There are so many things about the new 2010 Holiday Mini that I love and this card features several of them! 

*  The Bells & Boughs stamp set – one that will take you back in time to Christmas’s past. 

*  The Glass Glitter – glitter that is so chunky and sparkly and looks like little pieces of cut up glass (love it!).  Comes in Champagne and Silver.  I used the Multipurpose liquid glue as the adhesive for the glitter.

*  The new 1/2" seam binding (ha! they thought we would just use it as seam binding? Surely you jest!) that works great as ribbon especially with the lovely colors painted throughout the designer series paper that are available through the mini. This comes in the Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla colors.

*  The new 2 1/2" Circle Punch (you have GOT to get this!) that is now big enough to punch out many images that are just this size!

*  And last (but not least) the beautiful designer series papers (this one called Deck the Halls has a wonderful, vintage feel to it).  

*  I colored it with a blender pen using Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake inks and aged it a bit (thought you may not be able to tell by the photo) with the tea stain from the distressing tool kit.

                                                                Now, back to the card!  I love the look of stamping and then embossing a card.  And these bright colors are so fresh and fun!  We’ll be saying good-bye to summer soon enough so I wanted to show another bright, summery card.  The Printed Petals stamp set is so versatile and the large flower is so big that you can punch another image out of the center with a smaller punch if you like. 

 I’ve used Pear Pizzazz again, one of my favorite new colors!  Pair that with Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue and you’ve got a beautiful card.

The Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper is SO beautiful!  It’s just one of the many beautiful prints available in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  We made this card at my stamp class last month and I love the brightness of it – it’s bound to lift the spirits of the person that will be receiving it!

Pear Pizzazz is another one of my favorites of the new In Colors this year.  And it’s going to be around for two years!  Woo Hoo!  That’s right, in case you haven’t heard, the five In Colors that were just released will be with us for two years.  Next year, five new In Colors will be introduced, and they will be active for two years.  So, we’ll always have 10 In Colors each year starting next year!

• Pear Pizzazz paper was embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions embossing folder.  
• The paper (ovals) behind the "Happy Birthday" is two large ovals punched out with the Extra-large Oval Punch.
• The "Happy Birthday" is from the Perfect Punches stamp set.
• I love the new 1/8" tafetta ribbon!  I’ve used the Pumpkin Pie tafetta ribbon here to add a little punch.  Love it.
• All of this is placed on top of a Whisper White base for the card.

I put my Neutrals Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack to good use this week by creating this Notepad holder and six note cards for a friend/co-worker.  Her last work day was yesterday (at my full-time job) and she is going to concentrate on building up her embroidery/silk screen business.  I decided to create this for her gift and thought the note cards might come in handy for her business.  Here name is Wanda too – funny, huh?  How many Wanda’s do you know…and then to have us work at the same place, right across from each other and in the same role? If somebody wanted to get our attention, they just stood behind us and said our name. <smile>.  I was inspired by Becky Roberts post HERE to make the Notepad holder.  Mine is slightly different; I decided not to add a pen holder, used different paper, etc.  But I wanted to use Black and Very Vanilla for a more business-like look.  I forgot to get a picture of the cards outside of the package and wasn’t about to tear it open to get the pic!  Oh, and I couldn’t possibly stop without mentioning the gorgeous Antique Brads AND the Crochet Trim in the new Idea Book & Catalog!  Just love them! 

 I finished the set up by making a card using the Neutrals Collection and DSP.  The paper I used is the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper, and I embellished it with the new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  I love this ribbon!  The final touch was done by adding three of the small flower buttons from the Neutrals Designer Buttons.  Yes, I should have dipped that stamp in the ink just a little more!  But by then it was almost 2:00 am and I was getting really sleepy…AND had to get up for work that morning! ;-/

A Merry Christmas!

My Holiday Mini pre-order was delivered and I just had to play with some of the new products!  (Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator has many perks and it is so cool to be able to order new products early!).  So I invited two friends to come over and stamp with me.  This card was definitely the result of a group effort!  Melissa (my upline) and Trisha (my downline) and I all played a little with the new fabric (YES, I said FABRIC!) and the waffle paper and one of the new stamp sets. 

The Designer Fabric we used is called Deck the Halls and it was cut using the larger of the two scallop circles from the Big Shot Sizzix die Scallop Circles #2.  It was so fun blending fabric and paper for this card, and you’re going to love the new waffle paper.  It’s scrunchy and moldable and as you can see here, we used the gold color for this card.  You’ll be seeing more of this soon!  The Merry Christmas stamp is from a new stamp set called Bells & Boughs – love it! 

I REALLY like so many of the new colors…and I haven’t been able to play with them all yet.  But today’s card features Cherry Cobbler(one of my favorites)…it just sounds like a lucious color, doesn’t it?

It’s graduation time and the new Summer mini catalog has a great new stamp set in it to help you create some new, fresh graduation cards! 

 I was so excited to see this new set because we have so many graduations to celebrate this spring….and two of them are our boys!  Our son, Noah, is graduating from college and our other son, Micah, is graduating from high school!  Time to c-e-l-e-b-r-a-t-e!  We’re so proud of both of them. 

A single stamp called "Happy Grad" was also used on the very front of this card (the "Happy Graduation….)" stamp.  I chose Basic Black, Whisper White and Stampin’ Up’s! Brushed Gold cardstock for this card.  Another new item used on this card is the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder…hopefully you can see the design in my pictures. 

Stampin’ Points: 

• The Lattice folder was used on the entire front of the Basic Black cardstock, so the design can be seen inside the card. 
• The inside of the card features a pocket, so a gift card or money can be tucked inside the piece that has "Congratulations Graduate" stamped on it. 
• This was made with a 5 1/2" X 11" piece of cardstock.  Score at 4 1/4" from one end and at 2 1/2" (for the pocket) from the other end. 
• I used the new lattice embossing folder to emboss the entire "top" of the card. 

Yes, I noticed that the stars aren’t quite aligned…..sigh…..but I really didn’t want to go back and take pictures again!

Blissful Bride is another great stamp set out of the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini that I just had to play with! 

I’ve paired it up here with both the Bride and the Groom Specialty Papers to create a beautiful wedding card…and yes, you CAN stamp on Designer Series Paper and the Specialty Papers!  The Sizzix Top Note Die creates a great focal point for this center fold card; see the other open views below for a better perspective.  I’m afraid you may not be able to tell by the photo, but the Groom Specialty Paper is used on the two front panels under the Top Note Die and it really does complement the Bride paper.
