TR-8R given name and backstory! Pretty cool because it adds a whole other layer of character to the stormtroopers. They’re still humans with individual thoughts, feelings, and friends. In the opening scene of TFA, when that stormtrooper (Slip) dies at the hands of Poe, and touches Finn with his bloody hand, this shows off how deep of a bond that Slip and Finn, and probably the other troopers had.
