This Delicate Dreams thank you card is not what you expected.

When most people hear “Delicate Dreams” they picture soft, pretty pastels. And that’s exactly why I went a completely different direction.

This Thank You card uses the Delicate Dreams suite from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog — but instead of reaching for the soft florals, I built around Craft, Secret Sea, and a single pop of Hydrangea Blue. The result surprised even me. And then I made a second version using the floral side of the Designer Series Paper, just to see what would happen.

Spoiler: I couldn’t pick a favorite either. Keep reading to see both — and tell me which one you’d actually send.

The Craft + Secret Sea Version

This is the one that started it all. The burlap-texture side of the Delicate Dreams DSP pairs beautifully with Crumb Cake and Secret Sea. The botanical cluster is built from Delicate Whispers dies — Mossy Meadow Leaf Spray, two Crumb Cake Spikes, and a stamped and colored flower using Hydrangea Blue Stampin’ Blends.

The Gray Granite ribbon pulls the whole thing together without competing with the color palette. Twelve inches, tied into a simple bow at the base of the cluster.

The Floral DSP Version

After finishing the first card I flipped the DSP over — and the floral side completely changed the personality of the design. Same card base, same layers, same botanical cluster. Just a different face on the Designer Series Paper.

This version feels a little softer and more romantic, while the Craft version feels more earthy and unexpected. Both use identical construction — which means once you make one, the second takes about ten minutes.

Tips for Making This Card

• Stamp the leaf spray image lightly with Crumb Cake ink for a soft, tone-on-tone effect against the white panel
• Cut two Spikes dies and layer them at slightly different angles for a more natural botanical look
• Apply Stampin’ Blends dark marker first, then layer the light marker while the light is still wet — this blends the color seamlessly without hard edges
• The flower die cut is easier to handle if you let the Blends dry completely before running it through the die cut machine
• Use Stampin’ Dimensionals under every element of the botanical cluster for maximum dimension — flat elements on this design lose the layered effect entirely

How This Floral Card Idea Comes Together

This card is built in layers — and once you understand the structure you can recreate it with any floral suite. Here’s the four step approach:

1. Build your layered background

The embossed Basic White layer sits below a strip of Velvet Meadow Designer Series Paper — that flocked texture is stunning and does most of the visual work before a single stamp is inked. Running a strip of Peaceful Pine card stock behind the DSP creates that bold horizontal line that anchors the whole design.

2. Stamp your flowers using 2 inks and a dauber

This is the technique that makes people stop and ask how you did it. Stamp the flower image in Bubble Bath ink first — the lighter color. Then take a sponge dauber with Berry Burst ink and dab just the tips and edges of the petals before stamping again. You end up with this beautiful two-tone bloom that looks like it was professionally printed. No coloring skills needed.

3. Assemble your scalloped focal point

The Scalloped Blooms dies nest beautifully — a solid Peaceful Pine scallop behind a white stitched scallop gives you that layered frame effect. Pop your stamped and die cut flowers on dimensionals so they lift off the card and catch the light.

4. Finish with your bow and dreamy flowers

The Barely Blush ribbon bow is tied using two bunny ears — loops not a traditional bow — which keeps it flat enough to mail. The Dreamy Flowers embellishments are placed in a triangle arrangement for natural balance. That’s the finishing touch that takes this from pretty to polished.

My Best Tip for Two Ink Stamping

Breathe on your stamp before you press it down.

It sounds strange but a little huff — like you’re cleaning your glasses — remoistens the ink and gives you a fuller, more solid image. It’s one of those small moves that makes a big difference in your stamped results. Try it once and you’ll do it every time.

🍖 3 Father’s Day Card Ideas We Made Together

### Card 1 — You’re Flippin’ Awesome Shish Kebab

This one has the best greeting in the whole bundle — you’re flippin’ awesome. The shrimp and mushroom skewer is assembled from die cuts with mini dimensionals, and the silver luster paper gives the skewer that realistic metallic look. The smoke element adds just the right finishing touch. This card works for anyone — Father’s Day, birthdays, or just because.

### Card 2 — Happy Father’s Day Hamburger

The second of our Father’s day card ideas is this Happy Father’s Day hamburger card. Layer by layer this burger comes to life — meat, lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, pickle, and a bun that holds it all together. The heat embossed white sentiment banner across the dark card stock is bold and graphic. The gold and white ribbon knot adds just a touch of color without softening the masculine feel. Perfect for the dad who takes his grilling very seriously.

The third Father’s day card idea features the Happy Birthday to the Grill Master.
