For some reason it seems like it’s been forever since I’ve seen my fabulous Club Members!  I’m looking forward to tonight for sure!  Here is what the ladies will be making tonight:

They all feature new stuff!  The first is a card using a new Level One Hostess set and the Cottage Wall DSP to make a quilted Top Note.  The second uses all new In Color card stock to create a diorama card.  And the third uses the Cottage Wall DSP again as well as the For All You Do stamp set.  Hope you like!

Bling Anyone?

Recently a customer asked if I would help her with some Sponge Bob invitations for her grandchild’s birthday.  She specifically wanted it to be a pop up similar to this one found on Splitcoaststampers.  Well, the pop up part is easy (really, it is!  there’s even a tutorial on SCS for it!) but figuring out the right parts for Sponge Bob took a little time (but actually not as much as I thought it would!).  I looked at some images of Sponge Bob on Nick.com and decided his nose is more of an oval and they have it very defined, hence I decided to outline it with the Basic Black marker.  And also I noticed on the "real" Sponge Bob there are red dots on his cheeks with a half circle drawn more often than not, so I did that too.  Here’s what I came up with and I hope she likes it!  To make him look more spongey it could use a little dry embossing of some circles or perhaps some tone on tone stamping of circles on the Yo Yo Yellow card stock would do the trick.  But other than that I don’t think it’s too shabby! 

Now, I need to go get this invitation and an invitation all in pieces with dimensions for her to follow in an envelope before my kids see this and want one!  No Sponge Bob here!!  LOL

There are some AWESOME new ribbons in the new catalog.  I have been longing for polka dot ribbons forever and we now have SEVEN!!  WAHOO!  Shown below are 6 of them… all new In Colors!  To. Die. For.  You know you want ‘em ALL!  LOL

Show your kids how much fun stamping cards is!  In this class you and your child will create 6  birthday cards (2 each of 3 designs).  Your child can use these cards for his/her friends, relatives, etc. 

Here’s what the girls will be stamping tonight…

One is the card featured earlier on my blog here.  The second is a simple trifold card using the Wild About You set.  The third is a hinged card using the oh-so-beautiful Heartfelt Thanks set and Filigree brads.  The final card features the fun Doodle This stamp set an a button from the Button Bouquet assortment.

This card is serving multiple purposes!  One – to do a Mojo challenge that I haven’t done in forever!  Two – for the Stamp a Stack this week.  Three – for a little friend’s birthday this weekend!  I have to say this might be the first time in 6 years I bought a stamp set from the Retired List.  It’s been on my list forever and was just kind of waiting ’til I *needed* it for the something for the boys.  But since it’s retiring and there are no dinosaurs in the new catalog I knew I HAD to have it!  Why didn’t I get it sooner?  It was great fun and super easy to play with!
