Explorer Address Bar Menus Unreadable

I found a great skin with some mod and almost have it but the Explorer Address Bar Menus are just not readable. Can anyone tell me where to change the font color in SS6?

I'm almost embarrassed to say how anal I am when it comes to making a perfect skin. Most people probably dont notice or care, but I really do.

I am trying to make a background for the Start Menu's "Programs list (left)" to have a gradient + transparency which is perfect when using 24bit full color depth. However, with my limited ability in paint programs I notice very minor "breaks" in color when the background is stretched to fit the start menu program list... instead of having a VERY ...

Whats the quickest and easiest way to add the "Vista User Icon" back to the Start Menu?

I'm been using this skin I really like. Unfortunately, the Vista User Icon from the Start menu was removed. I would like to put one back that's exactly like Vista's in the easiest way possible. It would be great if there just was an "ON" switch . Anyway, I have no idea. Could someone please tell me how to do this?

I tried looking at other skins to see if I could figure out what was different, but got completely lost.

I know how to make buttons that will open a program but I thought It would be cool to add a button to activate show all windows 3d feature in vista. I will make it for somthing else in xp but I know that location but I dont know if it is a valid command in sks because I enter it and it doesnt work? it works if i put it into the run diolouge? It is
C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe dwmapi #105 I set the button to a command and enter this and it will not work? Anyone have any help for me PLEASE P...

Windows Explorer Font

In the current skin I am editing with SKS 6, I am trying to eliminate the Calibri font from Windows XP Explorer (both folder and content panels). I have changed all skin fonts to reference Segoe and I have also rebooted, but the Calibri font is still there. Where exactly in SKS 6 is this managed? Thanks

I'm sure one day SKS will evolve to where a you can right-click any OS GUI component in a virtual desktop and change it's properties. But until then, I guess we need to dig around through the menus and submenus to find where to change these properties for each respective GUI component.

Anyway... can someone please tell me where to change the light/white colors pointed out in the picture below? I've been able to change every aspect of the Vista GUI except for the following.

I created a thread a week ago called Customizing the CLASSIC start menu with a screenshot of what I was talking about, and nobody even viewed it... aren't there mods on here or something to help people out?

Shouldn't this be a simple thing to solve?

I'm looking to modify the background color, highlight colour and the font for both viewed and non-viewed items in the start bar and programs panel, and everything else, like control panel, for the classic start menu... for windows XP pro

Start menu "glow" simply isn't working

Okay, so I want to create a start button that "pops up" just like in other skins - but somehow, my own custom skin isn't doing it. It appears fine in the previews, but when I finally apply it to my system it doesn't work and my button is just cut off every time. It appears the "glow" just isn't getting applied, even though "always show start button glow" is on, and the Top and Bottom settings are correct. Any ideas?

I got object desktop and i didnt think that i would use skin studio. But i really want to make a skin. I just want to make a windowblinds skin. I have no clue how to do anything. I did one thing and it seemed to work. I did the taskbar background. It shows right on the preview in skin studio so i think i did it right. I am just going to ask a few questions for now i will probly have allot in the future?

ONe question is when i want to make a windows blinds skin at the start of skin studio what...

Ive been working on a skin all weekend. Today, when I Remoted Desktop'ed into my machine to show my coworker the skin I've been working on, I noticed something that shouldn't be there. Can someone please tell me how to remove the below abnormality?

Titlebar buttons

Can somebody describe to me how these titlebar buttons work?? Several skins I've looked at have several copies of the buttons. On my own skin, I've got this weird bug where the buttons dissapear in windows that are not focused. What's going on?

When I click on "Edit Image...", make changes, save... then lose my transparency!

When I click on "Edit Image", Skinstudio opens up paintbrush. I have been making changes, not realizing that the oroginal transparencies are now all gone!

If I manually try to edit the tga file using different applications such as Paint.NET or Irfanview, when I save the TGA file and reload the skin, the image becomes all white.

What's the trick to reliably keeping existing transparency in an image without jumping through hoops? I just want to click Edit Image, make simple chang...

I am having no problem with most things in sks6. It is mostly a Breeze. I am however having problems with font colors. AHH. Its enough to make someone run away! LOL anyways, here are the problems I am Haveing.....

The font color for button text in system defined colors changes LOTs of places in windows vista. Not just buttons. So the problem is this.. I have black buttons and the places tool is black on my skin, so I change this font to white, only to find out it also includes the font color ...

it´s me again,

there are a few parts of Vista explorer for which I can´t find where to manage them in SkinStudio:

1: This resizing bar. In most (or all) skins it has the rgb color 252/252/252. Is this system defined or manageable by SkinStudio (no image in the WB folder fits)?

2: this item for over appeared after I upgraded Skinstudio and WB yesterday. Don´t find the corresponding thing in skinstudio to change it

3: the bitmap or color that defines this background

Hey,I have started to make a skin in Skinstudio 4 and want to apply it to my system so that i can check what it looks like. Weird error when opening a skin in SKS5

I've been working on a new WB skin for a while. Created and edited primarily in SKS6, although I've had it open a couple of times in SKS5 to set System Fonts, etc.

I hope a kind deskmodder can find the time to help me out with someproblems I'm having with modifying a WB theme in SkinStudio. I'veread/watched a few tutorials on the subject, but I'm still stuck on 3problems I can't see my way out of...

1. Some font settings in submenus are blurred in a rather ugly way, even though I haven't defined them this way...

2. Despite trying to change bar margins in all manner of ways, thewindows title is cut down to only one or two letters for sma...

Hello! I just recently purchased OD, and I am itching to make a skin with SS6! While I must say that SS6 is a great improvement in terms of ease of use over SS5 (congrats to all who worked on it!)), there is still room for improvement. I don't know if it just hasn't come out yet or what, but comprehensive documentation would be much appreciated (any plans to update the wiki?).

Startmenu /taskbar skinning tuts

I have been trying to reskin my startmenu and taskbar using Skinstudio6 and Photoshop CS2. I have all of my skins drwn out to the exact sizes need for the various parts, but when I import them, the pieces dont fit evenly. Whats the deal? Are there ne step-by-step tutorials on doing so? Additionally, for the taskbar, I have created a taskbar with rounded corners, but that too doesnt seem to work. I wanna create skins with Minimal to no stretching. Any help is much appreciated.
