BootSkin Pro was part of the Object Desktop 2009 release. It finally allows users of Windows Vista to create and change the boot screen image with a high-resolution image. Whether you either want to change your boot screen, or create your own to share with others, the process is simple.

BootSkin Pro allows you to both create and change bootskins, while BootSkin allows you only to change the boot screen.

Wallpaper problem in DesktopX

I have created a desktop theme, complete with a wallpaper I downloaded. My problem is, that whenever I switch to Desktop Client, the wallpaper disappears and is replaced with a solid grey/black colour.
I am also running a windowsblinds theme with the same wallpaper selected. However...every time I reboot, the wallpaper is replaced by the same flat grey colour.
I have tried clearing the cache...I have the same wallpaper selected in Control Panel.Display, as well.
What am I doing wrong?

Since the Object Desktop 2009 suggestions thread has been closed due to it's release, and because I couldn't find any other RC suggestion threads.........I made my own After downloading Night Train's WB Mama's Boy at the GUIC and taking His advice to try it out and see how well it re-colors...........I thought it would be cool if RC had a hue shifter. I have just re-installed Window Blinds on my PC and my AV has just kicked up this:

Backdoor.Win32.DarksRat.R@18515857 This tried to run from c:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds\Activate.exe

I quarantined it and WindowBlinds seemed to install and activate ok. Has anyone else experienced this?

DesktopX Weather Widget Issues - Read This

As many of you know from reading the forums over the past couple of days, that weather feeds being pulled in from DesktopX created widgets/objects have stopped working. To make a short story even shorter, TWC has shown a requirement put upon all widget creators and users, and anyone else accessing their data to abide by new and quite specific demands/rules. This goes for anyone using the feeds, not just WinCustomize users.

Problems Applying Icons

I'm having a problem applying icons with Icon Packager to external hard drives.

I am using Windows Vista and have two external drives. One labelled M for my media and another labelled z for documents and other stuff.

When I apply an icon package the program will change all the icons for all my drives except Z. The folders on Z are Documents, Favorites, Links and finally Downloads.

Anyone got any ideas what the problem may be.

Win 7 Start menu search results problem

As you can see ,Win 7 is pushing the progs side image around funny when you type in the search field.

Slides it right,ok...at least it uses the graphics and sizing margins there but...

on the bottom it cuts the image off badly and pushes down into the allprogs area...allprogs area normally 30 pixels,squashed to 22.

Its not using the progs graphics sizing margin and its pushing the allprogs graphic all the way to the right also.

Running Vista Ultimate and getting nag screen to buy deskscapes

So I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, downloaded the deskscapes version 1.02 and I'm still getting the nag screen that I need to buy deskscapes to run any of the dream files. I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, etc...any suggestions???

objectdock thumbnail probs

So I have objectdock plus on 2 comps, it works great on the standerd case but on my laptop... it wont display my open windows as "screenshot thumbnails" Now it tells me that it only works on sliders or something, and that i need to restart objectdock... how do i do that? i did a right click quit, but that dident work. anyone know of anything?

Semi-Transparent Icons??

Hey everyone,

So i've been using photoshop and creating some icons and I was just wondering if theres any way to make them semi transparent so you can see through them. It seems when I try to make them semi-transparent the effect just doesn't show up. By the way, Im trying to make .ico files for desktop icons.........not .png files for dock icons.

And while we are on the transparent topic, does anyone know of a program to make other programs semi-transparent?

i'm using a dock (forgive me, its not object dock ) but it has not the function to reserve an area for itself, so i can maximize a window but it would'nt go furhter than the dock.

I have tried looking through the post, but didn't exactly found anything that helps... I have WindowBlinds 6.4 on my Vista comp, and all in all, it works well USUALLY, but sometimes, it forgets to skin a window or two (and it skins it with classic win98 shell...); and rarely when my comp starts, i have to re-apply the windowblind, because it just doesn't work.

I don't really have a screenshot, because the problem is quite simple, but does anyone know why it is? (Oh, and on another note, i won...

Hi guys, Im curious if this is a Vista bug when it comes to skinning Internet Download Manager transfer windows. On my wife's XP machine these windows are fully skinned but not on my two Vista machines.

Is this a known bug or is there any way to fix this via settings? Ive tried to add IDM to the custom programs options to try and override settings but still does not work. Thanks for all help!

Dreams not allowed???

I decided to start running Dreams again (Vista Ultimate user) and now I'm getting nag screens to BUY Deskscapes, which I shouldn't have to. When I close the screen, it should run the Dream anyway....nope....it just sits there. What is going on here??? I'm also getting Deskscape error messages "Dream not allowed". WHAT??? Could someone throw me a clue here why suddenly now Dreamscapes is so whacked out??

New Noob question for you smarter then i peeps. How can i back up my WB skins? I got a virus (Trojan horse clicker.AALX) apparently its a new one, havent found anything on how to get rid of it, So i am just gonna wipe and reboot windows...

Now i paid for naked noir and a few others, but i cant find how to back them up... any help on that? or even better the virus =P
