I'm about 30 minutes late getting this posted. I just returned from a business trip to Albuquerque and decided I didn't like what I had already made for this Hop. Oh silly me.....I had to go in my stamp room and try and find something I could recycle. Last Christmas both Michael and I received Ipod Nanos and this is one of the boxes that they came in. I lined the box with the new Sweet Pea paper and used the Charming Stamp set to create the image. The green ribbon is from the new mini catalog. I hope you like it! Bashful Flower

I made this card this morning before I came to work. The card stock is SU's Kraft, Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke and Whisper White. I colored the stamp with SU markers, Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. The edges of the white are sponged with Always Artichoke and I drew the design on the edges with Always Artichoke. The ribbon is SU's Bashful Blue satin ribbon and the pearls are from the Pretties Kit. To give the card dimension I popped up the sentiment. The blue is punched with one of the new SU punches from the Occasions mini. I sure hope you like it! Please leave your comments and have a blessed weekend!

X Games

My boys and I went to the X Games last night and froze our patooties off. I'm not really sure if that's a word, but I'm sure you catch my drift. This was one of the snowmobile riders doing some absolutely crazy trick. I'm pleased with the picture, as I couldn't see in the back of the camera because of the sun glare and just started clicking away. It took 4 or 5 shots to get a good one. The second picture is of the boys and me waiting for the bus to come back down the hill (about an hour and a half wait in 20 degree weather). Michael, my younger son, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My older son, John, has decided that next year he's going to stay home, order pizza, drink hot chocolate and watch it all on television. Have a great day!

Card Stash Workshop

These are two of the five cards we are going to make this coming Thursday in my Card Stash Workshop. We will be making 5 cards total. I'm really excited as I have 5 people signed up, with another 5 tentative. Yippee!

The first card was made with SU punches, SU Razzleberry Lemonade Paper, Rich Razzleberry paper and ribbon. I looovveee the new Two Step Bird Punch! The possibilities with this punch are endless. Oh my, it just dawned on me, there isn't any stamping on this card. Oh yeah, that's so that you can stamp your own sentiment on the inside :)

The second card used SU's Bella Bleu DP, Not Quite navy, and the new satin ribbon. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set "Whimsical Words".

Valentine Card

I'd love to tell you that this card turned out exactly like I planned....but, that wouldn't quite be the truth. The little hearts are covering up where my punching skills were not at their best. I started with a Real Red base card and added a Very Vanilla layer that I roughed up the edges. The next layer is SU's Sending Love Specialty DP. I punched the next layer with the scallop trim corner and border and had two corners that were far from perfect, hence the little hearts which were punched with the new tiny heart punch. The next layer is pretty in pink and is topped with the image layer made of very vanilla, stamped in Real Red and sponged with Pretty in Pink. The stamp set I used was SU's Wandering Words. I added dazzling diamonds and a few pearls to finish the card. Thank you for looking - hope you enjoy! Have a blessed week!

Masculine Friendship

I taught my Friendship Workshop tonight and had one lady ask if she could make her set in purple. Of course, no problem since she asked me a few days ago. About 30 minutes before class I decided that I needed to make a few more samples using the Vintage Vogue stamps to illustrate how versatile this set could be. I created the above masculine card using Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip papers. I used Basic Brown ink to create the background paper and also stamped the main image with it. I sponged around the Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink so that it wouldn't appear to stark. The brads and the buckle are from the old hodgepodge hardware. The middle color ribbon is the soft suede polka dot ribbon turned over. The card below I made about 5 minutes before my ladies showed up. It's a case of one I saw on one of the very talented LNS stamper's blogs a couple of nights ago. I'm not sure how close it is to hers...when you get to be my age the memory is a little questionable. I don't remember who and I apologize for not writing it down to share with you. This second card used the SU Beautiful Wings Embosslits die from the new mini. Non-Traditional Valentine Card

I'm not sure which "group" established the challenge to make a Valentine's card using non-traiditonal colors (no pink or red). This is my contribution to that challenge. The stamp sets I used were Fifth Avenue Floral from the main catalog and Well Scripted from the mini. The designer paper is Bella Bleu and the other papers used were Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. I used the new scallop trim border punch from the SAB catalog to make the piece of paper behind the Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon. I didn't have a brad that was quite the right shade of green so I dipped an old olive brad in Versamark and used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to alter the brad. I outlined over the stamped image with my glue pen and applied Dazzling Diamonds. Hope you like the card and I welcome your comments. Have a great day!

Two New Clubs Forming & Filling Fast

6 for 6 Club

I have two new stamp clubs starting in January. The first one is the 6 for 6 Club. This club is a 6 month commitment at $25.00 per month. You will make 5 cards and each month the hostess will receive the hostess benefits based on a minimum of $150 order. In addition if you pay for three months at a time, you will receive an additional $25.00 Stampin’ Up gift certificate during your sixth month. If you would like to join as an online member, there is an additional $3.00 charge to cover shipping and handling.

As an online member I need to have your orders in by the 17th of the month so that the hostess can place her order. The hostesses will be selected in the order they sign up for the club. You will receive a project sheet for each of the cards and all of the supplies precut and pre-scored to make your cards. The club will meet at my house on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 7:00 until 8:30.

10 for 10 Club

The 10 for 10 club is forming and is a 10 month commitment for $15.00 per person. This club will make three cards every month with all supplies and project sheet provided.

If you pay for five months at a time you will receive an additional $25.00 Stampin’ Up gift certificate during your 10th month. If you are an online member, please add $3.00 shipping and handling. In addition, you will need to have your orders in by the 20th of the month so the hostess can place her order.

This club meets at my house the fourth Thursday of the month from 7:00 til 8:00. This is a great time to get together with friends. There will be additional drawings for things at the club meetings. Thses drawings will include the names of my online members. Please sign up early as my clubs are filling up fast.

Friendship Workshop - January 13, 2010

RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Day 3

I apologize for posting my Day 3 early, but I'm teaching an advanced Salsa and Rumba class this afternoon, followed by a dinner/dance at my house. I'm never sure what time people are going to leave, so I thought I'd get this done now. This card uses the SU Sending Love Specialty DP from the new Mini, along with Very Vanilla, Real Red and Regal Rose. I used the Pinking Hearts Corner punch from the new mini to make the shape behind the label and the Pinking Hearts Border punch for the strip at the bottom. These are both from the new Mini Catalog. I added dazzling diamonds, brads and ribbon from SU. The stamp set is SU's Holiday Best. Since my other two days had something altered, I felt the need to make something else for today. Not having much time, I covered York patties with Regal Rose, Real Red and Very Vanilla and stamped the image with the new SU Well Scripted Set from the new mini. I put four of them in a pretzel bag and tied the top with ribbon scraps. RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Day 2

Okay you all...this is a struggle! I posted a set of things for Day 1 and feel compelled to post something similar for Day 2. I struggled with this but as you can see, I ended up altering a notebook, making a post-it note matchbook cover and a large paperclip. I used the Shades of Spring Designer Paper from the new Mini, Barely Banana, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive and Very Vanilla papers. In addition, I added SU rhinestone brads and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. All of the punches are from the SU catalog. The sentiment on the matchbook is from one of my all time favorite sets - Define Your Life. Hope you enjoy! Welcome to the RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour! Thank you for taking the time to visit me. This was a quick little set to put together. For all three pieces I used Stampin Up's Vintage Vogue set from the new mini catalog. The Specialty paper is also from this same mini catalog and is titled Sending Love Specialty DP. The remaining papers used were SU's Very Vanilla, and Pretty in Pink. The ink was Pretty in Pink with a touch of Regal Rose. The brads and Dazzling Diamonds are also from SU. The little matchbox holds four chocolate nuggets and was cut using SU's Matchbox Die. I wish you all the joy of this season and may all your dreams come true in the new year. Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish all of you a belated Merry Christmas. As a department store general manager, my life has been a little hectic for the last month. I've had two days off in the last 31, but.... I'm taking four days off this week and have all kinds of stamping and scrapping plans. This is the Christmas Tree that was in our den. I had six trees up in my house and will try and post some more of them before I have to take them down. My dream is to have a bed and breakfast with all of the rooms decorated for Christmas so I'd never have to take it down. Talk with you later. Don't forget to check back soon. I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Well....so much for dreaming. This was at 8:00 last night. This morning we had another 12 inches (20 on the ground.) We shoveled three times yesterday and again this morning so that I could get to work. This also proved to be interesting as I had to be towed in the parking lot of the mall. We are one of three stores that are open. The kids have a snow day from school and are loving it. I'm hoping to get some more of my Christmas projects up by tomorrow. Have a great, warm day!

4th Day Remarkable Stampers Holiday Blog Tour

2nd Day - Holiday Blog Tour

Welcome back to day 2 of the Remarkable Holiday Blog Tour. I hope you enjoyed looking at all of the great creations yesterday and know that you'll be excited about the second day's "stuff". I've always wanted to try and make one of these and finally got up the nerve. I was home sick with a really bad cold and had lots of time on my hands, so I'd do a few steps, take a nap, a few more steps, take a nap.... I'm pleased with how it turned out. I had seen this made with numerous different papers, but never as a Christmas stationary box. I made this entirely with the SU Simply Scrappin Christmas Jingle and the SU Dasher Stamp. This is what it looks like open:

I took this to work with me and showed it to one person and ended up with three orders. I told them I had to finish the blog tour before I could make any more of these.

Peace on Earth Gift Bag

Welcome to the Remarkable Holiday Blog Tour. This is a gift bag that I made using an ordinary white lunch bag from the grocery store. The base of the panels is Stampin Up Kraft. I mounted the SU patterned paper on White for the cover and stamped the tree from Snow Swirled with Versamark. The sentiment is from SU's Four the Holidays and is also stamped with Versamark. They were both embossed with SU Silver Detail EP. The ribbon is SU's Whisper White 5/8" organza. I punched the holes at the top with an SU punch and added pearls for little more glamour. Halloween Treat

I saw a treat similar to this on one of the blogs, so sorry I don't know who to give credit to. This is the first time I've ever used my Big Shot from Stampin' Up. I glued the stripes down on a piece of white paper and cut out the Top Note die. I embossed the sentiment with some old purple embossing powder from my stash and added some black and white check ribbon from SU. My 10 year old thought these were great and really enjoyed handing them out in class. It's been a while since I posted, we had a very important store visit with the bigwigs of the Company. In addition, I had to fly to Albuequerque for a management meeting. Thank you for patience and for leaving comments!

Merry Moments and Challenge 249

This is another card for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast this week. I stamped the image in SU Basic Brown using SU's Wandering Words from the new Mini Catalog. I sponged the edges with real red, but still wasn't happy with it. I distressed the edges and in the process one of the corners of the image bent. This presented another challenge - restamp or make do. I decided to make do and bent and fussed with it until the entire image appeared distressed. The image was mounted on Going Green and Real red. The designer paper is SU's Merry Moments and the ribbon is from last year at SU. It's very unusual for me to make a card without sparkle, so I added the three brads in the bottom right corner. Dual Challenge Country Snow Card

It's been a very long time since I've entered any of the challenges at Splitcoast, and decided I'd better jump back in. The challenges were sketch challenge SC249 and the color challenge CC239 using Mellow Moss, Kraft and White. I used SU's Punch Pals stamp set and stamped the images in Versamark, then embossed them with white EP. The white strip has coarse crystal glitter that I had in my stash. I wanted something that wasn't too sparkly for the gingham ribbon. We have the possibility of snow coming our way either today or tomorrow, hence the card. Simply Swirly Christmas

Here's the second of the truly "simple" cards from this evening. I used SU's Snow Swirled stamp set. I really wanted this set last year when it came out, but wasn't able to get it. I was thrilled that it was in this year's catalog and ordered it right away. I embossed the tree and sentiment on Shimmery White paper with SU's gold embossing powder and mounted both of them on SU's gold paper. The white and gold organza ribbon are from SU. However, I regressed and used gold backless dots and flat rhinestones from my stash instead of using "all" SU stuff. For the purists out there, I apologize, but I couldn't help myself. Fall Pheasant

Well, I think I'm still the Queen of "Simple". I made two more cards this evening, both of which are quick and easy. This card uses the Stampin Up set titled Autumn Days. I've had it for a while and purchased it because I liked the pheasant. I tried two or three times to make a card using him, but they never turned out the way I wanted. I like this one better than all my other attempts. The paper used was SU's Autumn Meadows DP, More Mustard, and Really Rust. I stamped the pheasant in Basic Brown and used gold brads and ribbon from SU. Thank you for your comments and I hope you're enjoying this incredibly beautiful Fall season.

Super Simple Merry Christmas Card

Here's a "super, simple, Merry Christmas card." Say that five times really fast without stopping. Just kidding. Sometimes I think that simplicity may be the answer. For this card I stamped the image from SU's Holiday Best set on Very Vanilla with Versamark and embossed it in gold. This was mounted on Really Red and then again on Very Vanilla. In order for it to "pop" off the SU Merry Moments DP, I edged the bottom layer of Very Vanilla with a Gold Paint Pen that I found in with my other "stuff".
