Whilst trawling around the net I sometimes come across something special in the Customization world that I feel is worth drawing attention to and today I came across a fantastic Xion skin called XDJ by Pureav over at DA. The animations are amazing and most probably one of the best media player skins I have seen in a long time. The rules:

Okay..so ZA starts telling me my IP is under attack by some IP as soon as I boot my PC. After 20 or so of these alerts in 3 minutes, ZA shuts down and Avast starts popping up virus alerts quicker than I can send them to the vault. About 25 or so (Literally) alerts later, everything goes apeshit.

Game Cheats Are Illegal?

In his summary ruling on Blizzard's case against World of Warcraft cheat-maker Michael Donnelly (released yesterday), District Court Judge David Campbell has stated that the act of using a bot in violation of a game's license or terms of use qualifies as a copyright violation. Huh?

Just to get it out of the way, I'm as much against cheats as the next guy. As a WoW player in particular, I'm glad to see Blizzard shut down the cheaters and cheat-makers. But this ruling doesn't make much sense to me; it seems like a case of the judge just trying to find a way to cover something which doesn't really cross any real existing laws. Worse, it sets some (arguably) nasty precedent, effectively making EULAs law (any violation is a violation of copyright), rather than simple contracts where the most you can lose is your right to use the software.

Does anyone know if there is any immediate plans to release an FX version for Vista? Really love this program on my XP computer, but doesn't work very well at all on my main Vista computer.

I installed the trial version of WindowBlinds, then two themes I liked: Azenis 2 and BlackSystem. Neither works. When I switch to it, it puts up an old version of Windows (1998 I think). Is this supposed to happen because it's a trial, or am I installing wrong (err, it happened automatically, so I assume it's correct)? TIA.

DeskScape problem

Hi,

A few days ago DeskScapes failed to run anymore. I receive the following message ...

"The Desktop Window Manager is not running, DeskScapes requires the Desktop Window manager (uxsms) service to be running to function. Please visit http://dream.wincustomize.com for more information".

DeskScapes had been working.
Doses anyone know what this is abaut?

My system is a Windows Vista 64 bit, 8 gb ram, 2x3000mhz cpu and 8800gt gfx.

1. After I installed OD, many icons on my desktop and start menu just disappeared and replaced with blank sheet icons.

2. If I try to open Impulse, it first asks for permission to start, then I get "Impulse was not able to create its temporary directories. Please try again, permitting administrator access when requested." I tried to run it as administrator, but then I got: "You have executed Impulse as administrat...

2008 Community Wallpaper

Does anyone remember, back in 2004, many skinners, artists and such alike got together and produced a community wallpaper, that we each 'tagged' with our grafitti?

That was about 4 years ago. Many skinners have since either quit, lost interest, moved onto greener pastures or just got bored. New ones have emerged and shown great promise, so I feel it's time for another community wall, akin to 2004's, just newer.

What do you think?

I know TSF used to contribute here, but they don't show up much anymore, at least with content. I'm anxiously awaiting the release and can't wait to see DarkMatter. Hurry up Jeff.
