Whilst trawling around the net I sometimes come across something special in the Customization world that I feel is worth drawing attention to and today I came across a fantastic Xion skin called XDJ by Pureav over at DA. The animations are amazing and most probably one of the best media player skins I have seen in a long time. For the last few months we’ve been letting out little teasers here and there about what we’re going to be doing with this year’s event. Today, I’m happy to reveal some of the contest details to everyone, so skinners can begin to prepare their masterpieces early. In 2006, there were complaints that there wasn’t enough warning on the contest, so this year we’re giving you all months to prepare!

Icon Organizing anyone?

Sneak preview of a potential new technology for the desktop that's brewing - Icon Organizing. Create areas on the desktop that apply a customizable graphic effect to the background, resize/move the areas and have the icons go with them, icons can auto-arrange independently within the areas... can choose a specific area for new icons to go to automatically, fold up areas, show a 'details' explorer view of a subfolder as a desktop area...etc etc.

Problem with Object Dock and windows blinds?

Currently I'm using the eminence windows blinds theme. Usually the system tray in object shows over the top bar in all windows but most times after a while it appears behind and I need to restart object dock many times during the day just to fix it. I was chatting with Niel and the question came up of what features/functions/etc were still missing from SKS6 that were there for SKS5. Why are the two version still needed to create a skin?

Firstly, I hope that I have the correct section of the forum to ask these questions. If not, please accept my apologies.

i dont know what section to put this in so sorry if its posted incorectly. i am running winxp pro what i want to do is put my desktop icons the main ones (int.expl. my doc. my comp. ect.) into a wallpaper/background picture i have.. for example lets say i have a square as a wallpaper/background image i would like to be able to scroll over one corner of the square and i can click and have it open up my internet explorer another corner opening up my computer so on and so forth. i hate icons&n...
