Tropical Chic Happy Birthday!

Here is a birthday card that I have made with the Tropical Chic Bundle!

The card base is Blushing Bride Cardstock. I then added a layer of Granny Apple Green Cardstock. I then added a layer of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper. I wrapped the Blushing Bride Ribbon around the Granny Apple Green and Tropical Escape Paper and made a bow!

I then cut a label from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies out of Blushing Bride Cardstock. I then stamped "Happy Birthday to You" in Blushing Bride and cut out an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I adhered the two of those together and put the Blushing Bride Label on Dimensionals onto the Tropical Escape DSP. I added a FABULOUS Petal Pink Rhinestone Gem!

I cut out Granny Apple Green palm branches from the Tropical Thinlits Dies. I cut out flowers from the white paper. I saved one of the negatives from the cutouts and put into my Stamparatus. I lined up the stamp with the negative and then stamped all the white flower cutouts with the Stamparatus. This was great as I have trouble keeping the die lined up around the stamped image when cutting out with the Big Shot. I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.

Onto the inside of the card! I stamped the words from Life is Grand Stamp Set in Blushing Bride Ink. This is one of my favorite stamp sets! I then added a two inch strip of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper onto the Whisper White. I layered that onto Granny Apple Green Cardstock and a Blushing Bride card base.

Christmas Card?

Christmas Time?

Do you need to start working on your Christmas Cards to have them ready to send out in December?

This is a Sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #37.

The card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Layered onto the card base is Gumball Green - a new In Color! This piece is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Then I have added Be Good Cheer DSP that is 5 1/4 x 4.

The scallop border punch is used on the long side of 5 1/4 x 2. The DSP is 5 1/4 x 1 1/2. I used the 2 1/2" punch and then stamped the ornament inked in Gumball Green and punched out 1 3/4"punch. I hand cut the middle and put it up on a dimensional with a Pearl.

I created this for my 4 for $10 class.

I used SCS Color Challenge 304 for my choice of colors. I would not have put Poppy Parade, Basic Gray, and Whisper White together on my own.

I also used the dryer sheet technique. It is amazing how it looks in real life.

The two items I have to show you are classes that I have done and will be doing again as the response was overwhelming.

If you cannot come to the class, I have class to go kits. With the class to go kits, you can get the stamp set for 20% off! The picture does not do justice for these cards. The flower is so elegant, especially when you add glitter. The cost for this class is $25.

This is the second class that has been a great response after customers saw the samples. This uses embossing powder that just makes the cut outs shimmer. This class is $25 as well.

My Stampin’ Up! Story

I was attending evening college and working full time during the day. I had a friend who held a Stampin’ Up! workshop. I went and ordered a stamp set, ink pad, and paper. When I received it, the excitement of the workshop wore off and I did not have a sample to work from. The stuff stayed in the bag. Fast forward five years later, keeping in your mind that the stuff is still in the bag. I had changed jobs and one of my coworkers came in all excited about this workshop she went to. She showed me her cards and that is all she wrote. We actually found a group locally and started stamping. We both joined a club that you spent so much a month and one month you were the hostess. I LOVED to make cards and scrapbook. I was involved in that club for 3 years. Well my demonstrator ran into some personal issues and there were not enough people to start the club again.

Most of us were all set for a while with all of our supplies. Well six months later, I needed some paper and re-inkers. I went back to my demonstrator and told her I was interested in signing up. I signed up under her and made my first couple of orders. I never read the manual and was not informed of some of the awesome possibilities in my first year of signing up. But that was okay because my main focus was to get the discount to cover my hobby. Soon I had enough stuff and the other ladies were not ordering much. SO I had to find new customers or end my commitment. The more I thought about that, I knew I needed to find additional friends. Because as every demonstrator knows, with a new customer is the beginning of a lifelong friendship.

This is for Gretchen Barron's Inspiration in Action Weekend Challenge. It can be found here. This is my first time trying her challenge and only my second try at a sketch. The picture is dark. I ended up having to use my other camera. My computer printer was not recognizing any files from my Nikon camera. Computers, what would we do without them=)

I used Berry Christmas stamp set (116509). I used the Bride Specialty Paper (115669), Rich Razzleberry Ink and Paper (115658 & 115316), Old Olive Ink and Paper (102277 & 100702), Earth Elements Brads (106955), Rich Razzleberry 1/2" Grosgrain Ribbon (115613), Eyelet Border Punch (113692), Stampin' Up! Merry Details (116823), Paper Piercing Tool (116631), Mat Pack (105826) and the Big Shot (113439). For adhesive, I used the snail adhesive (104332), mini glue dots (103683) and Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
