Hey. In 2004, I saw a shiny new box at EB Games titled "The Political Machine" by Stardock and Ubisoft. I thought it looked cool and bought it. Now I want to register it and it says my key is invalid. That's what I get for waiting two years, huh? Crap. Is there help for me, or would I have to purchase the game all over again?

Loss of State Data on Candidate Edit

I was playing PM 2004 like all day, was building a new candidate when i noticed that there was no state data to choose from, the puul-down was blank so i saved anyways and just edited the data through the program files. When i restarted the game the state data is not avaialble for any candidates and when i choose to start a campaign the program crashes. I have v1.02. And this is the first problems I'm having with this game since installing v1.02. Help please!

So I've just purchased "The Political Machine" and was very excited to play it. Unfortunately I am experiencing an unusual challenge. It seems that after week 1 I am unable to fly my candidate from state to state. My mouse is working fine so I know it isn't anything that simple.

Is this a known issue? How can I fix it?

Can't change my campaign manager name

I recently installed Political Machine on my new computer for the first time. I am using Windows Vista now (previously XP) and although the game starts up, I've noticed a serious problem.

I can't change either my game name when creating a new quick play game or my name for the purpose of tracking a high school. Its stuck on 'Campaign 2004' and 'Pat Smith'. Whenever I try to type anything, the little error ding just sounds over and over.

What is the issue here?

For some reason, I can't type anywhere in the game. I went to create a new candidate and I can do everything else but type in the person's name! I have no other technical issues with the game besides this. What do you think caused this?

I'm running Windows Vista and a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO video card that came with the computer.

Please help! I'm sick of using the same humdrum candidates!

Crash to desktop extremely often

I tried three times to run a Quickplay, but observed CTDs out of the blue each time within five weeks/turns at maximum.

I installed TPM via Stardock Central, currently on version 1.01.013. I'm running Win XP fully patched (without SP2). No instabilities with any other applications.

File "debug.err" in TPM main directory shows following disturbing last lines:

Playing over LAN

My wife and I were trying to play the game over a LAN tonight, and I used the suggestions given in posts a long time ago to delete the server address in the top righ tof the screen, but this was done to no avail. We were able to see each other in the lobby and type to each other, but were unable to see any games when created by the other person. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? I know that there aren't many people that look at this anymore, but I was hoping that someone could shed some lig...

Bugs with randomization

Two bugs I've found with the randomization options in Fantasy Play:

1. When I randomize the political party makeup per state, it will sometimes add up to more than 100%

2. When I choose to randomize issue importance, the initial issue importance is the same every time. Has anybody else seen this?

Video Display Problems on 1.02

I recently updated my Political Machine to 1.02, but now when I play campaign mode, quick mode, or fantasy mode, the display messes up. This is what happens. I start the game. When the first box comes up, saying, 41 weeks to go for the campaign, with (name) and (other name) etc. When you click done, It goes behind the state info/canditate info/stamina/state approval, but it covers up the United States Map. I am unable to find the "interview" button that you click on in order to meet with the local media in a state. I have no problems with national media, however I would like to be able to meet with state reporters as well. any help would be appreciated.....thank you

I'm being told when I try to start the game that I need to log into an administrator account, however I am already logged into a Windows Administrator account. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, how do I fix this?

Could Someone help me, when i start the game the map of the USA State is like a fuzzy grey and when i select and option (I.E. Create ad i just end up with like an imprint of it in the background)

I play many different games such as Battlefield 1942, Worms A., Unreal 2003, and many mods of those games. None bring me the problems that I get with this game. I like the game but I have yet to finish a camipiagn without it freezeing up, or rebooting magically out of no where. I have updated to the newest version(1.02) because I thought that was the problem. It didnt work, as soon as I finished the first election and it did the red/blue state showing who won, it rebooted!!! Very annoying s...

Only grey map

"Failed to initialize display"

I haven't been able to play my new copy of TPM, getting a "Failed to Initialize Display" message when I try to start it up. I've gone tto my video card website and have gotten the most current drives but that hasn't changed anything.

System info:
OS: XP Home Edition
Intel 2524 Mhz processor
512 MB RAM
video card: ATI Radeon 9700
