After Party!

The After Party was great. My favourite thing about it was the fireworks, the fireworks were falling down like fiery rain. The video camera tells me that it lasted for over 15 minutes. Besides the fireworks, I didn't really like the Red Hot Flames, I have heard the songs too many times. And I didn't stay too long after that as I had school the next day. They shouldn't have done it on a Sunday. But overall it was a good end to the 2020.

Jamaica v Trinidad and Tobago- Final

Well, honestly I was extremely disppointed in the match. I mean it was a Final and Jamaica only made 91 runs in 17 overs, I found that silly. Trinidad and Tobago's fielding was great and very well coordinated and they batted really well and beat Trinidad in 9 overs. The game was over really early.

Guyana v Jamaica- Semi- Final

Guyana versus Jamaica was a great,great game. I found it was the most exciting game in the whole tournament. It was like the Final last year when the game came down to the last ball. Also, I found it great fun to cheer for Jamaica but now that I think about it I would have wanted Guyana to win because it would have been a Trinidad and Guyana final like last year and the pressure would have been on both teams as they would have been in the same situation as last year.

Barbados v Trinidad and Tobago- Semi-Final

This match was similar to the game between Antigua and Guyana last week. But Trinidad was defending a higher score than Guyana. While we were sitting in our space there was a boy and his mother who were fast asleep at the match and the noise was not enough to wake them up. Another thing, this was the match with the least amount of people watching especially for a semi final. But it was a good cricket game nonetheless but you would think that a cricket game as close as Antigua v Guyana, you would think there would have been much more screaming and shouting "Come on Barbados...beat them" but it was very quiet.

Antigua v Guyana

This was the best match so far. My Grandpa (who is from Guyana) came to visit from England and watch the cricket. So my Mum decided to support both teams, but we really wanted Antigua to win. And Antigua got so close. They had to make two sixes from the last two balls. They didn't bat well at the beginning and people started to leave but we stayed until the end and that was the best bit of the match. Oh and my Grandpa brought me a tripod which makes it so much easier to video. I still need a bit of practice though.

At The Bowlers Club!

The bowlers club!!!!!!!!! It's where Allen Stanford and his children sit and has the best view . Inside there were many legends and there was a flat screen tv, it was great. I recommend that every one sit there if you can get an invitation. Thank you Mr.Stanford for inviting me. I got some great pictures.

Antigua v USVI

It has been more than a week since the last match we went to see, but I have had exams, so sorry that I didn't update you before. The match between Antigua and USVI was OK. Antigua didn't play that great but still beat USVI. But I had lots of fun with my friend Tristan who came with me and my Grandma and Aunts.

Since then I haven't watched much cricket,with exams. And I had been looking forward to the Jamaica v Nevis match. You will never believe where I got invited to!!!

Barbados v Dominica

...or Heidi said it was Krosfyah v WCK! Mum took me to the match even though it was a school day just in case Dominica beat Barbados, we would have to see that. I really thought it might happen as Dominica fielded really well and Barbados did not make a lot of runs. We know a lot of Dominicans so we had to suport them and they were so happy. And then Dominica came in to bat and we even thought they might get the lowest score. The game reminded me a lot of the England v Sri Lanka game in the World Cup. It was really exciting. We tried to take video of the game (yes, we need a tripod). This is my Mum's try,

Trinidad v St. Lucia

Well we camped out during the rain to get a good view of the match. I thought it would have been a bit closer and that St. Lucia would have put up more of a fight as they played well against the Cayman Islands last Saturday. Trinidad won easily. My favourite game so far was on Wednesday when the USVI beat St. Kitts that was fun although I had to watch on TV- school next day. What has been your favourite so far?

I know, its been a week already but I have been enjoying the games so much I couldn't stop to talk. The fireworks last week were great but I got covered in soot we were that close. Before we went, I thought I would talk to someone who would know a bit about cricket just to see what he thought of 20/20 cricket.

We play every Thursday afternoon. That's me bowling. And me fielding at silly mid on (I don't know- I just like saying that)

Last year some of the players from the kiddies cricket from Scotiabank played during the Cricket World Cup when the West Indies finished their 50 overs before New Zealand came on. As you can guess, New Zealand won! But maybe, our school team might be invited to play during one of the 20/20 matches. Hint, hint- is anybody listening?

They are putting in practice pitches near the playing field for all the teams to practice when they come to Antigua. I hope that they will let me have a go when it is ready!

All the matches were really good, both in the early part of the tournament and leading up to the finals- so you better plan to spend six weeks!

Its getting closer!

I am really excited about Stanford 20/20 Cricket. We had a great time last year and can't wait for January. They have a few new teams due to partcipate this year also. Well, I can see all the work ongoing on the ground and its surrounds and it looks great. See this picture of my friends and I at the Cricket World Cup earlier this year. I have grown to really like cricket having had so much fun at Stanford 2020 and the Cricket World Cup, I have even taken cricket up at school. I am watching all the news leading up to January and will keep you updated.
