Just bought the standard Object Desktop..

My system is a Windows Vista 64 bit, 8 gb ram, 2x3000mhz cpu and 8800gt gfx.

1. After I installed OD, many icons on my desktop and start menu just disappeared and replaced with blank sheet icons.

2. If I try to open Impulse, it first asks for permission to start, then I get "Impulse was not able to create its temporary directories. Please try again, permitting administrator access when requested." I tried to run it as administrator, but then I got: "You have executed Impulse as administrat...

Icon problem

I have the free version of OD and use it at work and at home. The problem started a few weeks after I installed it on my home computer. For some reason it loads the task bar up with OD icons. There may be only 15 things in the dock itself, but there may be 20 icons in the task bar. Once I got the bright idea to close each icon individually on the task bar by right clicking, then close, and when I checked I only had 3 items left on the dock. I decided to tackle Impulse with trepidation after reading all the horror stories. I downloaded the latest version from a link in the Impulse forum. As soo as Impulse loaded it asked to update itself, so i did. After I restarted Impulse I updated everything successfully except Skin Studio which said it was missing a password and did not complete so I restarted it and it updated successfully.

After I rebooted WB did not start so I tried it with the Program Menu and I got the ...

First time buyer/user here, ive currently added a new bar and added a few created tabs from myself. Ive also added a couple tabs from already created within the prgram itself. When i add the tab internet explore, or any other tab ive created i get an access denied error. Clicking on the Icon an error pots and say

"Windows cannot access the specifeied device,path or file. You May not have the approproate permissions to access items"

Now i know i am running as adminstrator. Any ideas ...

Monitor active programs on the dock?

Heya, just tuning in to ask if there is a widget or gadget (or whatever you young people call it these days) to monitor all my active programs through the dock.
I am allready aware that I can minimize programs down to it, but I'd like to be able to see all windows on the dock, just like a taskbar.

Is this possible?

I'm a beginner so forgive my dumb questions. I just purchased Object Desktop Ultimate and I want to customize each application, that is, give each application its' own appearance without affecting the way other applications appear, can I do this? If so, how? Also, say I want to create my own skins using Skin Studio, can I use my own textures, colors, backgrounds, etc.?

New install of WB yesterday (Zubaz led me down the path of true enlightenment on the GC2 Forum after blinding people with a "neked" Windows screenshot ).

Going fine, with one minor issue. Copernic Agent Pro backgrounds show up as Black inside one of the Frames, including the Link text.

Screen shots in the Link show on the left the effect on a XP Pro SP3 FX60 2Gb RAM. The one on the right is from a Vista SP1 laptop Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz T7250 2Gb RAM)...

I downloaded all my object desktop items that I purchased last year before my subscription expired and used the auto archive button to archive them.

I recently had to reinstall windows vista so there is a windows.old folder with the old program folder with some stardock folders in it, but I fail to find where my archived software is so that I can reinstall it. I'd hate to think that I spent $49.95 on object desktop for nothing.

I just got introduced to the world of widgets from my programmer friend. I'm looking around for some cool ones, it's kind of addictive building a collection. Kinda like digital trading cards. Or POGS!

I purchased OD Ultimate last night and whenever I try to download any applications I get and error saying that the serial number I entered is not recognized. I have validated that the # in impulse is the same as the # i received in the email. When I try to manually enter it I get the same error. Any ideas?

Laptops and Object Dock

I have noticed that of late I have been getting more emails asking about drag when using Object Dock on new laptops. Truth be told I am finding that 90% of the time it is due to bad drivers. In several cases I have been directing people here:

Need a little help here. I have the katest DesktopX Pro installed and can't seem to get it to start in builder mode autpomatically. I did tick the star with windows, but to no avail.

Windowblinds 6.1

For some reason every time I open up Windowblinds it changes my display settings to 8 bit color and the top few inches of my
screen go black. I then have to right click on my desktop>graphics properties>display settings and reset the color to 32 bit, hit
apply and OK, then it will display properly. Next time I open Windowblinds... 8 bit color again!

I'm showing Windowblinds 6.1, build 55x86 if that helps. Windows XP.

Any ideas?

Startdock Central will not download skins, etc.

When attempting to download any skin, theme, sound package, etc. Stardock Central lswitches over to the Download area but then indicates it is "redirecting" but never gets there. Just sits redirecting but never downloads. This happens with everything I attempt to download. I downloaded the OD free version yesterday and liked it so much I bought plus last night. It installed but nothng came up asking me for a serial and I find I have the same free version installed. Do I have to uninstall the free version first? If so how can I make sure my curent saved dock works with the new version.

We all know the difference between the Standard package and the Ultimate package is $20. For some that's no big deal but $20 is $20!

With that said the following additional programs come with the Ultimate package. There are some other ones but I'm not interested in those. The ones I am interested in are:

I started my home computer experience way back in the 80's with a Commodore Amiga and I loved that computer, but unfortunately some unscrupulous executives made a fast buck and the technology died before it could really get a stable niche in the market. Reset Activation

For some reason when I rebooted my system my WindowBlinds would not run. I reinstalled and now it's telling me I have maxed out my activations. Can someone please reset this for me?
