Hello dear readers. We’ve received some positive feedback about the previous tip and today we’re posting the next piece of advice for novice photographers.

Tip 2:

Use a plain background

a. An uncluttered background focuses attention on the subject, bringing the best out of your subject and creating a stronger picture.

b. Place the baby against a plain, non-distracting background such as a wall or pattern-less blankets

c. Sometimes just moving yourself (and the camera) a few feet one way or the other can eliminate distractions from view by keeping them out of the frame

Tip 1:

Get down to their level !!!

a. Position your camera at the baby’s eye level to capture the essence of those magnetic gazes and mesmerizing smiles.

b. To get the best photos you may have to lie down on the floor to take the picture but it’s worth it.

c. Your models don’t have to look directly into the camera; the eye level angle by itself will create a personal and inviting feeling

This has been a busy month for us. We’ve done several maternity and newborn photo sessions as well as once Central Park family session. We’ve been friends with parents of this little princess for a while and when they called to ask us have their pictures taken we couldn’t be happier.

What’s a better way to spend a weekend then photographing one of my families. I was very fortunate to be hired to document Gregory’s first week in this beautiful world and almost a year later we’re back again for more of these once-in-a-lifetime portraits. I always enjoy spending time with Eddy and Shella and hope that these photographs will remind them of many joyful moments.

Where’s Waldo?

If you’ve been on the market for a professional photographer lately you probably came across a couple of shoot-N-burn guys as well as some photoshopographers.

Those of you that have booked me know where I stand on the subject and even thought I believe that a great photograph starts with the right basics (light, composition, lines of sight, patters, poses, etc) it’s also important to bring out the best in each person – that’s where photo enhancement comes in.

I shoot in RAW format and each photograph I bring back to the studio goes through post-processing. In addition, all printed photographs are digitally enhanced to take full advantage of printed media.

Twins Newborn Photography

I was recently hired to photograph an fun little family in Brooklyn (maybe not so little after all). This wasn’t my first photo session with twins or even 3 kids but this one was unique because the twins really gave us an opportunity to capture their individualities. The whole session lasted 4 hours and we captured over 500 images and here are a couple of my faves

I always tell my clients that the best thank you is a referral to a friend. It just so happens that another great thank you is a repeat customer. I was really excited to have been re-hired by a beautiful family we photographed a couple of month ago. As you may know, I don’t usually do birthday parties but for these clients I couldn’t resist documenting their little boys’ first party.
