I noticed these two templates- one came with the Sun Garden Designer Series Paper and one came with the Messenger II Embellishments. I found two photos in my collection that hadn't been scrapbooked yet so I used those, added some journaling, and called it done! This is what My Digital Studio is all about- the freedom to spend just as much or as little time on a project as you can. When creativity is lacking, these templates are also good for that. :)<br /> <br /> This layout was an 8"x8" page, so I used <a href="http://stampingwitherica.blogspot.com/2012/02/mds-blog-hop-designer-templates.html">this method</a> to change it to a 12"x12". This photo was taken using Photobooth on my Mac one night when Esper was watching dogs jump in <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHlJODYBLKs&amp;feature=fvsr">this video</a>. I have plenty of birth pictures I still need to scrapbook for Esper's book. I wanted to document the first time she met her brother and sister. It was a special moment and a crazy one. The L's ran around the hospital room with their shirts over their heads. They paused to kiss baby's forehead or to ask if her poop looked like theirs. I remember feeling stressed that there was a lot of craziness in that day. I remember wishing that I could let them spend more time with their sister. But in the weeks and months to come, I was continually impressed with how gentle and sweet Lake and Libby were with their new baby sister. It was so simple to add the little owl tag- it was already designed for me (part of the Sweetest Ever Valentine's Designer Template) so all I did was resize the circle to about 2-1/2" and printed it on card stock. I was so excited and spent a lot of time during the holidays working on them, this book in particular. It took a long time to put together since it is 24 pages long, but I simplified the process by using templates that already came with the software. I simply changed colors and used different digital designer series paper. If I had to think up every layout from scratch it would have taken me so much longer. I converted all of my photos to black and white so that I could let the colors from this kit pop. They asked me to create three projects using the Simple Snapshots cd. They also interviewed me about My Digital Studio.<br /> <br /> A funny story- since I live close to the Stampin' Up! home office, a photographer came by to do a photo shoot of me and Esper. In the middle of Esper coloring in the journal while on my lap, she out of nowhere just threw up all over us. I was basically sitting in vomit, and the photographer and I burst out laughing hysterically. I really wanted to play this week, but I have been busy starting school and dealing with a grouchy (possibly teething) toddler.<br /> <br /> But I do want to share a project with you anyway. In December I was asked to design some samples for Stampin' Up! to have on display at their Leadership convention (going on now) in San Antonio. I was so excited to play with some new product! I created this layout using the same Twitterpated kit I featured earlier this week, using pictures from the same photo shoot. So I figured, I would try something new. My own version of Project Life! I will be (attempting) creating a layout for each week of the year. It will mostly include cell phone photos that don't usually end up on my other layouts. I'm being pretty flexible with it, not always going in Sunday-Friday order, and sometimes skipping a day if I don't have a picture for it. I want to be able to look back twenty years from now and remember what the day-to-day stuff of my life involved. I especially want to be able to tell Esper what it was like, transitioning into being a single mom. I want to be able to remember these special little moments I get to experience with her every day. <br /> <br /> I copied a template I saw on a digital scrapbooking site. It was so easy to make my own template in My Digital Studio that I can use each week. Or I may switch it up and move the placement of everything, but for now I like the ease and cohesiveness of having each page look similar. The fun part comes in changing up the color scheme and products used. Today I used the new Day in the Life kit, which is a great one to use if you are doing your own Project Life book.<br /> <br /> P.S. I didn't have time to design something new, so today I just thought I'd show you the printed version of the tri-fold Christmas card I designed a few weeks ago. I guess with this post comes some news. We will not be sending out this Christmas card this year. Jeff and I are no longer a family. I have been devastated some days and happy and at peace with it the others. This is definitely what is best for us, but it's hard to mourn the loss of something you thought you'd have forever. We are both growing and changing and learning more about ourselves from this experience. I am grateful for the things I've learned. And I'm glad I had this card printed because now I will put it in Esper's scrapbook.
