It is with much excitement that I announce that I'm retiring!

My husband and I want to travel more and so I've decided to retire. It was a hard decision to make as I have so enjoyed being a demonstrator but know that it would be hard to do while traveling as much as we've planned.

If you are looking for another demonstrator, I recommend my good friend, Catherine Pooler. Catherine and I have worked together for a number of years now and I know that you will love her style and love her as I do.

To learn more about Catherine and to get a free gift, please visit her at http://www.catherinepooler. com/friendsofbrenda/

My time as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has been fabulous and I've met so many wonderful people and count many of you as friends. I wish you much happiness in your future and may your stamping always be straight.

Thank you so much for choosing me as your demonstrator.

A couple of weeks ago, a friend came over to stamp. I'd been in a creative slump and decided that I would just watercolor one of the images from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set. Today I finally was inspired to finish the card.

It's difficult to see but the white brad in the middle of the Stitched Felt snowflake is covered with Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter and another layer of Crystal Effects. The result is a shiny, glittery center. (After I put the card all together, I realized that I could've used one of my Marina Mist Glimmer Brads...next time!)

I also used the 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to add some shimmer to the Christmas tree. Just a dab of glue here and and a sprinkle of Stampin' Glitter makes it look as if the tree has some freshly fallen snow on it.

How did I outline the Scallop Oval? I used the same technique and tutorial that is in this post.

Slowly and surely I'm making progress on my Christmas cards. Not much more will get done today though as I have a dinner date out on the town with my husband!

Have a great Saturday!

TGIF! It's been very busy week with little time to stamp, unfortunately. What have I been up to? I don't think I mentioned it but during the bathroom remodeling project, the installer chipped our brand-new cast iron tub.

To make matters worse, they are denying that they did it. And so, I've spent the week gathering evidence and today sent them a letter. Time will tell if it results in my tub being fixed.

I really wanted to create something this afternoon but was just too tired to really concentrate. I spent time browsing through the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and was awe-struck by this card.

Recognize it from the catalog? It's on page 35. Yes, I have seen it many times before but today was the first time that I really, really LOOKED at it! Here's what I saw:

Four different pieces of Designer Series Paper are shown.

The top piece is Wild Wasabi polka dots and the left side is Cherry Cobbler polka dots....both contain dots!

The bottom piece is vertical stripes in Cherry Cobbler and the right side is vertical lines of text in Wild Wasabi ....both contain lines.

The colors are split diagonally. The upper right "triangle" is Wild Wasabi and the lower left is Cherry Cobbler.

Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green are both part of the Regals Collection of Stampin' Up! colors. Wild Wasabi is part of the Subtles Collection AND it is also the Dynamic Duo of Garden Green...meaning it's a perfect monochromatic for Garden Green.

The sentiment is punched out with the Modern Label Punch but noticed the Basic Pearls Jewel Accents.

Overall, a very clever card! I love it and I gained a lot of inspiration by really, really LOOKING at it!

Brenda's Stamping Tips

Expand your options by looking at the Dynamic Duo when choosing colors for your project.

Rules are meant to be broken. Mix 2 different patterns (stripes and polka dots) if you like.

Have you started your Christmas cards yet? The clock is ticking!

Q: It seems as if my Craft Ink Pad is always needing to be reinked. Is my Craft Ink Pad defective?

A: I totally understand as my craft ink pads also need frequent reinking. Craft Ink is pigment-based ink and very thick. As you know, you need a very light touch to ink up your stamp. This is because it is so thick. Consequently, you will use more ink every time you stamp. If you own Stampin' Spots, you will use even more ink due to their small size.

So to answer your question, your ink pad is not defective. It simply is the nature of Craft Ink.

Do you have a question about stamping, cardmaking or paper crafting? Leave me a comment. Too shy to leave a comment? Send me an email! Either way, I'll answer your questions and help you become a better paper crafter!
