Richard Gutierrez filed his complaint against PEP last April 13 at the Makati Prosecutor’s Office then later, transferred to the DOJ.

He filed the complaint for an article posted on PEP on March 29 saying that Richard had an alleged altercation with Michael Flores at the birthday party of Zorro director Mark Reyes at Oceana Restaurant on March 28, 2009.

Dan Brown’s conspiracy theory novel continues the mystery in a new book that would see the light around September 2009.

Dan Brown, the author describes the novel to be “a strange and wonderful journey” .

His First book “Angels & Demons” was a world-wide hit, in 2003, but mostly because the sensitive subject around Christians history. The interpretation of the mostly sacred Christian symbols was other sensitive subject that makes the book a world record sell with 81 million copies and spawning a hit film starring Tom Hanks.

The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 film directed by Ron Howard, which is based on the bestselling 2003 novel The Da Vinci Code.  It was one of the most anticipated films of 2006, and was previewed at the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2006.

Because of some controversial interpretations and factual inaccuracies of Christian history in both the book and movie, they were criticised by the Roman Catholic Church. Some bishops urged members to boycott the film.   Many of the early showings were accompanied by protesters outside the movie theatres, and early critical reviews were decidedly mixed. However, the film earned over US$230 million worldwide in its opening weekend, which at the time was the third biggest opening in history. The film’s soundtrack, composed by Hans Zimmer, was nominated for the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.

The details of the new novel are being kept secret but Dan Brown described the setting of “The Lost Symbol” as “a masterful and unexpected new landscape”.

“The Lost Symbol” follows hero Robert Langdon through a wonderful journey full of mystery and suspense in a 12-hour time frame.

The Lost Symbol, formerly known under the working title as The Solomon Key.  This will be the third book to involve the character of Harvard University symbologist Robert Langdon.

The book has been in development for several years; originally expected in 2006, the projected publication date has been pushed back multiple times.  The book will be published on 15 September 2009 with an initial print run of 6.5 million copies, which will be the largest first printing in publisher Random House’s history.  The book has been on pre-order lists for a few months and is being heavily ordered both in the U.S. and Canada. Brown’s US publisher Sonny Mehta described it as “a brilliant and compelling thriller” which is “well worth the wait”.
