makes you smile. Happy Monday!

Today I wanted to share this folder I made for friends of ours that are getting married. My husband did their engagement photos. You can check out his website HERE. We were going to their engagement party and I wanted to give them their pictures in a special gift folder.

I made this using 2 - 12 x 12 sheets of card stock. Sorry I forgot to write down the dimensions. I then added an additional pocket to put the cd in. It turned out beautiful. I know this DSP is retired but it suited the occasion. I miss this paper since I have girls and I love all of the bling.

Today's card is a sad one. Not one we ever want to make. I made this for a friend who had the unthinkable happen to her. Her son unexpectedly passed away. I wasn't sure if I should post this card, but I wanted to acknowledge this young man's life. I really like the message. "You are in my thoughts you are in my heart" It explains how I feel as well as how My friend will always feel about her son.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Wendy as you go through incredibly difficult time.

I love to make 3D items. Today's is super simple but pretty. I used the flower daises #2 die to create the 3 flowers. The large flower has 9 layers, med - 6 layers and small has 3 layers. The background paper is from the Woodland Walk DSP. I finished it off with Very Vanilla 1/4" Ribbon and Vanilla brads from a Hodgepodge Hardware Kit. Hope you like it.

Purse and Cards

Today I would like to share this purse and cards I made. I have seen many of these around and I have been dieing to make one of my own. Here is my take on these cute purses. Did you notice the half circles on the bottom and the faux stitching? I did the stitching with the white gel pen. The gel pens are amazing!

Then I made a few cards to go in it. This is the first time I used my Owl Punch. Wow I love this cutie pie! I sure will be using it a lot more. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day everyone!

Sweet Friend

Today's project was created by my super sweet friend Leela. Leela is a friend from Utah that I meet at Convention 2 years ago. I don't ever want to miss convention because it would mean I wouldn't see Leela. She made a magnet board covered in DSP. Is is so fun! and a nice journal that I am going to use write memories of my stamping friends in. Thank you Leela!

I have made so many wonderful friends because of Stampin' UP! We truly are like a family. We look out for one and other in both our business and personal lives. Today I would like to share with you a planner I made for an organized swap at convention. I am happy with how it turned out. I made it using 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 This makes it super economical to make.

I used the super yummy Greenhouse Gala DSP. Don't you just love all of the new papers we have to play with? I am super excited as I get my $500 stamp order today. This is one of the many benifits I recieved for winning the Artisan Award. I have some more of these beautiful papers in there and I can't wait to make some new creations to share with you.

Now for todays project. This is by far my very FAVORITE thing I made. I was even so bold to ask Shelli if I could have it back. She chuckled and said “you wouldn’t be the first to ask for something back” I guess that means NO! Oh well, I guess I could recreate it but it just isn’t the same.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE creating 3D items. I really wanted to create what I thought was a unique 3D item. I’m sure something similar has been done at some point but I haven’t ever seen it.
Today’s 3D item is a perpetual calendar. I added a bunch of elements. Including using the chalkboard vinyl on a chipboard bird. I created a different look to each month of the calendar. Email me if you want to see each month. Did you notice the saying on the cork board? It says

Good, Better, Best,

And your better best.

This is a something my grade 3 teacher use to say. And it has always stuck with me. Thank you Mrs.Brown. I think this is a great saying to live by. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Here is the last of my scrapbook pages. I knew that I wanted to add chip board to one of my scrapbook pages as I love chipboard. I just wasn’t sure how I was going to do it. So I stared putting this page together and playing around with different layouts when I pulled out the On Board Blooms. I instantly knew that I wanted one of the circles to frame the picture of Lilly. I dressed it up by applying cardstock, brads, ribbon and a bit of journaling. I am thrilled with the final result.

I have learned that there are absolutely no limitations to what can be added to your scrapbook pages. I have also learned that I enjoy scrapbooking. Who knew? I may have to set some goals to get more pages completed.

Ok so I would just like to brag for a moment. This page is of my daughter Lilly. Isn’t she just about the cutest little thing you have ever seen? I absolutely love this picture. She knows just how to give you that look that you just can’t help but smile. I know I am in for trouble!!!

I love how this page just sparkles. The paper has glitter as well I used the Sticky Cuts for the letters with Dazzling Diamonds. I sewed the ribbon on gathering it to make a ruffle. This is a girly girl page even though she is my tomboy.

2010 Artisan Award Winner Blog Hop Project #6

Happy Monday everyone! You have arrived from Elizabeth Prices’s Blog.

Today I would like to share with you my hybrid scrap book page that I made of my darling niece. A hybrid scrapbook page is were you take a digitally printed scrapbook page and add traditional paper elements. I think I was the only artisan with a hybrid page. This is the only hybrid page I have made. To be honest I haven’t done much scrapbooking at all. Once I started I loved it and I am looking forward to creating some for myself.

To make this page I used 3 of the same printed pictures that I created with my digital studio. The first is my background. The Second I cut along the Rose Red boarder and popped it up with dimensionals, you will also notice that I cut two slits to put my ribbon threw and tie a bow. The third I cut out the picture and popped it up as well as on her hat there is a butterfly that I trimmed around and popped up the edges. Once that was done I added the 9 layer flowers and the swirley die to create the extra wow! I hope you like it.

This card was tough for me. This was the very last project I made and by the time I made it to this I was sure I was out of ideas. To my surprise I had a few ideas ratiling around up there and in the end I loved it. It is hard to see but the base of this card is made with window sheets. Here is my first card. I love the little details on this card like the braded ribbon and the stitching around the outer layer. I decided that I wanted to do something a little different with the ribbon. I was twisting it and trying all kinds of things. Then all of a sudden it hit me. “What about braiding it?” It was so simple but I love the look. Trust me if you saw the original sketch I made for this card you wouldn’t even recognize it.

WOW! Fancy Fold Card

Here is a the WOW! Fancy Fold Card ( or panorama card. Thank you to the group that suggested that, it dose sound better than my name) I created for the Late Night Stampers event that I presented at on Saturday night. I had so much fun and meet some fabulous ladies.

Now for the 2nd day of convention (Thursday). We enjoyed a wonderful day of presentations and we got to see our very own Heather Summers up on the stage. She did a fabulous job as always!

Thursday evening was awards night. We again got to see Heather up on stage as she was awarded the #1 Demonstrator in sales for Canada
as well as #2 Demonstrator of the year!!! Way to go Heather. Your Simply Stars are so proud of you. You deserve every bit of recognition.

I was also fortunate enough to walk across stage to receive my Artisan Award along with my friend Jodie Olver and the other 8 winners. We have all been getting to know
each other and we have a wonderful group this year. All of the ladies received a beautiful Bracelet and Richard received a very nice watch. I am so pleased to see a man win this award. I also want to recongnize my friend Anne Granger as she also walked across stage for earning Cruse this year. Way to go Anne!
